Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, born Ilhan Nur Said Elmi (born 1983 in Somalia) is the Democratic Party representative from Minnesota's 5th district, previously held by Antifa promoter Keith Ellison. Ilhan Omar is a bigot[1][2] who previously held a seat on the coveted House Foreign Policy Committee.[3]

A phony anti-establishmentarian, Omar voted in 2021 to make Nancy Pelosi House Speaker.[4]

At the age of 12, Ilhan Nur Said Elmi emigrated to the United States under the name Ilhan Abdullahi Omar. Two brothers and a sister were granted asylum in the United Kingdom under their real names, while Ilhan, her father and another sister obtained the use of an unrelated Omar family name, which had been granted asylum in the United States. In 2009, Ilhan married her brother, two years her junior who had been granted UK asylum in 1995, in order for him to enter the United States.

Somalis living in the Somali community of Minneapolis have been threatened by Ilhan's campaign to remain quiet about what they know of Ilhan's family background, and the numerous instances of fraud Ilhan has allegedly committed since her sham marriage to her brother in 2009.[5]

Ilhan is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, fierce defender of political Islam, and a co-sponsor of the totalitarian Green New Deal. Ilhan is a die hard Russia collusion conspiracy theory hoaxer and voted against humanitarian aid for children in the border crisis.[6] When given the opportunity to condemn genocide in a House vote on the floor, Ilhan Elmi Omar voted "Present".[7] During the Coummunist Chinese global pandemic Omar called for "action" to "nationalize healthcare and the supply chain."[8]

Ilhan Omar is ripe with Islamic antisemitism.[9][10]

Even liberal HBO host Bill Maher called out Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib over antisemitic comments they posted on social media. Adding regarding Omar's hate post: "Ten years ago, if you read that to me, I’d have thought that would be from Hezbollah. That’s an American congressperson."[11]

She is an advocate for Muslim Kashmir, outspoken opponent of India, proponent of radical Islam, enemy of Israel and unofficial ambassador for the Muslim Brotherhood and its U.S. affiliate the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) bigoted Islamist-lobby.[10]

Omar, who was praised by Klansman David Duke for spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories,[12][13][14] claims she believes that Americans who participate in Trump rallies are members of the Klan.[15]

Explained:[16] Hypocrites Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar (like Linda Sarsour) play the liberal card and help in forcing radical left agenda upon Americans - to get votes and establish cosmetic alliances, that's all. Not that they adhere or practice in their circles the non-Muslim routine... It is also part of their hypocrisy on real apartheid practices in the Arab [Islamic] world.

Background

Ilhan's two husbands. Ilhan is said to have married her brother in order to gain illegal entrance into the United States.[17]

Ilhan Nur Said Elmi was born in Somalia in 1983. She, her father, two sisters and two brothers, fled the country in 1991 as a result of escalating violence. They stayed in the Dadaab refugee camps of neighboring Kenya until 1995. The unrelated Omar family, which was granted three asylum spots in the United States, allowed Ilhan's father Nur Said, her genetic sister Sahra, and Ilhan to use false names as members of the Omar family. Ilhan's three other siblings — under their real names — received asylum in the United Kingdom. The family was split up, and Ilhan, her father, and sister Sahra relocated to Minnesota under assumed identities.

Her father's name before applying for asylum was Nur Said Elmi Mohamed. Her sister Sahra Noor's name before applying for asylum was Sahra Nur Said Elmi. Her three siblings, another sister and two brothers, were granted asylum by the United Kingdom are Leila Nur Said Elmi, Mohamed Nur Said Elmi, and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi (b. 1985). In 2018 Leila Elmi became Leyla Cilmi.

Ilhan became a naturalized citizen in 2001. In 2009 Ilhan married her brother Ahmed Elmi, who had been granted asylum in the UK. Ahmed relocated to the United States. The two, along with Ilhan's common law husband Ahmend Hirsi, moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 2009 and attended North Dakota State University for two years before returning to Minnesota. Ilhan filed papers for a default divorce until 2017.[18][19] Ilhan then officially married Hirsi, the father of her three children, in 2018 - the year she ran for Congress.

Ilhan and Ahmed Hirsi have lived together uninterruptedly since 2002 and have three children; Ilhan, Hirsi, and Ahmed Elmi lived together in North Dakota between 2009 and 2011 while in school.

The P-3 program

The Third Priority, or P-3 program, allowed relatives of asylum refugees to join their families who had already been resettled in the United States. The P-3 family reunification program was shut down by the State Department in 2008 when DNA testing revealed an 87 percent fraud rate among Somalis.[20] Ilhan married her brother Ahmed the following year in order for him to gain entrance into the United States.

