Another new paper was just published in Journal of Climate. Added proof Al Gore & Company are simply lying hucksters, out for a buck. Written by eminent climatologists, called Greenland Ice Sheet Surface Air Temperature Variability: 1840–2007 which discusses data from Greenland since 1840. No unprecedented recent warming is found. For example, they find that the 1919-1932 warming was 1.33 times greater than the 1994-2007 "warming". [1] The new report mirrors one from the United States Senate back in 2007. [2]

President Obama's policies will likely lead to stagpression if he is allowed to continue his present course.[3] The Ludwig von Mises Institute has excellent videos entitled 80 Years Later: Parallels Between 1929 and 2009 and A Recipe for the Next Great Depression.

Even the liberal cable news network CNN does a video on President Obama being overexposed.[4] Americans are starting to tune Obama out. Only 28.8 million Americans watched his last prime time television appearance.[5] It appears as if familiarity may be breeding some contempt as Obama's approval ratings dropped below 50% recently in a Rassmussen Reports poll![6]

The conservative YouTube channel ConservativeNewMedia does a two part video analyzing President Obama's approval rating dropping below 50% in a recent Rassmussen Reports poll.[7][8]

The confusing chart the Democrats have a cow over; could it be that it accurately reflects their own confusing health care plan?

Talk about censorship: it isn't just the complete health care plan that Democrats don't want anyone to completely read before they pass it; it's the confusing Rube Goldberg like chart based on it as well, and they are preventing Republican House Members from sending their constituents a mailing about it:[9]

It appears as though health care reform may be Obama's Waterloo![10] Message to Tea Party activists and like minded citizens: Help push Obama's approval rating even lower among Americans by sharing the powerful video Stop Spending Our Future among your family and friends.

Conservatives still outnumber liberals 2-1 [11]

When Big Government controls education, we know it produces failure. Add a Union to the mix and what happens? An epic fail! Baltimore's most successful public Middle School is laying off Teachers and shortening its school day to meet the demands of a union. The Baltimore Teachers Union told a Charter school earlier this year that it must pay its teachers 33% more because they were working longer hours. Even though it was paying 18% more already and couldn't afford more. Teachers at a charter school working longer hours? Can't have that, says the union! Teachers’ Union wins. Children lose. [12]

Even the leftist publication The Nation reports that Obama is being misleading and failing to live up to his campaign promise of being transparent when it comes to health care reform! [13] Obama told a crowd at an August 11, 2008 town hall, "What we'll do is, we'll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies."[14] Message to Obama: When are the secret meetings with health care lobbyists going to end and the promised transparency and C-SPAN coverage going to begin?[15] It appears as though ObamaCare may be as transparent as HillaryCare!

CBSNews reports minimum wage hike raises recession fears, may prolong economic downturn and increase unemployment. [16]

Professor Values in the national news again. Henry Louis Gates Jr. a Harvard professor, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Gates was throwing insults at a police officer regarding his mother, claiming racism, and shouting and acting irrationally. Barack Hussein Obama, on the wrong side of a trivial issue, elevates the controversy by defending his crony against law enforcement: "The Cambridge police acted stupidly."[17]

Global investor Jim Rogers blast Obama and his administration for gross incompetence and immorality.[18] Jim Rogers believes recent U.S. government economic numbers are fraudulent and the worse is yet to come concerning the health of the US economy.[19]

President Obama's approval rating among Americans continues its downward trend (almost dropping while you watch) according to the Gallup Organization and is now merely 55% 54%.[20] [21] Almost 6 in 10 Americans view President Obama’s proposals to address the major problems facing America as involving too much government spending.[22] Help push Obama's approval rating among Americans below 50% and make him politically impotent by sharing the powerful video Stop Spending Our Future among your family and friends. Conservapedia is currently communicating with a leader within the Tea Party movement to help spread the video Stop Spending Our Future across America as well as other similar video content.

