Ukraine Counter Offensive
From: https://www.economist.com/europe/2023/06/14/ukraines-counter-offensive-is-making-mixed-progress
"Ukraine’s counter-offensive is now into its second week. Its shape is gradually becoming clearer. One long-standing axis points east, at the area around the bloodily contested town of Bakhmut and in Luhansk province. A new one aims south and south-east from Velyka Novosilka and Vuhledar in Donetsk province. And a third has opened in the south, where Ukrainian troops are battling their way south around the town of Orikhiv in Zaporizhia province, which forms the central part of the war’s long front line. They are making progress. But neither side has committed its reserves and the most important fighting may not occur for another week or so.
The thrust in Donetsk so far appears to have been the most successful. Ukraine used seven brigades near Velyka Novosilka to liberate around 60 sq km of territory within four days, says Konrad Muzyka of Rochan Consulting, a firm that tracks the war. That included a cluster of villages hugging the Mokri Yaly river, including Blahodatne, liberated on June 11th; Storozheve, where video footage showed marines walking through the village and brandishing a Ukrainian flag in the centre; and Makarivka to the south. The tiny villages of Urozhaine and Staromaiorske may be next."
I predict that, come Christmas 2023:
(1) Russia would have suffered around 330,000 losses (it's at 215,000 now), (2) The Ukrainian Counter Offensive will be largely successful, as was taking Kharkiv back last year (I said the same to my pro-Russia friends elsewhere before it happened, about that Kharkiv counter offensive, and they didn't think it would happen, and then it did) (3) Once F-16s are fully operational, to protect Ukrainian Skies, the Kremlin's campaign of terror will be over, and attacks on Ukrainian civilian facilities and other War Crimes will become effectively impossible, because F-16s add to Ukraine's already strong air defenses. (4) Though some experts are predicting otherwise, I'd say there is a good chance (70% or so) that this War ends within 1 year/Jun 2024.
Of course, no one knows the future with 100% certainty. These are educated guesses based on past occurrences and current realities. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 04:55, June 15, 2023 (EDT)
- NishantXavier, by Christmas, how many losses will the Ukrainians have suffered? And what do you base your estimate on? Remember, in offensives, the ones on offense tend to take more casualties. Also, watch the Professor John Joseph Mearsheimer video: "Ukraine Did Well in 2022, But..." | John Mearsheimer On Russia's Firepower Advantage, Biden's Fate. Conservative (talk) 07:02, June 15, 2023 (EDT)
Cons: it was an extrapolation from past data. The War began on Feb 24, 2022. Around June 2022, if memory serves, I noticed that Russia was losing nearly 10,000 troops a month. So I posted on a forum that by Christmas (10 months into the War) 2022, they would lose roughly 100,000. Sure enough, here is what the losses were on Dec 25, 2022: https://twitter.com/DefenceU/status/1606962052643405824?lang=en (102,000 roughly, so quite close). Russia was forced to do increased mobilizations (which led to many Russians fleeing the country, draft dodging by breaking legs etc), and as your Prof Mearsheimer said, Ukraine on the whole did quite well in 2022. In another 6 months since then, Russia has lost a further 115,000. So I predict in another 6 months, they will lose roughly the same amount again, especially once F-16s are in play on the battlefield. With every War Crime Russia commits, Ukraine's resolve to win and NATO's resolve to support them, and eventually induct them as a full member, only grows. Last year, I said HIMARS would make a significant difference once they were supplied: "The HIMARS weapons America supplied to Ukraine may just end up making the difference. According to the below, Russian defenses against them are not working as planned." https://www.suscipedomine.com/forum/index.php?topic=27620.1785 Even a few days ago, they did: "Russians Furious After Ukraine HIMARS Strike ‘Kills 100 Troops Waiting for Commander’s Speech’", https://www.kyivpost.com/post/18292 Biden was too weak compared to how e.g. a Reagan would have been. If the weapons had gone faster, the Victory would have come faster. But better late than never. Once F-16s, and perhaps ATACMS are in, Ukraine can hardly lose. Ukraine still has a large pool of dedicated professionals, both men and women, working to defend their country. "More than 60,000 Ukrainian women serve in the Ukrainian military defending against Russia’s aggression." https://it.usembassy.gov/ukrainian-women-fight-for-their-countrys-future/
"Ukraine has "probably the best army in the world at the moment," retired Australian army major Mick Ryan said in March ...
As of 2023, Russia had an estimated 1,330,900 people listed among its total military personnel, compared with 500,000 for Ukraine, according to data published by Statista in February." https://www.newsweek.com/ukraine-army-best-world-compared-russia-us-military-china-1791441 Russia cannot to squander all its 1 MN soldiers because it needs soldiers to defend its homeland and vast territory. Ukraine will fight to the last man, or last woman, because its fighting for its own homeland and territory. Ukraine is also mostly taking fewer losses.
"According to Ukraine’s General Staff, as of 14 June 2023, Russia lost 217,330 troops killed in action. As of June 2023, Ukraine has lost equipment at a rate three times lower than Russia in the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, according to the visually confirmed losses tracker Oryx; its tank losses are even lower: one-fourth of Russia’s." https://euromaidanpress.com/2023/06/14/russia-loses-five-times-more-troops-than-ukraine-on-the-southern-front-ukraines-deputy-defense-minister/ NishantXavierFor Christ the King 01:12, June 17, 2023 (EDT)

| "The Soviet Union, during that critical period following the death of Stalin up until the rise of Leonard Brezhnev, what was it 1964-65, Khrushchev was a Ukrainian, born in Ukraine. He ran the Communist Party in Kiev. So this Union between the old Soviets and Russia and Ukraine, I mean this is nothing of this current development. We have where Ukraine is trying to pretend that it's this unique Nation complete and distinct from Russia. It's just a fantasy. It is the same kind of thing that you see within the West, where all these people declare that they're transgender. They deny biological sex. They deny the biological reality of male and female. They pretend that they're something else. Well, Ukraine is a transgender country in that sense, trying to pretend that it's something that it is not, ignoring its long-standing close ties with Russia. Ignoring the fact that Khrushchev was the one who gave Ukraine many of the benefits that it insists in claims now. "Crimea belongs to us". No it doesn't. That was Khrushchev turned that over to Ukraine back then, because he could. But in fact Crimea was long-standing part of Russia. And without understanding that part of History, you know that old saying that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And the Ukrainians, I think what Russia is looking to do, that's where they talked about demilitarizing denazifying, is to erase or at least eliminate those in positions of power who have pushed this nonsense. |

