Khmer Rouge

The Khmer Rouge was the Cambodian communist organization led by Pol Pot. They seized control of Cambodia in 1975, and were ousted by Vietnam in 1978 in response to Khmer Rouge attacks occurring on the Vietnamese/Cambodian border. However, during the four years that the group was in power, they managed to kill 2.0 to 2.5 million people, or over 25% of Cambodia's population (8 million) at the time.[1]