Cleveland Plain Dealer's Kevin O'Brien: "Obama brings his health care hustle to Cleveland." Compares Obama's pitch for his healthcare initiative to an old fashioned snake oil salesman - - "Now, some of you are bound to notice that the bottle that contains 'Dr. Obama's' enchanted brew lists no ingredients. That's because no one -- not even Dr. Obama -- really knows what's in it. His helpers in the House and the Senate are constantly adding their own pinch of this and dash of that to the recipe. But you can trust that it's good." [24]

More than six months as President, Barack Obama continues to speak about the United States as though it were someone else's country, this time in connection with the Gates' arrest controversy: "... And No. 3 -- what I think we know separate and apart from this incident -- is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that's just a fact."[25] Why doesn't Obama say, "in our country?

President Obama's rhetoric last night summoned the memory of "1984," George Orwell's novel of a nightmarish future -- where the slogan of the rulers is "War is peace; freedom is slavery; ignorance is strength." The President assures us that he will "cut" health-care spending...by adding $1 trillion + to health-care spending! He says that "health-care decisions will not be made by government". . .while he sets up a new Federal Health Board to tell doctors what treatments they can offer and to whom and under what circumstances. A new Gallup poll just released shows more Americans disapprove than approve of the way Obama is handling health care reform.[28] Also, independents are more likely to disapprove than approve of the way Obama is handling health care reform.[29] Health care is likely going to be Obama's Waterloo![30][31] The Congressional Budget Office recently warned that Obama's health care "reform" will actually increase federal health care cost than decrease federal health care cost.[32] Call the Blue Dog Democrats today and tell them they should not go down with the Obama health care "reform" ship!

Democrat Failure: Inside The Government-run Healthcare Bill. Much like the mind-boggling TARP, stimulus, Omnibus bills, so-called health care reform will be the end of individual liberty as we know it. Example: Page 59, lines 21-24 Government will have direct access to your banks accounts. [33]

Specter's 20-Point Lead Evaporates. Despite changing parties to boost his re-election prospects, liberal Senator Arlen Specter, D-Pa., is in a statistical tie (45% to 44%) with his likely Republican opponent, former Rep. Patrick Toomey, who ran unsuccessfully against Specter in 2004, according to a Quinnipiac University survey conducted July 14-19. The poll also found that 49% of Pennsylvania voters think Specter does not deserve re-election to a sixth term in the Senate. [35]

Newsflash : Mainstream media outlet Associated Press prints article critical of Obama.
In a ghastly piece, AP staff writer dares to compare Obama's closed door, smoke filled room negotiations with insurance & pharmaceutical lobbies to George W. Bush meeting with oil and gas interests or Dick Cheney on energy policy. The author says, "Obama promised...no more business as usual...to open government and hold him accountable...Instead the administrations multibillion-dollar deals....have been made in private...the public is in the dark." [36]

More Bang for the Buck. Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs & Morgan Stanley donated a combined $3 million to Obama [37], received $100 billion in bailout money, and have now spent more than $7 million of it this year lobbying Congress. [38]

If it weren't real life, it would be great TV Department: Yet another would be Obama "Czar" has been unmasked as a radical leftist wacko. Cass Sunstein's views on litigating on behalf of animals has raised concerns for Senator John Cornyn, who placed a hold on the nominee until he gets a chance to hear his views one-on-one. Cornyn finds numerous aspects of Mr. Sunstein's record troubling, specifically the fact that he wants to establish legal 'rights' for livestock, wildlife and pets, which would enable animals to file lawsuits in American courts. The Obama Administration looks more and more like a situation comedy for television. [39]

John Holdren, President Obama's Director of Office of Science and Technology Policy, advocated compulsory abortions, (Eugenics) and other draconian measures such as the creation of a "Planetary Regime" that would oversee human population levels and control all natural resources, in a 1977 science textbook. Holdren won the unanimous approval of the Senate as the President's chief science adviser. It appears that the senators who scrutinized him had no knowledge of the contents of a textbook he co-authored in 1977, "Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment", which was co-written with discredited environmental activists Paul and Anne Ehrlich, discusses and in one passage seems to advocate totalitarian measures to curb population growth, which it says could cause an environmental catastrophe. "Big Dem cash dump on eve of climate vote: Three House Democratic leaders who were whipping members on the climate change bill gave tens of thousands in campaign cash to party moderates around the time of the 219-212 vote on June 26, according to Federal Election Commission records."[44]