It is those passport holders now, under Zelensky's martial law decrees, who are being targeted by Ukraine's modern version of Einsatzgruppen (Special Detachments) who follow the main attacking force into villages and settlements and exterminate anyone with a Russian passport or suspected of collaboration (a collaborator is anyone who uses their iphone to give away the position of troops or storage dumps, which is being done by civilians on both sides). - Updated casualty figures: Since the counteroffensive began, Ukraine has lost 10,000-12,000, Russia lost 1,000. (In the Fall 2022 Counteroffensive, Ukraine lost 24,000 troops to retake the Kharkov region which was occupied by the Russian federal anti-drug and anti-organized crime SWAT unit - an outfit not trained or equipped for combat against a foreign army. Because of Russia's close proximity to Afghanistan, and Russia being used a smuggling route for Afghan heroin to Western Europe for centuries, Russia has a more extensive federal "black helicopter" outfit (the Rosgvardia) than the US Drug Enforcement Agency or the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team to combat drug trafficking and organized crime across its vast open spaces. They were in Ukraine to assist the Russian Investigative Committee (something like the FBI) investigate Nazi war crimes in the liberated territories. They held off the NATO/Ukraine attack on the ground despite a lack of combat training and equipment while the Russian artillery and airforce inflicted 24,000 casualties, until the evacuation was complete.) In 2023, Ukraine only had a force of about 200,000 under arms, including reserves, remaining at the start of the counteroffensive. Russia has matched that in Ukraine, with an additional 300,000+ in Belarus and the frontline of Russia proper. The only way to save Ukraine is with NATO troops. US CongressA lone US Congressman introduces resolution demanding provision of ATACMS to Ukraine [not likely to get a floor vote]
"On Friday, members of the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs representing the Democratic and Republican parties announced a resolution calling on President Joe Biden's administration to hand over ATACMS long-range missiles to Ukraine.
According to Republican Michael McCall, the co-author of the Resolution, and chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, if the United States does not provide Ukraine with all the necessary weapons, it will help prolong the war.
"The success of the Ukrainian counteroffensive is directly related to the military assistance provided by the United States and our allies. Therefore, it is extremely disappointing that the administration is delaying billions of dollars of military funding, which could be immediately transferred to Ukraine and in turn help its Armed Forces significantly change the situation on the battlefield," he said.
In the document, the decisions of the governments of the UK and France to transfer Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG long-range missiles, respectively, both with a range of 250 kilometres, are mentioned.
"The United States and its allies jointly own thousands of ATACMS missiles that could be transferred to Ukraine," the draft resolution said, stating that Russia's current dominance in long-range weapons "forces Ukrainian forces to fight at a much greater disadvantage".
If passed, the House of Representatives will call on the United States to "immediately transfer to Ukraine a sufficient number of ATACMS to accelerate Ukraine's victory in Russia's unprovoked aggressive war, while maintaining the combat readiness of the US military".
https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2023/06/9/7406196/ I predict that when ATACMS are supplied, they will have even greater success than the success in 2023 (which those not supporting Ukraine like Prof. Mearsheimer acknowledged) than HIMARS etc did in 2022. Thug Putin is wasting money and killing people unjustly/unnecessarily in a manifestly Unjust War, just like Nazi Thug Hitler did when he invaded Poland, with Commie Thug Joe Stalin assisting him from the East. Those who say, "If I had lived in the days of Hitler/Stalin, I swear on my life I would have done everything possible to assist their Poor Victims" have a chance to prove it now. That's what we who support Ukraine's Righteous Self-Defense are doing. Russia is there to kill, maim, rape, annex and steal territory by usurping it illegally or illicitly, and the only reason it hasn't done much, much more damage is because of Western Weapons. Western Weapons save Ukrainian Lives, which is why there is 90+% support for it. Putin is the Aggressor here and needs to leave. If Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no Ukraine. If Putin stops fighting, there will be no War. It is a very small portion of the defense budget. Russia also has elections in 2024, and someone other than Putin winning that election could also help end the War. Till then, the fight goes on. Putin started the War, after denying he was even going to invade in the first place, mocking it as Western Hysteria, thus knowingly lying. Putin caused some 10 MN people to suffer, get that through your skull. There is no way his invasion is justified. Whether you choose to see the Truth or not is up to you. I for one will not stop opposing Putin, because it's the Christian/morally right thing to do.
"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow." (Isaiah 1:16-17) Putin also wants to steal Ukraine's territory: "Thou shalt not covet" what is your neighbors", and "Thou shalt not steal", Putin fails both commandments as he does also, "Love your neighbor" in the most literal way. Ukraine is his neighbor and he not fails to lvoe them, he hates them and tries to kill them. The verse that applies to Putin is from St. John's First Epistle: "Whoever hates his brother/neighbor is a Murderer, and you know that no Murderer has Eternal Life abiding in him". The farce that the Ukraine war has become was fairly obvious last January when Germany was refusing to send its Leopard 2 tanks for a Ukrainian spring offensive. Then Germany announced it would only send its tanks alongside American M1 Abrams. Then the Biden regime announced it was sending its Abrams M1s. Then Germany announced it would send its Leopards. The next day Biden announced the M1 Abrams wouldn't be ready until January 2024.
What's this all mean? It means both German and American military analysts knew their tanks would get slaughtered against Russian defenses. It means defense contractors are the ultimate winners for replacement equipment contracts and upgrades. It means Germany has no sovereignty, which is the same path Ukraine is following. And it means the NATO alliance may not survive very long come next January, 2024. RobSGive Peace a chance 10:51, June 18, 2023 (EDT)
Another reason why Vladimir Putin's decision to launch a special operation in February of 2022 will hurt Russia's future
Both Ukraine/Russia have poor leadership/populations that are unlikely to develop thriving societies that will greatly have both peace and prosperity in the future.
Russia faces shrinking middle class, rising inequality, study finds":
"Russia's middle class will shrink as social inequality grows over coming years, an economic study conducted by Russian experts suggested, as sanctions against Moscow and limited growth potential scupper development prospects...
Russia's economy proved unexpectedly resilient in the face of tough Western sanctions last year, but a return to pre-conflict levels of prosperity may be far off as more government spending is directed towards the military.
The study's most optimistic scenario sees real incomes exceeding 2021 levels by around 2% in 2030 and poverty dropping below 10% from 11.8% in 2022. In that scenario, the size of the middle class would still drop to 14%-31% by 2030 from current estimates of 20%-50%." Conservative (talk) 14:01, June 18, 2023 (EDT)

Sachs is politically left of center. But not 100% of what someone who is overall left/liberal-leaning says is always untrue. That is why logicians have the genetic fallacy. In a similar vein, defense lawyers sometimes call hostile witnesses.