Sham marriage

Months after getting married in Minnesota in 2009, Ilhan and Ahmed Elmi moved to Fargo, North Dakota. They both attended North Dakota State University between 2009 and 2011. Ahmed Hirsi, the father of Ilhan's children, also moved to North Dakota from 2009 until 2011. All three, Ilhan, Hirsi, and Ahmed Elmi, are recorded to have been living together in North Dakota at the same address in 2009. All three are then recorded as living together at a second North Dakota address in 2010–2011. Ilhan has lived with Hirsi uninterruptedly for 17 years.

Social media accounts show Ilhan in regular contact with Ahmed Elmi, and her visiting Elmi in London in 2015.

On August 10, 2017, as she was preparing a run for U.S Congress, Ilhan filed for a default divorce from Ahmed Elmi: a default divorce can occur when one spouse attests to be unable to locate the other spouse on whom to serve the papers. Ilhan swore under penalty of perjury that she had zero contact with Ahmed Elmi after June 2011. In November 2019, Omar finally became officially divorced.[21]

The Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board found that Ilhan filed illegal joint tax returns with Hirsi while still married to her brother. In addition, false statements made during her 2009 marriage filing and 2017 divorce proceedings constituted perjury.[23]

In a series of articles in 2018 and 2019, journalist David Steinberg presented evidence that Ilhan's birth name was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, that she fraudulently claimed membership in the Omar family to gain asylum, and that her subsequent obtaining of U.S. citizenship may have occurred under false pretenses.[24] Steinberg states that Ilhan has committed a dozen felonies or more: at least one count of immigration fraud when she arranged for her brother's entry into the U.S. as her husband; at least two (and possibly as many as eight) counts of filing fraudulent tax returns; at least one count of federal student loan fraud (as Ilhan and Ahmed passed themselves off as husband and wife when requesting federal financial aid during their time at North Dakota State); and eight counts of perjury during her 2017 divorce. In his words, Ilhan "has almost certainly committed the most extensive spree of felonies by a congressperson in U.S. history."[25]

In Aug 2018, to Al Jazeera, Ilhan Omar said Americans should be "more fearful of white men" when discussing the threat of "jihadist terrorism."[26]

2019 revelation of being a Qatari Asset

Omar has been a 'Qatari asset,' passing information to Qatar, which was subsequently handed along to the Islamic Republic of Iran.[27]

Omar's bigotry and hypocrisy at Dems in dealing with intolerance

Columnist, in rebuking Pelosi soft approach to Omar, highlighted bigotry by Omar and hypocrisy at the Democratic party in dealing with such cases vs the GOP:[1]

...Omar is a bigot with a long history of making virulent antisemitic remarks. She has said that when she hears people call Israel a democracy “I almost chuckle,” [3] that “Israel has hypnotized the world” [4] and that she prays that Allah will “awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” She shared a cartoon [5] on social media that was drawn by the second-place winner of Iran’s Holocaust denial cartoon contest. She supports the antisemitic BDS movement, [6] which seeks the economic destruction of Israel, and introduced a resolution [7] in Congress comparing a boycott of Israel to boycotting Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. She said that U.S. support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins,” [8] insinuating that Jews buy American influence. And she has said that politicians who support Israel “push for allegiance to a foreign country” [9] — accusing Israel supporters in Congress of dual loyalty, a classic antisemitic trope.

After that last comment, when House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot L. Engel (D-N.Y.) accused her of “a vile antisemitic slur,” [10] Omar was unrepentant. “I should not be expected to have allegiance/pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee,” she replied, [11] doubling down on her dual-loyalty calumny.

So, her most recent invective was not an isolated comment that needed “clarification.” It was the latest in a long string of antisemitic diatribes that have disgraced the House Democratic caucus. Yet despite this history, not only has Pelosi tolerated Omar’s abhorrent behavior; she also appointed [12] Omar to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, which helps determine U.S. policy on the Middle East. And this year Pelosi elevated [13] Omar to serve as vice chair of the subcommittee on Africa. A person who compares America and Israel to the Taliban and Hamas has no business serving on that panel.

2020 election

Ballot harvesting

On September 27, 2020 James O'Keefe of Project Veritas posted a report on illegal ballot harvesting for cash in Omar's district.[31][32][33] On October 16, 2020 Facebook sent notification warnings to every user that reposted the Project Veritas' report.[34] Roger Stone wrote:

"Behind all of this organized Democrat corruption is a sleazy legal trickster and Democrat hatchet man named Norm Eisen, who actually wrote a manual or guidebook outlining how he was behind the same type of violent insurrection in other countries [...]

