The Texas - born perpetrator, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, born October 26, 1982, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen of Muslim faith, who drove a pickup truck into a large crowd on Canal Street and Bourbon Street in the French Quarter in New Orleans. The convert to Islam who ‘grew increasingly devout’,[3] carried an ISIS flag and was inspired by the Islamic State and had Qur’an opened to verse promising paradise to those who ‘kill and are killed’.[4]
The mosque, the Imam
