Islamofacism is a term, popularized by Christopher Hitchens, to refer to the facist ideologies of some Muslim countries and individuals.
The basic tenets are an establishment of a new Caliphate in the Middle East, through the use of terrorism, revolutions, and the extermination of Israel. Islamofacism is very common among Muslim populations and is the ideology behind many of the enemies of the United States, like the Taliban, the government of Iran, and Palestinian nationalists. Liberals have been very critical of the term despite the fact that most of the values of islamofascism are the direct opposite of those of liberalism. Conservatism is a happy medium of the two extremes.
