Al-Nusra Front is a terrorist Islamist organization and former Syrian offshoot of the Al-Qaeda. It fights in the Syrian Civil War against Bashar al-Assad. It is known for the persecution of Christians and Alawites. But it does also fight the Free Syrian Army.[1] In July 2016 the Al-Nusra Front claimed it will have no more ties with Al Qaeda. The United States, which considers Nusra a terrorist organization, said that the U.S. continues to assess that Nusra leaders intend to attack the West.[2]