guns and butter
A Russian lawmaker makes the same prediction about economic doom for the US after 2030 that Cons makes, based on the same premise of an exploding national debt. Albeit, he doesn't foresee Cons same prophesy of the US remaining the world's "leading power for the foreseeable future."
- “Previously, 70% of international trade was serviced by the dollar, now it is 60%...Can you imagine, 10% in just a short period of time – this is significant...Naturally, this process will continue, because the US undermines partners trust with their actions...So, of course, not in one or two years, but in ten years, America as a great financial power will cease to exist...The US can one of these days let everyone down, because effectively it cannot pay its debts...The gross domestic product it produces is less than the debts it accumulates and whatever the country earns will not be enough to pay its debts...Meanwhile, the US keeps borrowing all over the world and pays out by building up domestic debt...So eventually, there will come a time when there will be so much debt that it will become impossible to fulfill obligations...And then the US economy will collapse”. The disastrous 2022 Lend Lease Ukraine aid package of $116 billion is a classic guns and butter illustration. - Today, the USA's national debt to GDP ratio is 116.1%.[12]
- It will take decades for Americans to pay off the national debt if this happens. And it will require Americans retiring later, defense budget cuts, a merit-based legal immigration system (Winning sports teams bring in the best players), and pro-growth economic policies. The failed presidency of Jimmy Carter was followed by 12 years of Republican rule. I am hoping that Joe Biden's failed presidency leads to a similar string of Republican victories. But time will tell. American economic growth will go a long way to help pay back America's national debt and today's left-leaning Democrats are a drag on the USA economy.
- The main reason I believe that the USA will be the preeminent power in the 21st century is other countries have even bigger problems than the USA (See: [[Essay: The United States will be the leading power in the world for the foreseeable future|The United States will be the leading power in the world for the foreseeable future]]). In addition, innovation and technology will be very important in the 21st century and the USA has a population that has a strong track record of innovation.

- Cons: "It will take decades for Americans to pay off the national debt"
- You are giving away too much. The national debt can never be "paid off" under the current structure. Every dollar from workers' paychecks in Social Security withholding is ADDED to the national debt. The national debt cannot be "paid off" by working, since it is American workers who drive the increase in national debt.

- The more number of Americans employed, the longer hours they work, the more overtime they put in, automatically fuels the increase in the national debt because of the Social Security withholding tax. It is the single largest driving force behind an ever increasing national debt. RobSGive Peace a chance 22:58, June 19, 2023 (EDT)
- Why did Putin call the dissolution of the Soviet Union the biggest tragedy of the 20th Century? because the Soviet Union reneged on its promises to workers to pay them Social Security benefits in their old age. The Russian federation held to those promises, but Ukraine and the Baltic States have denied Russian speakers their justly owed pensions that they worked for.
- So when you bellyache about "paying off" the national debt, what are you proposing? Ending the Social Security tax? RobSGive Peace a chance 23:05, June 19, 2023 (EDT)

Putin vs. Wagner
What to make of the reports that Prighozin is attempting a coup?--Geopolitician (talk) 22:35, June 23, 2023 (EDT)
- It appears to be a hostile takeover of Wagner by the MOD. Prigozhin likely to be arrested. Developing. RobSGive Peace a chance 22:56, June 23, 2023 (EDT)
- A successful, private armed force in a society without Second Amendment protections obviously represents a threat to the regime. That was obvious in the final days of the Battle of Bakhmut, when the MOD cut back ammo deliveries to Wagner and Prigozhin went on his rants, naming Gerasimov and Shoigu by name, blaming them for the deaths of Wagner fighters. That was about 3 weeks ago.
- In response, the MOD made the decision to incorporate Wagner into the armed forces of the Russian federation, by having all members sign contracts directly with the MOD. Prigozhin has publicly resisted.
- Several conspiracy theories are already afoot; according to Prigozhin himself, he was in direct contact with the Zelensky regime during the Battle of Bakhmut. If the CIA or Pentagon can send him a text message, they possibly could have offered him a deal like they did Sadam's generals, you know, a million dollars, a home in Fort Lauderdale, his kids tuition at the University of Florida paid for etc etc. Call this the AFU/SBU/CIA plot, or "blame America". RobSGive Peace a chance 23:10, June 23, 2023 (EDT)
- (ec) Another is the MOD set him up to look like a traitor when he began resisting and accusing the MOD (or Russian military industrial complex) of all sorts of corruption with the oligarchs, which sounds plausible to many Russians. Call this the "blame Russia."
- From a political perspective, Prigozhin belongs to a very large domestic public opinion faction that just wants to take the gloves off and wipe Ukraine from the map. Putin and other Russian deep staters however have a wider geopolitical strategy - to draw NATO into an endless war of attrition that NATO cannot win. RobSGive Peace a chance 23:21, June 23, 2023 (EDT)
It shows the disunity in their ranks. It would also be great ingratitude on the part of the Kremlin, given Prighozin and Wagner fought for them. All these are marks of a lack of Truth and Righteousness. Sad to see. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 23:13, June 23, 2023 (EDT)
- It's what can be expected in any society without a 2nd Amendment. RobSGive Peace a chance 23:29, June 23, 2023 (EDT)
The title of this thread should be Shoigu vs Wagner. We don't know where Putin stands. Last reports are Prigozhin is on the run and the federal prosecutor's office is looking into his actions. Putin probably won't protect him. Botomline is, as head of the Wagner organization, he's out. But the MOD has some concern about a few hangers-on loyal to him. RobSGive Peace a chance 23:44, June 23, 2023 (EDT) They can't kill Prigozhin - he's a national hero after the Battle of Bakhmut. RobSGive Peace a chance 03:20, June 24, 2023 (EDT)
- So, what will it be? Will Prigozhin be arrested and stand trial for treason? or die in battle. My guess is he's likely to die in battle. public opinion appears to be against him. Putin walks away stronger than just his 82% approval. RobSGive Peace a chance 09:34, June 24, 2023 (EDT) Alternatively, he could end up in psyche ward suffering from PTSD. RobSGive Peace a chance 09:52, June 24, 2023 (EDT)
Update: It's looking more and more like the MOD set up Prigozhin. This morning, Dima of the Military Summary reported the deployment of 1,500 Spetznaz to Rostov [13]; CD Media now reports Prigozhin and a handful of loyalists fled to Rostov (where evidently they don't know Spetznaz is waiting for them). Who is Shoigu? Shoigu was appointed by President Yeltsin at the founding of the Russian Federation in 1991 as head of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations (kinda like FEMA) with a 20,000 strong armed Civil Defense force, at a time Putin was an unemployed ex-KGB foreign officer looking for work in St. Petersburg in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union. It would be another 10 years before Putin entered federal service. Judging by the name, it should be fairly obvious Shoigu is not an ethnic Russian name, but rather likely some Uraltic or Altaic tribal ancestry, my guess. He's probably more closely related to the Finns or Japanese, or maybe even Mongolian than he is directly to Russians.
Prigozhin I would guess is more likely closer to being of Armenian descent.
Diversity is Russia's strength. Russia is a few centuries ahead of America, in learning how to get a diverse mixture of people groups, tribes, languages, religions living on one continent under one government with a common language, system of law and governance, shared culture and history without killing each other (at least until Western psychos like Victoria Nuland or Adolf Hitler start having big plans). RobSGive Peace a chance 02:24, June 24, 2023 (EDT)