Watchdog: TARP tab could hit $24 trillion! The inspector general in charge of overseeing the Treasury Department's bank-bailout program says the massive endeavor could end up costing taxpayers almost $24 trillion in a worst-case scenario. 50 other programs that began as early as 2007 could push the government's total financial support of the financial sector to at least $23.7 trillion, says TARP Special Inspector General Neil Barofsky. The Obama Treasury for months has refused his recommendation that TARP recipients be required to reveal exactly what they do with the money, calling it "meaningless". [45]

Forty Years Ago, July 20, 1969, The United States Apollo 11 Spacecraft Landed On The Moon.
American hero Neil Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the Moon, speaking the now immortal words: "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." He placed the Flag of the United States of America on the surface, and a commemorative plaque which read: "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot on the moon July 1969, A.D. We came in peace for all mankind." No other country, even forty years later, can come close to matching what America has accomplished in furthering innovation and promoting freedom for the entire world. We remain the singular beacon of hope for the world's salvation!

U.K. Airlines To Turn Away Suspected ‘Swine Flu’ Passengers. Holidaymakers suspected of having swine flu will be prevented from checking in and required to provide doctors’ notes saying that they are fit to fly, airlines said yesterday. The news comes just before one of the busiest weeks of the year for airports, with thousands of families preparing to go on holiday. [49]

  • ABC / WaPO Poll Shows Obama Slipping Fast on Key Issues; Approval Rating on Health Care Falls Below 50%. Obama's approval ratings on other front-burner issues, such as the economy and the federal budget deficit, have also slipped over the summer, as rising voter concern about spending and continuing worries about the economy are causing a shift in support. ANALYSIS: States Hit Hardest by Recession Get Least Stimulus $$ From Obama and Congress: Examination has found a perverse pattern: the states hardest hit by the recession received the least money. States with higher bankruptcy, foreclosure and unemployment rates got less money. And higher income states received more. Example - a mere $504 per capita in Florida, to the highest, at $3,712 per capita in D.C.. More proof that with liberals, and Liberal Myths, there is nothing we can believe in! [57]

Mr. "Most Trusted Man in America" Walter Cronkite wanted America to lose much of its sovereignty. "It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace," he said. "To do that, of course, we Americans will have to yield up some of our sovereignty. That would be a bitter pill. It would take a lot of courage, a lot of faith in the new order." [58]

Yesterday marked the 40th anniversary of the death of Mary Jo Kopechne in Chappaquiddick, Massachusetts, killed July 18, 1969 after leaving a party with Senator Edward Kennedy. Congressional Budget Director Warns Health Care Bills Will Raise Health-care Costs. Yes, the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee has approved a "health-care reform bill" that allows just that. Dick Morris's Catastrophe: How Obama, Congress, and the Special Interests Are Transforming a Slump Into a Crash, Freedom Into Socialism, and a Disaster Into a Catastrophe hits No.1 on New York Times Bestseller List

Back in May, NBC sycophantically touted President Obama’s credentials as a constitutional law professor as evidence of his deep experience when it came to the judiciary. But after his nominee to the Supreme Court told senators on Tuesday that she "wouldn’t approach the issue of judging in the way the President does," none of the networks juxtaposed that slap with the President’s supposed brilliance as a constitutional scholar. [70]

The average public school student spends more than "104 hours and 24 minutes per month watching television." [71] The liberal public school system fails to instill in students a desire for serious education. Homeschooling does instill these values: instead of boosting advertising revenue for The Daily Show, homeschoolers are learning!

The health care plan demanded by President Obama and supported by the amoral, leftist Democrats in both the House and the Senate will require that abortion on demand be included as a health benefit in both public and private insurance plans, leading to millions more baby murders yearly. It seems the decision to kill more babies wasn't above his "pay grade" after all.... [72]
And more: the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on a bill that will force you to pay for abortions in the District of Columbia. Call the House switchboard at 202-225-3121. Tell them NO on H.R. 3170.

