The View is a talk show that airs weekdays on ABC. It was created by Barbara Walters in 1997 and features four to six female panelists discussing the issues of the day from a generally liberal perspective. In January 2022, ABC News finally suspended holocaust denier Karen[2] Whoopi Goldberg after 14 seasons.[3] (Initially stating the ban's for two weeks[4]).

The show bills itself as a popular public affairs information resource. In 2020, host Whoopi Goldberg promoted the presidential candidacy of Joe Biden and nepotism, suggesting Biden should appoint his wife as Surgeon General whom Goldberg claimed was "a really good Doctor"; by law, the Surgeon General must be a medically certified doctor. Biden's wife, Dr. Jill Biden, holds a PhD in education.[8]