Why does it look like a psyop? Cause they need to get paid sooner or later. Sure, Wagnerians get paid better than regulars, and they have enough cash to keep afloat for awhile, but after a few weeks of R&R in Rostov away from the HIMARS, they'll be ready to get back to work on August 5, as planned. Putin's speech to the nation is interesting, in that, citizens know what he's talking about - unlike Americans who wouldn't have clue with historical references. RobSGive Peace a chance 09:28, June 24, 2023 (EDT)
Americans are incredibly naive about these sorts of things. For example, the Ukrainian Pravy Sektor is not an official Ukrainian government armed force, but fights alongside the AFU, coordinates with the AFU command structure, receives US funding through the government, and has made it clear that it has political objectives different from the Ukrainian government (Pravy Sektor is the paramilitary force of several recognized parties in parliament). It does not want to be part of the EU or NATO. So in the far-fetched prospect that the government of Ukraine could ever emerge victorious in this war, it would face an armed standoff with one of its allied fighting forces. The issue
The issue is basically the conduct of the war. Putin and the boys in the Kremlin are fighting NATO and the collective west; but as in all large populations, you have idiots who think it's just a war between Russia and Ukraine (we have our own idiots in the United States who believe the same thing). So Putin and the boys have a go-slow strategy, so as not to commit all forces and end the war quickly, holding in reserve their capabilities to fight NATO.
Prigozhin, who is not really a military person, is a political person - and an idiot at that. He's trying to harness the public opinion of the hardliners who want to smash Ukraine to bits. Russian nuclear doctrine
At this moment there is one fact about Russian nuclear doctrine that US media has kept hidden from the American public since the Cuban Missile Crisis and before. American media and propaganda has always maintained the fiction that Russia's nuclear doctrine parallels American nuclear doctrine, i.e., that only the Commander-in-Chief can order a nuclear strike. That was never the case in the Soviet Union, and is not the case in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Putin is not the man with his finger on the button.
The local battlefield commander who is given a tactical nuclear weapon has sole discretion to use it if he feels an imminent threat to the lives and wellbeing of himself and his troops, or their imminent defeat on the battlefield. This is why it is impossible to defeat Russia on the battlefield. It is no secret that Russians have deployed nuclear weapons to Belarus in recent weeks. Digression on regulatory capture
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. explains "regulatory capture", i.e. when a private sector industry "captures" a government regulatory agency that is intended to regulate that industry.
Big Pharma, for example has "captured" the Food and Drug Administration that then gives rubber stamp approval to new drugs for Big Pharma profit, and not for the health and safety of the American people.
Big Tech regulatory capture of the FCC, which then grants immunity to broadcasters and IT hosting facilities while driving their competitors out of business (also known as crony capitalism).
The military industrial complex has captured the CIA, which then makes "threat assessment" recommendations to Congress for defense contractor appropriations and spending. RobSGive Peace a chance 15:58, June 25, 2023 (EDT)

A word on propaganda
Western propaganda now would have us believe that the guy whose organization, the Wagner group, that just killed 40,000 Ukrainian troops in the Bakhmut meatgrinder, a guy viewed in Russia as a war hero, a guy who served on the front line and trash talked the Russian military industrial complex for NOT supplying him with enough weapons to kill Ukrainians fast enough to maintain a 10:1 kill ratio, now in the past 72 hours has become an anti-Putin peacenik. A guy Putin spared and exiled who could have been shot for treason. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:12, June 25, 2023 (EDT)
"In the end, the Wagner mutiny lasted less than 24 hours. But the toxic cocktail of jealousy, rivalry and ambition that gave rise to it has been months, if not years, in the making.
The main characters of this drama were Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder and leader of the Wagner paramilitary group, and the heads of Russia's enormous military - Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov.
Prigozhin - a former criminal who was associated with organised crime in the 1980s and for which he spent several years in prison - is a creation of the Kremlin who owes his enormous wealth to President Vladimir Putin.
Since he formed the Wagner mercenary group in 2014, he has become a key tool of Mr Putin's desire to reimpose Russian influence across the globe. From the shadows, his forces - made up of hardened former Russian special forces - have propped up Mr Putin's ally Bashar Al-Assad in Syria and helped roll back and replace French influence in Mali.
Until last year Prigozhin consistently denied mounting evidence that he controlled the group, launching lawsuits in British courts against Bellingcat journalist Elliot Higgins who accused him of running the private militia." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66013532 NishantXavierFor Christ the King 16:30, June 25, 2023 (EDT)
- Congrats. You posted mostly true information. Let's dig deeper: "a former criminal who was associated with organised crime in the 1980s and for which he spent several years in prison", i.e. a Soviet gulag; do you maintain that Prigozhin and Putin want to bring back communism and the Soviet Union? RobSGive Peace a chance 16:39, June 25, 2023 (EDT)
- Bellingcat is a Western intelligence front. We can address more of that later (I'll get Jimmy Dore's link).
- Prigozhin is probably not the "founder" of Wagner, but he is its CEO now. Dmitry Utkin is usually cited as the founder by knowledgeable sources. In recent days, Utkin has been referred to as Prigozhin's deputy, the guy Prigozhin sent to lead the column to Moscow. RobSGive Peace a chance 16:44, June 25, 2023 (EDT)
More on propaganda
Let's pick apart the BBC wording used here: "a former criminal who was associated with organised crime in the 1980s and for which he spent several years in prison".
What is the implication? That the Soviet communist regime upheld justice and protected the people from criminals? or that Prigozhin was convicted of capitalist profiteering and/or not sharing a split of the profits from criminal activity with the corrupt KGB?
How do we know that Prigozhin wasn't a political prisoner of the communist regime, and calling him a "criminal" now isn't just leftwing media bias (i.e. communist propaganda) by the BBC? RobSGive Peace a chance 17:09, June 25, 2023 (EDT)
So the big question here is, Why does the BBC defend or promote Soviet communism? RobSGive Peace a chance 17:15, June 25, 2023 (EDT)
"Over half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: ‘Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.’
Since then I have spent well-nigh 50 years working on the history of our revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous revolution that swallowed up some 60 million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: ‘Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.’" https://www.templetonprize.org/laureate-sub/solzhenitsyn-acceptance-speech/ NishantXavierFor Christ the King 17:23, June 25, 2023 (EDT)