Out Of Touch With Reality: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said that job growth and economic recovery will not be harmed by a Democrat scheme to increase income taxes by $540 billion to pay for their health-care proposal because the tax hikes would not affect small businesses. Hoyer said he could not think of any small business owners who make enough money to qualify ($280K) for the higher taxes. This even though government statistics show the average income of small businesses back in 2006 was $233,600. [73]

We Told You So Department: Alert Al Gore! A new peer-reviewed study may shake the foundation upon which man-made global warming fears are based. The new study discovered "something fundamentally wrong with the way temperature and carbon are linked in climate models." The study, which was published on July 14, 2009 in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Geoscience, found CO2 was not to blame for a major ancient global warming period and instead found “unknown processes accounted for much of warming in the ancient hot spell.” The press release for the study was headlined: "Global warming: Our best guess is likely wrong."

"In a nutshell, theoretical models cannot explain what we observe in the geological record," said oceanographer Gerald Dickens, a co-author of the study and professor of Earth science at Rice University. "There appears to be something fundamentally wrong with the way temperature and carbon are linked in climate models." [76] , [77] and [78]

Dick Morris: "In the polling hierarchy, the least significant data measure is a President's personal popularity. Obama's approval, in the latest Rasmussen Poll, has now dipped to 51%, one point less than his 2008 vote share of 52%. So now, Obama's starting to lose people who backed him last November. It's amazing how quickly Obama has lost his lead. Most polls had his job-approval dropping 13 points in his first three months, and current trends suggest that Obama is in for rough sledding -- his job-approval ratings will quickly fall further." [80]

Down The Rabbit Hole Award: Over the weekend, on his syndicated The Chris Matthews Show, Chris Matthews asked his leftist media panel if Barack Obama was governing as "more clearly a radical like FDR was, or more like a true conservative?" The latter part of the question -- the absurd proposition of Obama being a conservative -- actually drew a couple of affirmatives from the clearly out-of-touch liberal panel ! [81]

As temperatures continue to drop, Al Gore continues to promote the global warming scam:
"HEATHER EWART: There was also, though, a British judge who ruled that there were in fact, I think, nine errors when it was challenged in court?
AL GORE: "Well, the ruling was in my favor. ..."[82]
In fact, there were nine errors in Gore's movie as demonstrated in court, but Al Gore refuses to admit it. Also, the judge held, 'I conclude that the claimant substantially won this case by virtue of my finding that, but for the new guidance note, the film would have been distributed in breach of sections 406 and 407 of the 1996 Education Act.'"[83]

Does Congress really care about Americans, let alone Americans' health care? Conservapedia prays for its departing summer charity workers. Each year more than 5% of Conservapedians travel to impoverished areas of the world to give care, thanks in part to donations by other Conservapedians. The "surprise" was that liberals are markedly less charitable than conservatives.[116] Conservatives also donate more time and give more blood.[117] Per capita atheists and agnostics in the United States give significantly less to charity than theists even when church giving is not counted for theists![118][119][120]

Obama does another Bushism, declares Putin President of Russia. [121] Then Obama looks into his soul:

"I am aware of all the extraordinary work you done on behalf of the people of Russia."

For example, jailing your opposition candidate before the election [122] or the liquidation of outspoken critics.[123]

NASA Astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin Rejects Global Warming Fears: Former Vice President and warming huckster Al Gore has compared skeptics of man-made climate fears to "people who still believe that the Moon landing was staged on a movie lot in Arizona." Gore is apparently ignorant that his analogy has been refuted by two of NASA's moonwalkers themselves -- Moonwalker and NASA Astronaut/Geologist Jack Schmitt - who recently declared he was a global warming skeptic and now, NASA Astronaut and Moonwalker Dr. Buzz Aldrin. Aldrin -- who earned a Doctorate of Science in Astronautics at MIT -- declared he was skeptical of man-made climate fears in a July 3, 2009 Daily Telegraph interview. [126]

First amendment issue over public school ordering 7th grader to remove her Pro-life T-shirt. On National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day, McSwain Elementary School principle Terrie Rohrer humiliated and ridiculed student to remove her T-shirt and confiscated it. "The message of the T-shirt is that life is sacred," and secular public schools have a problem with that truth. [127]

