Harley Edwin Rouda, Jr. (born December 10, 1961 (age 64)) is a lawyer and establishment Democrat currently representing California's 48th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
U.S. House of Representatives
2018 election
Rouda ran for and won election to the United States House of Representatives in the 2018 Midterm elections, supposedly defeating Republican then-incumbent Dana Rohrabacher by seven points;[1] this was after several thousand ballots were "discovered" past the election day.[2] Voter fraud had been suspected that election cycle.[3] A later analysis revealed that statewide ballot harvesting had favored Democrat candidates.[4]
Tenure
Despite having campaigned on a supposedly moderate platform to get into office,[5] Rouda is a highly partisan Democrat who has voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time.[6]
Rouda supported[7] and voted in favor of[8] the impeachment coup against Donald Trump.
Rouda has ridicuously compared Donald Trump to Hitler over strong criticisms of the lamestream media;[9] note that totalitarian dictators usually do not by any means allow for the media to report negatively on them.
Controversies
It was reported in late September 2020 that Rouda apparently had a restraining order filed against him by his own mother.[10]
Rouda allegedly had hired a violent criminal to stalk on his 2020 Republican opponent Michelle Steel.[11]