No, I'm saying (1) Communism/Stalinism was one of the Greatest Scourges ever to afflict Humanity (2) Any regression back to that Communist/Soviet Era must be seen as deeply concerning. Russians should read the Bible more, attend Church more, and practice keeping the Commandments of God, especially that of Love your neighbor as yourself, and Do to others as you would have them do unto you, to grow in Faith and Holiness. See this: "Across all three waves of ISSP data, no more than about one-in-ten Russians said they attend religious services at least once a month. The share of regular attenders (monthly or more often) was 2% in 1991, 9% in 1998 and 7% in 2008." (Pew Research). There have been some positive trends, of a return to Christianity from Communism, but much more is needed; Church Attendance remains low, Putin and some Kremlinistas continue to sell something called "Christian Communism", not realizing there is no such thing; that Communism was one of the greatest enemies Christendom ever had; that Mass Murdering Thug Stalin is not worthy of Hero-Veneration etc. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 17:46, June 25, 2023 (EDT)

More on Solzhenitsyn
After reading the revelations of Solzhenitsyn in the 1970s, the problems it presented to understanding and teaching about the World War affected everyone in the East and the West. I was only a student, but it affected even more the people who lived through the events, and provided great eyeopeners, that their understanding of events during the war, and next 30 years after, were based on lies. My Slovak speaking grandmother who lived through two world wars and could understand much Russian, helped me.
One problem was the equation of "Russia" and "Russian" with "communism" in the Angelo-American world, making the terms synonymous. Solzhenitsyn taught us that Russia and Russians were not communist. The Nobel Prize in Literature put an official stamp of approval from the West on that basic premise. But you can't undo 30 years of fake news and propaganda in popular culture overnight, if ever.
The term "Soviet" means "workers council", and was always somewhat abused to mean all sorts of other things. I recall a conversation with a teaching assistant on this subject who understood the problem. And I asked, "so what do we do if we can't use the term 'Russian' anymore to denote Soviet Communism, because of popular prejudices in the public imagination? Russians aren't communist. it's quite the opposite. They are victims of communism.' We concluded that the term 'Soviet' should henceforth be applied to all people, individuals - communist and non-communist, as well as national groups, living under the Soviet system. 'Let's call them "Soviets", not "Russians". This was a fundamental change in idiom and meaning of the term "Soviet" from the mid-1970s onward. 'A Soviet' sounded awkward at first when speaking about an individual, cause the term literally means "workers council", denoting a collective. But the new idea and meaning caught on. I'm not saying me and the TA invented the new meaning, but we understood the new direction American media, the educational system, and propaganda sources would have to take. Fortunately, we were correct in our assessments, and others in the academic world and media likewise must have been having the same conversations at the same time.
Soviet Communism attempted to destroy Russian national identity, which strongly identifies with the Russian Orthodox Church. And they were largely successful in the efforts - up until Solzhenitsyn brought their crimes to the attention to the global public. Unfortunately, Russophobic bigots in government and media are trying to resurrect the old hatreds and prejudices today, which even many conservatives has signed on to. RobSGive Peace a chance 02:14, June 30, 2023 (EDT)
- Kat Timpf on Gutfeld articulated a similar problem today. How are historians 50 or 100 hundred years from now going to explain the Trump presidency, two impeachments, the Russia collusion hoax, FBI investigations etc, and the fact that all media sources and their reporting from the last 8 years have discredited themselves and are unreliable as historical sources - when the complete cavalcade originated with a bogus pee tape? RobSGive Peace a chance 02:36, June 30, 2023 (EDT)
- And we see a another, similar problem in China: Sinophobic bigots try to blame all of America's problems on "China", rather than making a distinction between "China" and "CCP". The Chinese Communists are the problem, and the Chinese people are their biggest victims. RobSGive Peace a chance 07:55, June 30, 2023 (EDT)
- The Russians themselves in modern Russia have adapted the same idiomatic change in meaning; they refer to a "Soviet person" as a person who grew up and lived in the Soviet climate. A "Soviet person" is not necessarily or even likely to be communist, they were simply acculturated in Soviet times. By contrast, German society uses the term "citizen of the Reich" to specifically denote people who still hold Nazi views, and not just somebody who lived in those times. Italian FM: Welcoming Ukraine into NATO and maintaining an United Front
From decode 39. Am on my phone and will give the link subsequently:
"Welcoming Ukraine into NATO… FM Tajani approached the issue by stating that the time for Kyiv’s entry in the Alliance hasn’t come yet, as peace must be reached first. However, “we can make the first steps towards [its] adhesion.” A good place to start is the Atlantic Alliance’s summit in Vilnius, in July, by creating a NATO-Ukraine Council – “which Italy supports with conviction.”
… and maintaining a united front. “I’d like this to be clear: we’re not at war with Russia. We defend Ukraine’s independence, we don’t act to intervene in Russia,” went on Mr Tajani. He also noted that there’s an “element of worry” with regards to the risk of nuclear escalation, but voiced his hope that Moscow may “understand it’s time to recall its army” and reach a cease-fire." Communists have always called NATO "fascist" when it's anything but. NATO is a Defensive Alliance. Sweden will most likely join NATO at Vilnius, Ukraine's roadmap to full NATO inclusion in a year or so will likely be sketched out at the same time. - On page 127 of Solzhenitsyn's book The Gulag Archipelago, I found the excerpt which described one of the more brutal torture methods that I remember:
- "So now we will try the club. Prisoners can't take more than two or three sessions of this. Let down your trousers and lie down on the runner." The colonel sat down on the prisoner's back. A.D. was going to count the blows. He didn't yet know about a blow from a rubber truncheon on the sciatic nerve when the buttocks have disappeared as a consequence of prolonged starvation. The effect is not felt in the place where the blow is delivered-it explodes inside the head. After the first blow the victim was mad with pain and broke his nails on the carpet. Ryumin beat away, trying to hit accurately. The colonel pressed down on A.D.'s torso-this was just the right sort of work for three big shoulder-board stars, assisting the all-powerful R yumin! (After the beating the prisoner could not walk and, of course, was not carried. They just dragged him along the floor. What was left of his buttocks was soon so swollen that he could not button his trousers, and yet there were practically no scars. He was hit by a violent case of diarrhea, and, sitting there on the latrine bucket in solitary, A.D. guffawed. He went through a second and a third session, and his skin cracked, and Ryumin went wild, and started to beat him on the stomach, breaking through the intestinal wall and creating an enormous hernia through which A.D.'s intestines protruded. The prisoner was taken off to the Butyrki hospital with a case of peritonitis, and for the time being their attempts to compel him to commit a foul deed were suspended.)" —The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Conservative (talk)
- And you are wrong about this. Solzhenitsyn is describing the "enhanced interrogation" techniques used at KGB headquarters before a prisoner was sentenced to a gulag labor camp. - Furthermore, many of the horrific stories of abuse Solzhenitsyn related occurred in the 1920s immediately after the Bolshevik seizure of power and weren't really necessary in the in later decades of the 1940s and 1950s when Solzhenitsyn was there. Sleep deprivation and standing for long hours, or a cut in the bread ration usually did the trick getting information. Any one of those answer would have been more convincing. A.D. was going to count the blows.