GlobalTemps June2009.jpg

8 Year Downtrend Continues in Global Temps. Dr. Roy Spencer announced on his blog that June’s anomaly globally using the Aqua satellite dropped to 0.001C. This continues the downtrend that started after 2001, and is another indicator Global Warming alarmism is a certain hoax. Also it was reported today: Sea Level Rise; A Major Non-existent Threat Exploited by Alarmists: Truth about sea level is a major casualty of the war to implement whatever is deemed necessary to implement legislation to increase Big Government power and control, Income redistribution. Obama's buddy Hugo Chavez "tightens his grip" by taking control over one-fifth of deposits: "President Hugo Chavez's government assumed control of Venezuela's third-largest bank on Friday — making the state the largest player in the nation's banking system. The purchase of the Spanish-owned Banco de Venezuela gives Chavez's socialist government control over more than one-fifth of bank deposits as he tightens his grip over the economy."[134]

In Contention For 2009's "Duh" Award: Colin Powell, who broke ranks with the Republican Party last year to endorse Barack Obama, is now concerned that the President's agenda is increasing the size of government and the federal debt to alarming levels. "I never would have believed that we would have budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars, and we are amassing a huge, huge national debt that...our kids and grandkids and great grandchildren will have to pay for..." Someone should tell General Powell that Obama talked about his ideas for bigger government and huge spending constantly during the 2008 campaign. [135]

New gimmick for public schools to conceal their failure: replace 0% with 40% as the lowest possible grade. "I like the idea," Superintendent Wayne Alexander told a Tampa newspaper. "I think we need to (change) the way we look at grades. The failure range is so (wide) if you think about it. It's not fair."[136]

Hollywood Values emerge about Michael Jackson: "The 'dope', it seems, was not only prescription drugs. Another close aide told me: 'Michael fought a cocaine addiction three years ago. He became addicted because he needed energy. 'The last few years of his life were extremely horrible for him. He could barely function unless he was on drugs. He was totally dependent.'[137]

Sarah Palin.jpg

Sarah Palin announces that she will resign as Governor of Alaska. "Some say things changed for me on August 29th last year - the day John McCain tapped me to be his running-mate - I say others changed. Let me speak to that for a minute.

Political operatives descended on Alaska last August, digging for dirt. The ethics law I championed became their weapon of choice. Over the past nine months I've been accused of all sorts of frivolous ethics violations - such as holding a fish in a photograph, wearing a jacket with a logo on it, and answering reporters' questions.

Every one - all 15 of the ethics complaints have been dismissed. We've won! But it hasn't been cheap - the State has wasted THOUSANDS of hours of YOUR time and shelled out some two million of YOUR dollars to respond to "opposition research" - that's money NOT going to fund teachers or troopers - or safer roads. And this political absurdity, the "politics of personal destruction" ... Todd and I are looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesn't cost them a dime so they're not going to stop draining public resources - spending other peoples' money in their game." • Public support for Sotomayer confirmation plunges after Supreme Court overrules bad decision. [147]

The World Socialist Web Site relies on claims by Richard Lenski as support for its article entitled, "Marx and Darwin: Two great revolutionary thinkers of the nineteenth century." Bad flaws in the taxpayer-funded work of Lenski have been exposed on Conservapedia, and he never corrected the errors or complied with requests for his data.

Scientists Write Open Letter to Congress: "You Are Being Deceived About Global Warming -- Earth has been cooling for ten years. Present cooling was NOT predicted by the alarmists' computer models, and has come as an embarrassment to them" [148]

The Secular progressive / Liberal MSM Lie To Cover Their Own: Frank Lombard is an associate director at Duke University's Global Health Institute and a homosexual who was charged last week with the molestation of his adopted 5-year-old black son and actively trying to sell him for sex on the Internet. In the week since Lombard was arrested, not one national broadcast or cable television news show has picked up the story, and only 17 newspapers in the United States featured it – a majority of which are only small local newspapers. Compare this to:

  • The weeks on end of sensationally lurid coverage of the white male lacrosse players of the same university charged with rape several years ago.
  • The national uproar the false allegations against Senator John McCain concerning his purported affair with a lobbyist.
  • The sensational, non-stop coverage of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's marital infidelity.