Eisen wrote a detailed “how to” book for radical revolution, literally called the “Playbook”. This diabolical manual for mass manipulation lays out scenarios for the overthrow of democratically elected governments overseas, which Eisen sought to topple. It includes plans for engineering election fraud scenarios and then using election fraud as the pretext to engineer mass protests intended to cast doubt on the legitimacy of election result.

This un-American slimeball Eisen has been a chief architect of the underhanded, dishonest and even seditious impeachment efforts waged against President Trump, as well as over 180 frivolous or malicious lawsuits against Trump and his political allies. He had already authored ten articles of impeachment against President Trump before the President’s phone call to the President of Ukraine, which Democrats absurdly distorted, misrepresented and inflated into their laughable grounds for impeachment, had even taken place. Eisen was Special Counsel to the Democrats for the impeachment process he had himself engineered.

This ruthless lawyer thug and Democrat zealot Eisen will employ the usual Democrat lawfare tricks to try to steal or overturn the 2020 election, with street thugs as his Plan B. Republicans must be prepared to fight this effort both in the courts and through mobilization of legitimate peaceful protests.

The big stash of ballots that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar got caught with trace directly to Eisen’s ballot-harvesting operation. This is but one strand in a sprawling vote fraud web which can be traced, and proved if necessary, to similar criminal operations underway in Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia and Arizona. [...] Because the left always accuses their opponents of whatever crimes or treachery in which they are themselves engaged, or planning to engage, I am concerned about the Norm Eisen – Mark Elias – Neal Katyal scheme to steal the 2020 election and the presidency, using Black Lives Matter and Antifa to intimidate and harass Trump voters at the polling places in order to suppress the Trump vote – particularly among older citizens.

The head Democrat election thief Eisen calls his ballot fraud/lawfare/street violence operation (what else?) a “Voter Protection Project”. It is anything but that, but one must acknowledge how clever these liberals can be in their nefarious scheming and scamming.

BLM and Antifa have demonstrated beyond question that they have the numbers, funding, structure and organization to stage such violent suppressive incidents at carefully selected polling locations around the country. The notion that Antifa is, per Joe Biden in the first presidential debate, merely “an idea” or “ideology” and not an actual organization is, aside from being lunacy, disproved by their criminally violent and well-organized actions in recent months. Someone is paying for trucks, buses, U-Hauls and pallets of bricks, as well as the lawyers who show up instantaneously with bail money whenever one of these violent terrorists is arrested." [35]

A 17-year-old campaign staffer for Lacy Johnson, the Republican opponent running against Ilhan Omar, was shot and killed outside a gas station in Minneapolis.[36]

2020 George Floyd riots

All four members of the Squad, and the affiliated groups that back them, were involved in the 2020 Leftwing insurrection. Minneapolis and Metro Atlanta Democratic Socialists of America colluded with Antifa in the violence. Seattle DSA is also involved. DSA branches in Memphis, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Louisville, Philadelphia, and Richmond are raising funds for “George Floyd Uprisings Nationwide.”[37] The American Left has the power to start race riots in nearly every major U.S. city.

In Marxist–Leninist and Maoist theory, a United front is a coalition of leftist organizations that collude for the purpose of taking over a government. In the 116th Congress, the Committees of Correspondence for Democratic Socialism, Democratic Socialists of America, Liberation Road (formerly Freedom Road Socialist Organization), and Communist Party of the United States formally created a united front of the nation's four largest Communist organizations to take over the Democratic Party.[38] As of 2018 the umbrella group is known as the Left Inside/Outside Project (“One foot in the institutions, one foot in the streets.”[39]) consisted of 57,000 community organizers.[40] At its August 2019 convention the DSA passed a resolution to form a

“National Working Group to help drive collaboration and resource sharing to support our antifascist organizing.”[41]

Law enforcement authorities found evidence of pre-planning. The Minneapolis Star/Tribune reported:

state officials said several caches of flammable materials were found both in neighborhoods where there have already been fires and “in cars we’ve stopped as recently as this morning,” said John Harrington, state public safety commissioner. Some of the caches look like they may have been planted days ago and some only in the last 24 hours or so, he said. Police are also finding stolen vehicles with plates removed that are being used to transport the flammable materials. Looted goods and weapons also have been found in the stolen cars, he said.[42]

The Sunrise Movement, with established groups in several major cities, has heavily recruited activists from the DSA and Liberation Road affiliated groups, such as the Pennsylvania Student Power Network. Sunrise founding activists are all current trainers with Momentum Community, which is a training workshop funded by millionaires and billionaires to “incubate” supposed "grassroots" organizations such as Sunrise and the Movimiento Cosecha (Harvest Movement). Democrat millionaire donor and former 2020 presidential election candidate Tom Steyer's NextGen America is also tied to the Sunrise Movement, and according to the New York Times, the two groups “strategize” together.[43]