Is Russia repeating the Soviet Union's mistake? Putin talks about guns and butter
Russia’s Economy Is Starting to Come Undone, Investment is down, labor is scarce, budget is squeezed. Oligarch: ‘There will be no money next year’, Wall Street Journal, March 2023
"The country’s biggest exports, gas and oil, have lost major customers. Government finances are strained. The ruble is down over 20% since November against the dollar. The labor force has shrunk as young people are sent to the front or flee the country over fears of being drafted. Uncertainty has curbed business investment.
“Russia’s economy is entering a long-term regression,” predicted Alexandra Prokopenko, a former Russian Central Bank official who left the country shortly after the invasion.
There is no sign the economic difficulties are bad enough to pose a short-term threat to Russia’s ability to wage war. But state revenue shortfalls suggest an intensifying dilemma over how to reconcile ballooning military expenditures with the subsidies and social spending that have helped President Vladimir Putin shield civilians from hardship.
Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska warned this month that Russia is running out of cash. “There will be no money next year, we need foreign investors,” the raw-materials magnate said at an economic conference...
“Despite Russia’s resilience in the short term, the long-term picture is bleak: Moscow will be much more inward-looking and overly dependent on China,” said Maria Shagina, a senior fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies think tank in London....=
“You know, there is a maxim, guns versus butter,” Mr. Putin said in a state-of-the-nation address last month. “Of course, national defense is the top priority, but in resolving strategic tasks in this area, we should not repeat the mistakes of the past and should not destroy our own economy.”
For much of Mr. Putin’s more than 20 years in charge, high oil and gas revenue underpinned a social contract that saw most Russians largely staying out of opposition politics and protests in exchange for rising living standards.
The International Monetary Fund has estimated that Russia’s potential growth rate—the rate at which it could grow without courting inflation—was around 3.5% before 2014, the year it seized Crimea from Ukraine. That has now fallen to around 1%, some economists say, as productivity declines and the economy becomes technologically backward and more isolated."[17] Conservative (talk) 01:12, July 2, 2023 (EDT)

Ukraine, UK etc go to the ICJ to hold Iran accountable for killing civilians and shooting down a civilian airplane
In other recent news, many countries are waking up to the threat posed by Radical Islamist Iran, especially under the current regime. Many of these countries also, very positively, support the Crown Prince of Iran, in exile, who is Israel-friendly and democratic and peaceful.
"Ukraine, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Sweden will go to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in their bid to hold Iran accountable for the downing of Ukraine International Airlines flight 752 in January 2020. On Reza Pahlavi, Iran's former crown prince: "Iran’s former crown prince, Reza Pahlavi, has stirred controversy after visiting Israel, Tehran’s arch enemy.
Pahlavi, an exiled opposition figure who has lived in the United States for decades, arrived in Israel on April 17. He held talks with senior officials, met Israelis of Iranian descent, and participated in Israel's annual Holocaust memorial ceremony.
The 62-year-old Pahlavi described his visit to Israel as a chance to deliver a “message of friendship from the Iranian people.”

- It would be interesting if the US recognized the legitimacy of ICJ. According to the Wikipedia article,
- After the court ruled that the United States's covert war against Nicaragua was in violation of international law (Nicaragua v. United States), the United States withdrew from compulsory jurisdiction in 1986 to accept the court's jurisdiction only on a discretionary basis.[12]

Why do most Christian Histories of Evangelization skip some 1000-1500 years?
I sometimes see Christians interested in Evangelization and the History of Christian Evangelism suddenly skip over from roughly 250-300 A.D. or so to around 1700-1750 A.D. or so, a massive gap of around 1500 years. Why? Most people neglect to ask themselves, but wait, "How did Europe become Christian in the First Place?" How, for e.g. did England, France, Germany and Ireland, become Baptized and Christian? The answers, respectively, are God raised up and sent Great Saints, including Popes/Bishops like Gregory the Great, Saint Augustine of Canterbury, Saint Boniface and Saint Patrick. All these are well documented and unimpeachable historical facts. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 17:26, June 28, 2023 (EDT)
- Yah, it's what many call, "The Dark Ages", etc. Big question. Careful though, 1700-1750 is the period communists writers will call the beginning of the "Age of Imperialism", while others are going to say it reflects the Protestant Reformation, equating the Roman Catholic Church with the Dark Ages. RobSGive Peace a chance 17:34, June 28, 2023 (EDT)
- The name, "Dark Ages" can be misleading, implying something sinister and oppressive occurred. What it really means is that there isn't a lot of valid historical writings to go on covering a very long passage of time (largely due to widespread illiteracy); and those writings tend to be connected with the church. So in the so-called "Enlightened" Era, atheist bigots tended to just dismiss those earlier writings as being from a "dark" and sinister time. RobSGive Peace a chance 17:40, June 28, 2023 (EDT)
Pls see the Evangelization of England: "As soon as they entered the dwelling-place assigned to them, they began to imitate the Apostolic manner of life in the primitive Church; applying themselves to constant prayer, watchings, and fastings; preaching the Word of life to as many as they could; despising all worldly things, as in nowise concerning them; receiving only their necessary food from those they taught; living themselves in all respects conformably to what they taught, and being always ready to suffer any adversity, and even to die for that truth which they preached. In brief, some believed and were baptized, admiring the simplicity of their blameless life, and the sweetness of their heavenly doctrine. There was on the east side of the city, a church dedicated of old to the honour of St. Martin, built whilst the Romans were still in the island, wherein the queen, who, as has been said before, was a Christian, was wont to pray. In this they also first began to come together, to chant the Psalms, to pray, to celebrate Mass, to preach, and to baptize, till when the king had been converted to the faith, they obtained greater liberty to preach everywhere and build or repair churches.
When he, among the rest, believed and was baptized, attracted by the pure life of these holy men and their gracious promises, the truth of which they established by many miracles, greater numbers began daily to flock together to hear the Word, and, forsaking their heathen rites, to have fellowship, through faith, in the unity of Christ's Holy Church. It is told that the king, while he rejoiced at their conversion and their faith, yet compelled none to embrace Christianity, but only showed more affection to the believers, as to his fellow citizens in the kingdom of Heaven. For he had learned from those who had instructed him and guided him to salvation, that the service of Christ ought to be voluntary, not by compulsion. Nor was it long before he gave his teachers a settled residence suited to their degree in his metropolis of Canterbury, with such possessions of divers sorts as were necessary for them." [Ch. 26]" [From Ecclesiastical History of the English People].
Does it sound like "Dark Ages" to you? Prayer, Fasting, Healing, Miracles, Evangelism and Christianity's Astonishing Growth, and Ultimate Triumph, in England, (with other European Countries to follow soon thereafter). This happened in the 6th and 7th Centuries. I think, after the French Revolution, Atheists and Agnostics engaged in a Propaganda War against Christendom, rewriting History, and falsely claiming "Ages of Light" and Christ's Glory were "Dark Ages". It's their own false agnostic and atheistic revolutions (like the Commie Revolution, which Solzhenitsyn heavily criticized as being founded on Militant Atheism as its Dominant Ideology - which also caused some 60 MN Deaths) that led to "Dark Ages".
James Hannam wrote: "The myth that people in the Middle Ages thought the Earth is flat appears to date from the 17th century as part of the campaign by Protestants against Catholic teaching. But it gained currency in the 19th century, thanks to inaccurate histories such as John William Draper's History of the conflict between Religion and Science (1874) and Andrew Dickson White's A History of the Warfare of Science with Theology in Christendom (1896). Atheists and agnostics championed the conflict thesis for their own purposes, but historical research gradually demonstrated that Draper and White had propagated more fantasy than fact in their efforts to prove that science and religion are locked in eternal conflict." https://www.patheos.com/resources/additional-resources/2010/05/science-versus-christianity NishantXavierFor Christ the King 17:45, June 28, 2023 (EDT)