Perhaps the real story here is that the MSM expects such behavior from liberals and is only interested in reporting such items when it concerns conservatives? [149]

Are liberals sure they want Judge Sotomayor to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court? The testimony and record of this man - convicted of murder despite evidence of innocence that Sotomayor ignored - is pretty powerful, and he's determined to speak at her confirmation hearing: [150]

More Americans See Democratic Party As “Too Liberal”: A Gallup Poll finds a statistically significant increase since last year in the percentage of Americans who describe the Democratic Party's views as being "too liberal," from 39% to 46%. This is the largest percentage saying so since November 1994. The increasing perception of the Democrats as too far left comes as President Obama and the Democrats in Congress have expanded the government's role in the economy and are working towards a government take-over of healthcare. [152]

Canada Flag.png

Today Canada celebrates its 142nd year since Confederation. Canada Day celebrates the events that occurred on July 1, 1867, when the British North America Act created the Canadian federal government. The BNA Act proclaimed "one Dominion under the name of Canada," hence the original title of the holiday, "Dominion Day."

As America prepares to celebrate its 233rd birthday this weekend, 82% of American adults say that if given the choice of living anywhere in the world, they would still choose to live in the United States. Just 11% (most likely all liberals) say they would not choose to live in America. [153]

Dictators and Obama's Double Standards: When it came to the rigged election in Iran, Barack Obama played it cool in his public statements, earning the approval of the liberal MSM like the New York Times. But when the Honduran military toppled that country's corrupt leftist president, the Times embraced Obama for speaking out against the "coup", even though the Honduran Supreme Court and Congress declared his actions unconstitutional -- the same kind of internal "meddling" he refused to do for the people of Iran. [154]

MSNBC’s Advice to GOP: Time to Dump "Morals and Values" Daytime anchor Contessa Brewer: "We’re talking about these personalities and who can be the leader of the Republican Party. What about their policies? Until they change policies — I mean, that’s what it took for conservatives in Great Britain to win — is a real change in focus away from morals and values into things that affect people’s daily lives." This shows that "conservatives" outside of the U.S. are not some equivalent to those here, and that the so-called MSM has moved so far left they have completely fallen off the table. [161]

Polar Bear Expert Barred by Global Warming Alarmists From Polar Bear Specialist Group Conference: Dr. Mitchell Taylor, who has studied the animals for 30 years, was told his views "are extremely unhelpful". This is one of a steady drizzle of events planned to stoke up alarm in the run-up to the UN's major conference on climate change in Copenhagen next December. But one of the world's leading experts on polar bears has been told to stay away from this week's meeting, specifically because his views on global warming do not agree with those of the rest of the group. More than once since 2006, Dr Mitchell Taylor has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. Yet another inconvenient truth for the liberal Euro Socialists. [164], [165] and [166]

FIRST AMENDMENT BLOCKBUSTER: Today the "Court has set up a blockbuster case about Americans’ First Amendment rights to join together and speak freely about politics," declares the Institute for Justice. "A majority of the High Court appears to recognize the grave threat to free speech posed by both the electioneering communications ban in McCain-Feingold and the ban on corporate political speech. [The Hillary Clinton] case could mark a significant advance for First Amendment rights and will have major implications for state laws nationwide."[167]

The EPA freezes out a contrary global warming report. [172] [173]

  • "Carlin's report listed a number of recent developments he said the EPA did not consider, including that global temperatures have declined for 11 years; that new research predicts Atlantic hurricanes will be unaffected; that there's "little evidence" that Greenland is shedding ice at expected levels; and that solar radiation has the largest single effect on the earth's temperature."

Sen. James Inhofe orders an investigation. "They don't want the truth at the EPA, We're going to expose it."[174]

Sotomayor Overturned

The U.S. Supreme Court has held (5-4) that reverse discrimination by government is unconstitutional, "reversing a decision that high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge."[175] Full ruling here.

Key Obama economic consultant Warren Buffett says cap and trade is a massive tax on the poor. [177]

The Wall Street Journal cites a number of sources showing that Obama's polling numbers are falling to earth.[178] According to the Wall Street Journal "Polling data show that Mr. Obama's approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001."[179] Watch future data relevant to Obama's approval ratings appear buried somewhere deep inside the liberal New York Times!