The DSA itself as of 2020 has 66,000 members nationwide and locals in almost every state. Other communist groups such as Communist Party USA, Liberation Road, Socialist Alternative, Workers World Party, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Socialist Unity Party, and Revolutionary Communist Party and their allies in Black Lives Matter and Antifa can mobilize tens of thousands of militants and organizing cadre at short notice. The American Left has the power to start race riots in nearly every major U.S. city. 116th Congress

Ilhan is known for saying and tweeting offensive, inflammatory and provocative remarks.[45][46] She allegedly made homophobic comments directed against colleagues.[47][48] In 2012, Ilhan was accused of antisemitism after tweeting that, "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel."[49][50][51][52] She denies that the U.S. is a democracy, comparing it to Iran.[53] In January 2019, she endorsed the autocratic strongman Nicolás Maduro and shared a propaganda video from his government.[54] While opposing sanctions on Venezuela, Omar supports those sanctions on Israel.[55] Omar voted "present" on a vote recognizing the Armenian genocide, and in her statement explaining why she suggested the genocide may not have happened at all.[56]

As an adult, Ilhan has mocked the deaths of 19 U.S. servicemen in the so-called Black Hawk Down incident in her home country of Somali in 1993. Bodies of U.S. servicemen were dragged through the streets of Mogadishu.[57] Ilhan's family used asylum passes granted to another family by the name of Omar to gain entrance into the United States in 1995.

Ilhan exploded on an anti-female genital mutilation (FGM) advocate who asked her if she would condemn FGM. “Your second question is an appalling question...I am disgusted, really to be honest, that as Muslim legislators we are constantly being asked to waste our time speaking to issues that other people are not asked to speak to.”

Minnesota 5th district

According to the AHA Foundation, there are 44,293 women at risk of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the state of Minnesota. The AHA Foundation was established to protect women from so-called “honor” violence, advance freedom of speech in public debate, and support the work of Muslim reformers. The AHA Foundation rates each state A-F on these issues. Minnesota received a D rating due to its poor anti-FGM policies.

Before being elected to Congress Ilhan was a member of the Minnesota statehouse when in 2017 it considered a bill seeking to make it a felony for parents to subject their daughters to FGM. Ilhan suggested that the bill's proponents may be seeking media attention. “What I don’t want us to do is to try to create laws because we want to be able to get in the media,” Ilhan said.[58]

Sham rebuke for racist comments

Omar and Tlaib shared on Twitter an antisemitic cartoon by a winner of an Iranian holocaust denial contest.[59]

The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives, despite a massive public outcry for an official rebuke of Ilhan's persistent pattern of antisemitic statements, refused to issue a public condemnation of her comments.

The U.S. State Department defines on its website antisemitism as:

Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.[60]
Ilhan asserted that congressional support for Israel is "All about the Benjamins baby," a reference to the Ben Franklin $100 bill, implying that Congress is controlled by a Jewish lobby. In March 2019, the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives, under Speaker Nancy Pelosi, refused to pass a resolution rebuking Rep. Ilhan Omar for a persistent pattern of antisemitic statements.[61][62] The website stopantisemitism.org named the congresswoman as 2019's antisemite of the year, beating out Louis Farrakhan.[63]

In 2019, Omar mourned the death of murderous Muslim Brotherhood tyrant, Mohammed Morsi who called Jews "apes and pigs."[64]

Ilhan is the darling of leftist media honored with the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.[65] Ilhan asserted that congressional support for Israel is "All about the Benjamins baby," a reference to the Ben Franklin $100 bill, implying members of congress are paid off by AIPAC. Ilham refused to condemn terrorist attacks by the fascist Antifa group on ICE facilities,[66] and has promoted the bigoted and divisive claim that all Trump supporters are "racist."[67]

Ethics complaint

An ethics complaint was filed with the Democrat-controlled Office of Congregational Ethics to look into potential crimes committed by Rep. Ilhan Omar. The crimes include, but are not limited to, perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, and federal student loan fraud.[68]

The complaint also noted that the State of Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board has already determined that Rep. Omar violated state campaign finance laws for improper use of campaign funds. She was forced to reimburse her campaign thousands of dollars. More significantly, the Board discovered that the federal tax returns submitted by Rep. Omar for 2014 and 2015 were filed as “joint” tax returns with a man who was not her husband, named Ahmed Hirsi, while she was actually married to Ahmed Elmi. Sources in the Somali community have expressed fear regarding published video and photo evidence confirming threats from Omar's campaign team. These sources have shared other evidence of threats.