Evangelicals search for Mt. Sinai -- in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia, one of the least tourist-friendly countries in the world, opened to tourists in 2019. Will they find Mt. Sinai? See "Saudi Arabia Wants Tourists. It Didn’t Expect Christians." The viral video "Finding the Mountain of Moses: The Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia" is said to be sending Christians to Saudi. You're not going to find archaeological evidence of a Golden Calf or of the other events in events in Exodus, so I found this video to be a stretch. The theory was proposed by Ron Wyatt, author of In Search of Noah's Ark (1976).
As far as where the mountain really is, the Bible doesn't give you much to go by. The Sinai peninsula is named after Mt. Sinai, so historically people have looked for it there. Josephus says that Mt. Sinai is the highest mountain in Arabia Petræa. Galatians 4:25 says Mt. Sinai is in "Arabia," presumably Arabia Petræa. Exodus repeatedly uses the phrase "mountain of God," which suggests that there was already a history of worship at this mountain when Moses arrived. The traditional site near St. Catherine's monastery was identified in Byzantine times and there is no archaeology to support this identification. Biblical Archaeology Review suggests Har Karkom, a paleolithic cult center in the Negev. PeterKa (talk) 09:31, June 30, 2023 (EDT)

Guess who admitted that Sabbath observance is substantiated by the New Testament?
Amazing Discoveries is one of the greatest bastions of truth in our time. In the episode linked, Schanche and Drebit go straight to the horse's mouth, in this case a Jesuitist publication from years past which admitted that Seventh-day Adventists were the only body of Christianity which kept the seventh-day Sabbath which is biblically grounded in the Old and New Testament.
Oh, did any of you know why the Protestant Reformation failed at the Council of Trent? It's because the Protestants were criticized as inconsistent vain rebels for failing to uphold the biblical seventh-day Sabbath. The Papacy boasted, "aha, you claim to be for the word and word alone, yet you uphold our doctrine of Sunday observance!" And the Papacy in that assertion was correct: it was the chief promulgator of Sunday observance in the church, not the Bible, because they claimed to have the authority to change times and law. We can always call them trannies
The one thing you can be sure of is that whatever you are calling them is bigoted and wrong. USA Today says LGBQ+. What happened to the "T," you transphobes! Canada knows how to do it right: They've switched to "2SLGBTQI+". I want to see Biden say that three times fast. Here is the real pride news: "45% of 'LGBQ+' U.S. high schoolers contemplated suicide in 2021 according to CDC report." I know the Mega MAGA will peddle their conspiracy theories. But we all know its because transphobic bigots are refusing use the right pronouns. PeterKa (talk) 09:37, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
- There's a civil war in the LGBT movement: some of the LGBs wanna kick out the Ts, they are divided between human rights activists and LGBs who wanna have sex with anything so long as its human and still alive. RobSGive Peace a chance 13:26, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
- The history of the LGBT movement tells you everything you need to know. It started out as Gay Pride. Many Lesbians identified as gay, however there is a certain element within the Lesbian group infected with misanthropy or misandryism or whatever the word is and identify strictly as Lesbian. So when lesbians allied with gays, the patriarchy won out and deferred to women, chivalrously putting ladies first in the Lesbian-Gay alliance. Bisexuals soon were added cause they, unlike some lesbians, did not hate and/or fear members of the opposite sex. When the "T" was added, it initially referred to transexuals, who at the time were largely crossdressers (transvestites) with a few undergoing "sex reassignment" surgery (the term used in the Hollywood blockbuster Silence of the Lambs, where a person with gender dysphoria makes a convenient villain and scapegoat as a psychotic serial killer. I doubt such a transphobic movie could be made today with its vulgar stereotypes about gender confused people. Nevertheless the film remains popular as one of the scariest horrors films ever made). As Big Pharma started churning out more and more gender dysphoria victims in the lab, "transexual" was replaced with "transgender". RobSGive Peace a chance 14:06, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
- The term "gay" likewise has an interesting history. It begins with Friedrich Nietzsche's 19th century book, The Gay Science. Many decades later Hollywood produced a film entitled The Gay Divorcee. By the 1960s gays "came out of the closet" and admitted that the word "gay" was a codeword dropped in casual conversation for nearly a hundred years to feel out a person if they were susceptible to homosexual advances (facilitated by the "intellectual", academic, and popular culture references to the book or film). RobSGive Peace a chance 14:25, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
- What is remarkable about the Lesbian-Gay Alliance (later the LGBT alliance} is, it normalized people with underlying psychological problems. Lesbians who refused to identify as "gay", suffer from the same irrational underlying fear and psychological maladies that they accuse homophobes of. Only in the case of the larger hetero community, what was once a psychiatric disorder was decriminalized, whereas many in the LGBT movement and their "straight" allies seek to criminalize what is by definition a psychological disorder. Boom! De Santis and Trump neck and neck in Wisconsin; De Santis does better against Biden
"Former President Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are neck and neck for the 2024 GOP presidential primary in Wisconsin, according to a new poll. A Marquette University Law School Poll survey of Wisconsin voters released Wednesday found 31 percent of Republicans and independents who lean Republican said Trump was their Republican presidential primary preference, while 30 percent said DeSantis."
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4072012-trump-desantis-neck-and-neck-in-wisconsin-poll/ NishantXavierFor Christ the King 16:45, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
I just looked at another source, and it's even more astounding than I thought! Wait for it - in a head-to-head or one on contest, can you guess who beats whom? De Santis beats Trump by 16 points! Wow. Here's the source: "Among Republicans in the Badger State, DeSantis is almost tied with Trump, pulling 30% of the vote versus Trump’s 31%. It gets better. The poll found that DeSantis’s approval rating among Republicans and Republican-leaving voters (67%) is nearly equal to Trump’s (68%) and in a hypothetical (and probably mythical) one-on-one contest, DeSantis actually leads Trump by 16 points —57% to 41%." https://morningshots.thebulwark.com/p/finally-a-good-poll-for-desantis
That means, if the field were narrowed down to De Santis and Trump alone, De Santis beats Trump handily and it's not even close!!!
Wow. Even I, a De Santis supporter, did not expect that so early, and am still digesting the information. As for whether it's likely or not that the field will narrow down to 1-on-1 soon after the first few primaries, I think it's not at all unlikely. In 2016, around mid-March, there were only 3 candidates left in the race. It could be much the same this time around, say De Santis, Trump and Haley, and I daresay De Santis would be ahead of Trump if it were. Maybe something like 45-35-20 at that stage. So things look very good for De Santis.
As for the claim that any poll which shows Trump might struggle is not "neutral", Trump supporters can't have it both ways. If polls favoring Trump are neutral, and Trump never stops advertising when he does well in polls, then others which paint a different picture are fair game as well. It'll be interesting to watch, and my confidence in De Santis' longevity, staying power, and ultimate victory went up. Keep in mind that De Santis has plenty of backers and a 100 MN dollar door knocking army. With numbers like this, he has a good chance. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 17:31, June 30, 2023 (EDT)

