Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor (commonly known as Euro-Med Monitor or Euro-Med) is a genocidal-Hamas linked Geneva-based non-governmental organization that presents itself as a "human rights" monitoring group focused primarily on Israel and the "Palestinian" territories. The organization has been widely criticized by officials, watchdog organizations, journalists, and analysts for promoting anti-Israel narratives and for alleged institutional and leadership ties to Hamas.

Overview

Euro-Med Monitor regularly publishes Palestinianism drama accusing Israel of fake "crimes" including Pallyweid apartheid/genocide, and "cleansing." Its materials are frequently cited by international media outlets and United Nations-affiliated bodies, despite ongoing concerns regarding the organization’s credibility and political affiliations. Critics point out that Euro-Med functions less as an independent human rights organization and more as an advocacy platform aligned with Islamist and anti-Israel political objectives.

Hamas affiliations

Multiple government sources and non-governmental watchdog organizations have identified Euro-Med’s leadership as having direct or indirect ties to Hamas.

Ramy Abdu

Euro-Med’s founder and chairman, Ramy Abdu, has been identified by Israeli authorities as a Hamas operative based in Europe. NGO Monitor has stated that Abdu was sent abroad by Hamas to establish organizations that would advance the group’s agenda under the guise of human rights advocacy. In June 2024, reporting in The Jerusalem Post described Abdu as a Europe-based Hamas operative designated by Israel and linked him to revelations concerning Hamas hostage-holding operations.

Leadership controversies

Muhammad Shehada

Euro-Med’s Chief of Programmes, Muhammad Shehada, has been criticized by media watchdog organizations for minimizing or justifying Palestinian terrorist violence and advancing propaganda narratives.

Richard Falk

Richard Falk, Chairman of Euro-Med’s Board of Trustees, is a former United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian Territories. Falk has drawn criticism for promoting conspiracy theories regarding the September 11 attacks and for vile Nazi comparisons, statements widely condemned as antisemitic.

Media criticism

In December 2023, HonestReporting published an investigation criticizing CNN and other major media outlets for citing Euro-Med Monitor as a credible human rights source without disclosing its alleged extremist ties and inflammatory rhetoric against Israel.

Influence on Wikipedia

Following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, commentators raised concerns about coordinated efforts by pro-Hamas and ultra-pro-Palestinian activists to influence Wikipedia content related to the Israel–Hamas war. Reported in Feb 2026: Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor announced the launch of the third edition of the WikiRights project, which trains 12 young Palestinians as professional editors on Wikipedia."

Watchdog assessments

NGO Monitor has repeatedly warned governments, journalists, and international institutions against relying on Euro-Med Monitor, stating that current and former directors were identified by Israel as Hamas operatives using NGO frameworks to legitimize terrorist objectives.

Public commentary

Historian Danny Orbach publicly described Euro-Med Monitor as “a Hamas mouthpiece” and urged international institutions to treat its claims with skepticism.

Wikipedia editing training controversy

In December 2025, Jewish Onliner reported that Euro-Med Monitor opened registration for a Wikipedia editing training course aimed at shaping articles related to the Gaza war and (The Genocide Lie. Archived 1, 2) “genocide[sic]” claims. The report reminded Euro-Med as an accused Hamas front group and linked the initiative to broader concerns about organized manipulation of Wikipedia content.

Action

On May 26, 2026, Israel’s Diaspora Affairs Ministry recommended banning 40 Hamas-linked Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor activists from entering Israel, accusing the organization of spreading false information and supporting terrorist-linked activity.