Second divorce and lover paid $230,000 in campaign funds

Six months into office, it was reported Ilhan Elmi Omar filed for divorce from her current husband, who is not her brother and whom she illegally filed joint taxers with while married to her brother, and now was romantically involved with a campaign aide who was paid $230,000 in campaign funds.[69]

Her new lover's wife also filed for divorce. According to the divorce papers filed by Ilhan Elmi Omar's lover's wife, Elmi Omar's new lover did little work for the campaign.[70] Ilhan Elmi Omar is described as a homewrecker.[71]

“Some people did something”

Rep. Ilhan Elmi Omar was criticized by name by survivors of 9/11 at the September 11, 2019, memorial observation.

In April 2019, a video showed Ilhan Elmi Omar saying the Sept. 11 attacks were "some people who did something" while speaking at an event supporting the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).[72]

While speaking at a 9/11 memorial event in New York City, the son of a victim said there should be no confusion on who attacked the United States and killed almost 3,000 people.

I am here today to honor my 76-year-old mother, Frances, on the solemn 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Mom, we always miss you and love you very much. This day I also remember over 200 personal friends and co-workers that I knew that died.

'Some people did something,' said a freshman congresswoman from Minnesota to support and justify the creation of CAIR. Today I am here to respond to you, exactly who did what to whom. Madam, objectively speaking, we know who and what was done, there is no uncertainty about that. Why your confusion? On that day, 19 Islamic terrorist members of al Qaeda killed over 3,000 people and caused billions of dollars in economic damage. Is that clear?"

But as to whom? I was attacked. Your relatives and friends were attacked. Our constitutional freedoms were attacked. And our nation’s founding on Judeo-Christian principles were attacked. That’s what some people did. Got that now? We are here today, congresswoman, to tell you and ‘the Squad’ just who did what to whom. Show respect in honoring them, please.[73]

Involvement in Antifa riot in Minneapolis

Thanks to the use of facial recognition software to identify them, Omar and her boyfriend Tim Mynett, both hiding their faces with masks, were discovered to have been among those in the crowd involved in an anti-Trump Antifa riot on October 10, 2019, outside the Target Center in Minneapolis, where a Donald Trump rally was being held.[74] After being found out, Omar attempted to cover her tracks by claiming that she was in Morocco at the time of the riot (which was believed by almost no one responding to her claim on her Twitter account), but the facial recognition software results that were posted exposed Omar's claim as a lie, confirming that both she and Mynett were at the riot; she was even shown to have adjusted her face cover to keep her face hidden when she realized she was walking into the field of view of a camera recording the riot.[75]

Pete Buttigieg

Ilhan Elmi Omar, who has endorsed Bernie Sanders, struck back at South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg for using a stock photo of a Kenyan woman to promote Douglass Plan. “This is not ok or necessary,” Omar tweeted, linking to a tweet by The Intercept D.C. bureau chief Ryan Grim, who first highlighted the use of the photo, saying the unnamed woman had “reached out to me very confused.” Grim wrote that the woman messaged him, “What's the meaning of the message accompanied by the photo?"[76]

Laughing at US casualties

At a House Progressive Caucus press conference on January 8, 2020, Omar was spotted giggling and laughing while her colleagues discussed American casualties in Iraq, giving indication of her refusal to take the gravity of the situation seriously.[77]

Anti-Christian bigotry

On April 16, 2022 (on which Holy Saturday fell this year), Omar made bigoted and hateful anti-Christian comments in a Twitter post against a group of people singing Christian Gospel music aboard an airplane in a video she included with the tweet.[78] Condemnation against Omar on Twitter for her bigotry was swift and massive[79] with several Republican politicians (including Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert) and conservative pundits among the critics of her anti-Christian, antisemitic and anti-American rhetoric.[80] In response to the criticism, Omar resorted to her previous tactics, she lashed out on Twitter by calling Boebert and her other critics "religious bigots" while ignoring her own history of anti-Christian and antisemitic bigotry;[81] while liberals chimed in to mindlessly support Omar and her bigotry and fawn all over her, some respondents continued criticizing Omar for her further hateful attacks against Christians.

Anti-Indian activities

Ilhan Omar has repeatedly pushed Anti-Indian legislation in Congress and supports Islamic terrorism against India. [82] [83] In April 2022, Ilhan Omar visited Pakistan and met with Imran Khan as well as disrespected India's territorial integrity by visiting Pakistani occupied Kashmir.[84]

Hypocrisy

As a typical hypocritical bigot, (so-called progressive) Ilhan Omar remained silent on Iran protests, noticeably by women against their oppressors (end of Sep 2022 report).[85] When finally, on Oct 8, Ilhan Omar had no choice but to address it, she tried to falsely link it, confuse it with a totally unrelated issue - "abortion."[10]

Ilhan Omar was accused of ‘selective outrage’ after Qatar funded her World Cup trip.[86] "If there’s a lobby that’s really "all about the Benjamins." Ilhan Omar, who decried Israeli money in US politics, got free World Cup trip from Muslim Brotherhood-linked Qatar. Selective outrage indeed.

