Conor James Lamb (born June 27, 1984 in Washington, D.C. (age 42)) is a U.S. federal prosecutor, Marine Corps veteran, and liberal Democrat currently representing Pennsylvania's 17th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives.

U.S. House of Representatives

2018 special election

After RINO then-representative Tim Murphy resigned from Congress following an abortion scandal involving a mistress,[2] Lamb ran for the seat, and was nominated in the Democrat convention that was held in November 2017.[3] He later won the special election held on March 13, 2020 by an extremely slim margin of less than 1,000 votes over Republican opponent Rick Saccone.[4]

2018 general election

Although having ran in the 18th district for the special election, Lamb ran in the 17th district for the general election due to redistricting. He was unopposed in the Democrat primary and later won the general election by over ten points.[5]

Tenure

Despite campaigning on a pragmatic and arguably moderate platform which included praising President Trump's tariff policies,[6] Rep. Lamb proved to be a leftist once in the House for a full term. Evidence for this lies in the fact that after winning the special election to briefly serve in the 115th United States Congress, Lamb voted with Trump around two-thirds of the time,[7] though the number dropped to a mere 8.6% for the 116th U.S. Congress. In addition, despite campaigning on a refusal to support Nancy Pelosi,[8] he has voted with her over 80% of the time in the 115th Congress.[9] In late March 2020, Trump noted Lamb as an "American fraud"[10] and endorsed the latter's 2020 Republican challenger Sean Parnell.

Rep. Lamb supported and voted in favor of the impeachment coup against Donald Trump.[11]

2020 election

Lamb is running for re-election in 2020.

It was reported in July 2020 that Lamb's campaign manager and brother wished Parnell to "Burn in hell and die".[12] (see also: Left-wing violence in the Trump era)

It was reported in early September 2020 that CNN hack Jake Tapper meddled in the election by attempting on numerous occasions to convince Parnell to drop out of the race;[13] unsurprisingly, a poll later found that the race was at a statistical tie.[14]

An intern working for Lamb was caught engaging in voter intimidation.[15]