  • 76% say government will likely waste stimulus money [180]
  • 53% say more government spending will hurt the economy. [181]
  • 67% trust their own economic judgment over the government's. [182]
  • 92% say adultery is morally wrong. [183]

Clearly, the facts show Americans are more conservative today than ten years ago in the heyday of Clintonism!

Newt Gingrich On Cap and Trade / Global Warming: "The Obama White House has spent the week furiously working to convince its fellow Democrats in Congress to support the global warming bill that's before the House today. Former Vice President Al Gore has been working the phones, and there was even a luau at the White House last night. The question that must be asked, however, is why? If the case is closed on man's role in causing climate change, as the left assure us that it is, then why the need to twist Democratic arms to do something about it? My guess is it has something to do with 2+2=4." [192]

The sky is the limit when describing the hypocrisy of the Democrat majority. No matter how corrupt the MSM is, not a single Democrat will talk bad about their allies. It's talk radio they are after. No matter how many criminal lawsuits are filed against ACORN, Democrats want nothing to do with investigating their own. [193]

The Catholic Church in Boston is set to become a partner in the abortion industry. Massachusetts subsidizes healthcare, “abortion” and “family planning” are covered services. Catholic hospitals such as Caritas Christi Healthcare System have to conform to state requirements or close down. American Life League is trying to stop this scandal. This will repeat itself nationwide if Universal Health becomes law. [200]

John Stossel is thinking more about how health insurance, private or government-run, destroys the individual’s incentive to shop around. "People spending their own money and dealing directly with doctors is the only thing that honors individuals’ different preferences and controls costs. How can we hold costs down at all if the market isn’t allowed to work? The pundits write about the popularity of Medicare. Of course it’s popular. People love getting free stuff. But Medicare is on an unsustainable path. It is more than 30 trillion dollars in the red!" [202]

Can food taste too good? Yes, if you're New York Times health columnist Tara Parker-Pope. She celebrates former FDA head David Kessler's book blaming the food industry for making us fat: "But food scientists work hard to reach the precise point at which we derive the greatest pleasure from fat, sugar and salt." Scandalous! Look for liberals to demand Obama appoint a "Food Czar" to enforce their idea of good eating upon us all. [204]

Uber Liberal Chris Matthews, never known for his logic, mocked Florida GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio for pondering, on his Twitter page, that the "situation in Iran would be a little different if they had a 2nd Amendment like ours." Matthews, completely clueless that the point our Founding Fathers understood was that it is much harder to repress a free people that is armed, derided Rubio in the Sideshow portion of his June 22nd Hardball. More proof that liberals would rather see a people enslaved than admit the right to keep and bear arms is our best defense against a repressive government. [205]

Cap-and-tax vote is this week, and liberals want government control over energy. "The average cost of a proposed cap-and-trade program in legislation before the US House would be $175/household in 2020, or $22 billion nationwide, the Congressional Budget Office said on June 19."[206]

President Obama, sounding increasingly incoherent from job stress, offered this malapropism on Tuesday:

"If private insurers say that the marketplace provides the best quality health care; if they tell us that they're offering a good deal, then why is it that the government, which they say can't run anything, suddenly is going to drive them out of business? That's not logical.” [207]

Public Schools 101 Or What Happens When Liberals And Unions Control Our Schools: Hundreds of New York City public school teachers accused of offenses ranging from insubordination to sexual misconduct are being paid their full salaries ($70,000 or more) to sit around all day playing Scrabble, surfing the Internet or just staring at the wall, if that's what they want to do. Because their union contract makes it extremely difficult to fire them, 700 teachers have been banished by the school system to its "rubber rooms" — off-campus office space where they wait months, even years, for their disciplinary hearings. The city Department of Education estimates the practice costs the taxpayers $65 million a year! [208]

Islamic Attire Symbolizes ‘Servitude and Humiliation,’ Says French President Nicolas Sarkozy “It is not a religious symbol...It is a symbol of servitude and humiliation.” The burqa, he told a special session of the National Assembly at the Palace of Versailles, "would not be welcome on French soil." Three different times in his speech to the “Muslim world” in Cairo early this month, a submissive President Obama defended the right of Muslim women to cover up their bodies. Never once did he mention the right of Muslim women to refuse to cover up their bodies – a right denied on pain of arrest and death by many Muslim countries. [210]