Muslim Brotherhood organizations in the United States are dedicated, according to a captured internal document, to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within, and sabotaging its miserable house.”

Qatar is one of the “staunchest supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Qatar was found to be behind statements from American universities that were hostile to Israel. Qatar also funds Hamas, al Qaeda and Hizballah.

Ilhan Omar was a strong advocate of abolishing the Minneapolis police, and backed a ballot initiative to do so.[88] After the Minneapolis City Council voted to abolish the police, the Minneapolis homicide rate increased 116%, and the violent crime by 30%.[89]

Vile comparison

In June, 2021, Omar again caused a storm by comparing US, Israel with the Jihadi terrorists Hamas & Taliban. GOP demanded action,[90][91] Democrats also protested. Bigoted Omar responded with crying "victimhood." Pelosi first condemned, then the other Islamic representative, also with a record of bigotry, the Atab-Palestinian Rashida Tlaib pulled out too that cover of supposed "Islamophobia." Pelosi cowed.[92]

Weeks later, another bigoted Muslim, Khaled Awad made the headlines. He targeted a Jew in Boston and almost kidnapped, killed him. Critics pointed the connection to Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and others' rhetoric.

On the method of "as a woman of color" ahead of racist statements by Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, a tweeter noted (Aug/2021):[93] Saying "as a woman of color" before a racist statement does not make that statement any better.

When Republicans regained control of the U.S. House in the 2022 midterms, GOP leader Kevin McCarthy announced in late November that Omar would be blocked from committee assignments due to her antisemitic bigotry.[96] After being elected Speaker, McCarthy confirmed the move.[97]

On 18 July 2023, "the US House of Representatives on Tuesday overwhelmingly voted in favor of a resolution condemning antisemitism and stating that Israel" is not so called "apartheid" or the R word.[104] A day later, as Israel's President Isaac Herzog, spoke,[105] there was "tremendous love for Israel in Congress."[106]

    Most men (and the odd woman) in power in Muslim-majority countries are autocrats. Even where there are elections, corrupt rulers play an intricate game to stay in power. Their signature move is the promise to “free” the Holy Land—that is, to eliminate the Jewish state. The rulers of Iran are explicit about this goal. Other Muslim leaders may pay lip service to the peace process and the two-state solution, but government antisemitism is frequently on display at the United Nations, where Israel is repeatedly compared to apartheid South Africa, accused of genocide and demonized as racist.

    Media also play their part. There is very little freedom of expression in Muslim-majority countries, and state-owned media churn out antisemitic and anti-Israel propaganda daily—as do even media groups that style themselves as critical of Muslim autocracies, such as Al Jazeera and Al-Manar.

    Then there are the mosques, madrassas and other religious institutions. Schools in general, especially college campuses, have been an Islamist stronghold for generations in Muslim-majority countries. That matters because graduates go on to leadership positions in the professions, media, government and other institutions.

    Omar joins Muslim Brotherhood activists in mourning Morsi while entirely overlooking his hatred and his abuses of power.

    But it’s only fitting that an antisemitic Islamist would view Morsi as a hero.

    As of this writing, heartbreakingly brave Iranian women have been protesting for 10 days and nights in the streets of at least 80 cities [now 90]. They are risking death for the right not to wear the hijab. Women have been burning their hijabs and cutting their hair. They’ve been heard chanting “Women, Life, and Freedom,” and “Death to the dictator.” The Iranian mullahs have unleashed the Revolutionary Guard and paramilitary (Basij) forces against the protestors. They have been dragging women by their hair, banging their heads on the ground, tear-gassing, beating, shooting, arresting, and murdering them. Fatality estimates range from 50-400 protesters and bystanders.

    These protests were sparked by the Sept. 16 death — in morality police custody — of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian woman. She was apprehended while in a car with her family because she was, allegedly, wearing her hijab incorrectly. While the police denied beating or torturing her to death, a photo of Amini in a hospital bed reveals her bloodied face. She was in a coma.

    During her time in Congress, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has frequently voiced concern over the influence of foreign interests on American politics — most controversially with regard to the pro-Israel community in the U.S.

    But when she visited Qatar last November to watch the World Cup, it was unclear who had paid for the trip, which the progressive lawmaker neglected to clarify. Her office did not answer questions from The New York Times in December about the funding source after she had returned.

    It turns out that the trip was funded by the Qatari government, according to an annual House financial disclosure filed in May. The new statement, which has not previously been reported, shows Qatar paid for the four-day visit to Doha that overlapped with the U.S. men’s team’s opening match against Wales. Both “food” and “lodging” were covered by the Gulf nation, the disclosure indicates.

    The Qatari Embassy in Washington, D.C., confirmed it had paid for Omar’s visit to the Gulf kingdom last year. The congresswoman “accepted an invitation from the Embassy of Qatar to attend events in Doha in November 2022,” a spokesperson told Jewish Insider last week, “as part of a program authorized under the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act,” or MECEA, which allows House members to take trips funded by foreign governments provided that the travel is later disclosed in their annual financial statements.

    The embassy did not share an exact figure for the cost of the trip, which was not listed in Omar’s financial report.

    Omar was not alone among congressional lawmakers who quietly accepted funding from Qatar to attend the World Cup last year, recent disclosures show. That shouldn’t come as a surprise, according to Jonathan Schanzer, senior vice president for research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, which has been critical of Qatar. “We see a huge amount of Qatari influence in the halls of Congress on a regular basis,” he said in an interview with JI. “I don’t think that Ilhan Omar is unique in that sense.”

    Still, Schanzer suggested that Omar’s visit stands out in particular because of her outspoken criticism of the pro-Israel lobby and its involvement in American politics — underscoring what he characterized as a kind of “selective outrage.”

    “Perhaps her most famous quip is that support for Israel is ‘all about the Benjamins,’” Schanzer said, referring to comments Omar made as a freshman that were condemned as antisemitic and for which she later apologized. “If there is a lobby right now that is truly ‘all about the Benjamins,’ it is the lobby that is spending tens of millions of dollars per year in order to acquire influence in the capital of the United States,” he said of Qatar, which has drawn condemnation for its treatment of migrant workers and ban on homosexuality, among other matters. “She does not seem to be bothered by that.”

    In a statement to JI, Jeremy Slevin, a spokesperson for Omar, defended the congresswoman’s decision to accept the junket to Doha. “Rep. Omar attended the World Cup on a delegation with several elected officials, including Democrats and Republicans,” Slevin said. “As a lifelong soccer fan, she was proud to support Team USA. She remains committed to upholding human rights and the rule of law around the world, including FIFA’s mistreatment of migrant workers, and she shared these concerns during her trip.”

    Two months before the visit, Omar was among a group of House Democrats who signed on to a letter expressing “dismay regarding FIFA’s inaction and heel-dragging on human rights abuses in Qatar” — and requesting a “written response” concerning FIFA’s “commitment to concrete steps for migrant worker compensation and empowerment.”

    But the Minneapolis lawmaker has been comparatively muted when it comes to raising concerns about Qatar itself, which has been criticized for boosting the Muslim Brotherhood and funding Hamas. On the other hand, she has frequently condemned human rights abuses not only in Israel but in other Gulf nations including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which were among a group of Arab countries that imposed a three-year blockade of Qatar beginning in 2017….

Arafat rejected Ehud Barak’s proposal, just as Mahmoud Abbas turned down the even more generous offer made by Ehud Olmert, that included having Israel relinquish possession of the Old City, placing it under international control.

    The US House of Representatives on Tuesday overwhelmingly voted in favor of a resolution condemning antisemitism and stating that Israel is not a racist state, NBC News reported.

    The vote was 412-9, with 195 Democrats joining all Republicans in voting yes. Nine Democrats voted against the non-binding resolution, several of whom have previously denounced Israel as an “apartheid state”. One Democrat voted present.

    The resolution was a Republican response to Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), who over the weekend called Israel a “racist state”, before walking back the comments and stating that she had directed them at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

    Before Tuesday’s vote, Jayapal declined to provide any lengthy comment about the GOP effort, only calling it “ridiculous” before the elevator doors closed.

    Authored by Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX), the resolution does not mention Jayapal by name but it clearly takes aim at her recent remarks, noted NBC News. It states that it’s the sense of Congress that “the State of Israel is not a racist or apartheid state,” that “Congress rejects all forms of antisemitism and xenophobia," and that “the United States will always be a staunch partner and supporter of Israel.”

    Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Wednesday addressed a joint session of Congress, following a meeting the previous day with his U.S. counterpart at the White House.

    “At this moment in my people’s history, gathering on Capitol Hill to celebrate 75 years of Israeli independence with our greatest partner and friend, the United States of America, my soul is overflowing with pride and joy. The people of Israel are grateful to no end for the ancient promise fulfilled and for the friendship we have formed,” said Herzog.

    “When the State of Israel was established in 1948, the land which the Almighty promised to Abraham, to which Moses led the Israelites, the land of the Bible, of milk and honey, evolved into an exquisite land of democracy. Against all odds, the Jewish people returned home and built a national home, which became a beautiful Israeli democracy, a mosaic of Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze and Circassians, secular, traditional and Orthodox, of all denominations and all possible views and lifestyles. A land which welcomed the ingathering of exiles from one hundred different countries,” continued Herzog.

    “A land which became the Startup Nation—a bustling hub of innovation and creativity, social action and intellectual discovery, spiritual awakening and business ventures, scientific ingenuity and lifesaving medical breakthroughs. We built a nation-state which has faced relentless war, terror and delegitimization since its birth.     Herzog then shifted attention to Iran, calling the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program “perhaps the greatest challenge Israel and the United States face at this time.

    “Let there be no doubt: Iran does not strive to attain nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Iran is building nuclear capabilities, that pose a threat to the stability of the Middle East and beyond. Every country or region controlled or infiltrated by Iran has experienced utter havoc. We have seen this in Yemen, Gaza, in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. In fact, we have seen this in Iran itself where the regime has lost its people and is suppressing them brutally. ….

    “Iran is the only nation on the planet publicly calling, plotting and developing means to annihilate another nation, a member of the family of nations, the State of Israel. … Allowing Iran to become a nuclear threshold state—whether by omission or by diplomatic commission—is unacceptable,” the Israeli leader said.

    On the issue of peace, Herzog thanked the United States for its longstanding diplomatic efforts in the region.

    “The peace which the United States brokered between Israel and its neighbors has revolutionized the Middle East. The historic peace treaties with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have demonstrated the many blessings of opting out of the cycle of war,” he said.

    “Three years ago, the Abraham Accords realigned our imaginations and our region. Israel eagerly welcomed the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco into an exclusive, warm peace between our peoples. … Israel’s hand is extended, and our heart is open, to any partner in peace—near or far.

    “Israel thanks the United States for working towards establishing peaceful relations between Israel and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a leading nation in the region and in the Muslim world. We pray for this moment to come. This would be a huge sea change in the course of history in the Middle East and the world at large,” continued Herzog.

    “My deep yearning is for Israel to one day make peace with our Palestinian neighbors. Over the years, Israel has taken bold steps towards peace and made far-reaching proposals to our Palestinian neighbors. Notwithstanding the deep political differences, and the numerous challenges that surround Israeli-Palestinian relations, and I do not ignore them, but it should be clear that one cannot talk about peace while condoning or legitimizing terror, implicitly or explicitly. True peace cannot be anchored in violence.

    “Palestinian terror against Israel or Israelis undermines any possibility for a future of peace between our peoples. Israelis are targeted while waiting for buses, while taking a stroll on the promenade, while spending time with their family.

    “At the same time, successful terror attacks are celebrated, terrorists are glorified, and their families are financially rewarded for every Israeli they attack. This is inconceivable. It is a moral disgrace. Terror is not a bump in the road. Terror is hatred and bloodshed. It contradicts humanity’s most basic principles of peace. Israel cannot and will not tolerate terror, and we know that in this we are joined by the United States of America,” added Herzog.

    “We pray for the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy, ‘Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”

    With respect to the Netanyahu government’s judicial reform initiative, Herzog expressed “great confidence in Israeli democracy.

    “Although we are working through sore [painful] issues, just like you, I know our democracy is strong and resilient. Israel has democracy in its DNA,” he said.

    “I will say to you, our friends, in English, what I have said to my people, to my sisters and brothers, in Hebrew back home: As a nation, we must find a way to talk to each other no matter how long it takes. As head of state, I will continue doing everything to reach a broad public consensus, and to preserve, protect and defend the State of Israel’s democracy,” added Herzog.

    He proceeded to stress the importance of the Jewish state’s relationship with America.

    “We are proud to be the United States’ closest partner and friend. We are grateful to the United States for the necessary means you have provided us to keep our qualitative military edge, and to enable us to defend ourselves, by ourselves,” he said.

    “This reflects your ongoing commitment to Israel’s security. We are also tremendously proud that ours is a two-way alliance, in which Israel has been making critical contributions to the national security and interests of the United States in numerous ways. Thank you, dear members of Congress, for your support of Israel throughout history, and at this critical moment in time,” added Herzog.

    The Israeli president invited a slew of guests to attend the speech, including Clifton Truman Daniels, grandson of former U.S. president Harry Truman, who recognized Israel 11 minutes after its declaration of independence in 1948.

    Herzog is also being accompanied by Leah Goldin, whose son Lt. Hadar Goldin was killed in action during the 2014 conflict with Hamas in Gaza. His body is still being held by the Palestinian terror group....