Businesses often form corporations to reduce taxes. Why are you so against capitalism and corporations? Small businesses are the economic backbone of the USA and many of those companies are corporations. Trump was great for many American businesses and he was very pro-business. And many businesses are flocking to Florida due to DeSantis' pro-business policies.

De Santis beats Trump by a Massive 16 POINTS (57-41%) in Wisconsin in a Head to Head (1-on-1) Contest
Posting this separately as it got lost in the above as part of another discussion. This is the bottom line: "But given the choice of only DeSantis or Trump, 57% chose the Florida governor and 41% chose the former president." https://madison.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/donald-trump-tied-with-ron-desantis-in-wisconsin-gop-presidential-primary-poll-shows/article_dcbbae1a-15c6-11ee-8b2e-8fe5b68f7f16.html
It's astounding. Truly astounding. I mean, De Santis hardly declared 1 month ago, and already a clear majority of 16% percentage points favors him over the former President, Trump, in Wisconsin. De Santis also did better than Trump against Biden, the key enemy/opponent we conservatives have to beat in 2024. So, the argument that Trump keeps making from polls doesn't work for him.
Here's what Trump claimed on Truth Social for e.g.: "The DeSanctimonious campaign is DEAD! His polls are dropping like a rock heading to Hell, and the DOJ/FBI are continuing their illegal and outrageous weaponization against me only because I am leading Biden by so much. It’s called ELECTION INTERFERENCE, and they have NO FEAR against DeSanctus - He’s the one that they are dying to run against, dispute their DISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN!" https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/110629151921882403 Btw, De Santis would almost certainly pardon Trump if he wins, so Trump can continue to live a free and happy life in Florida where he resides, and where De Santis is governor. However, the false claim that De Santis is doing badly in every poll is not the "Truth", as the above clearly shows. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 21:11, June 30, 2023 (EDT)

Florida has the best economy in the U.S.
Gov. Ron De Santis. The Champion God has prepared for more than 20 years when he was an Accomplished Officer (whereas Trump dodged the military draft multiple times, said fighting STDs was "my own personal Vietnam", and bragged about molesting the genitals of multiple women, in a very vulgar whereas Christ taught to be Pure of Heart, and said if your hand causes you to sin, to cut it off and throw it away, etc, not brag about it, St. Paul the Apostle taught not to cuss and swear etc), to becoming the Best Governor in America (as this ranking shows), to being the Best Candidate with Best Record to be President of America. Isn't it clear who the best choice is, from a Christian perspective? All that remains is for sufficient numbers of voters, especially Christian Conservative voters, to seek God's Will for this election and the Wisdom to choose the one He has chosen. One should vote one's Conscience and one's Faith at the ballot box, that has always been traditional Christian Moral Teaching, and it is how Christ can be King of kings among men. And economic prosperity will follow too, for those who choose and seek the Kingdom of God, like Our Lord Jesus Christ promised in the Gospel. The facts and stats are clear: so absolutely clear that even the liberal Anti-De Santis media is absolutely forced to admit it. Trump wasted 8 TN Debt, De Santis ran record Budget Surpluses. Now this. Wow!

Reminder from Dec. 2022 - De Santis was crushing Trump 56-33% among Conservative Voters, for some of the above reasons I explained
"By a 56%-33% margin, conservative voters picked Governor Ron DeSantis over the former president, who formally launched his new campaign last month." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-63967234 Gov De Santis only fell behind because he was more interested in the Actual Work of Governing rather than having a good time going here and there in campaigning only. De Santis has suffered for being a Governance Hawk, but I believe voters will ultimately recognize it in the long run. It's not inconceivable, by Dec. 2023, the numbers will have reversed in his favor again, especially after the debates, and all the more if Trump does not show up for them, as looks likely. Affirmative action is struck down again
In Students for Fair Admissions, Inc, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down affirmation action as a violation of the "equal protection" clause of the 14th Amendment by a vote 6-3. They did this before in the Bakke case in 1978, so legally the issue is pretty straightforward. Biden says the Supreme Court is "out of sorts with the basic value system of the American people." But polls say otherwise. Seventy-four percent of Americans say that "public colleges should not be able to use race a factor in admissions". One hopes that admissions officers will refocus on test results rather than skin color. PeterKa (talk) 03:01, July 1, 2023 (EDT)

US Supreme Court Recertifies Capitalism’s Need for Racism
No, it's not a Babylon Bee headline.
A serious student of Marxist rhetoric needs to keep current on the language and idioms used as well as the target masses. So while conservative websites headline "SCOTUS strike down Affirmative Action", Marxist sites say, "US Supreme Court Recertifies Capitalism’s Need for Racism". [19] "Re-certify" should be a clue. While the rest is ancient rhetoric ("racism", "capitalism") "Recertification" means they still have to tear the whole rotten structure down, including SCOTUS. They have not abandoned or walked away from their principles. They may have softened their rhetoric or spoke in other coded language, but this is notification that Marxism is back to square one. The only question is the size of the audience. So now you need to pay attention to who and what "comes out of the closet" and builds on the rhetoric, i.e. that ending affirmative action is "capitalist".
Personally, I doubt they will have many takers, but on its face it also reveals how deeply engrained communism is in the Black Church. I doubt it will expand much from there. But it also serves notice to us, conservatives, that we must revisit our understanding of what capitalism is. The capitalism of today is not the capitalism of Ronald Reagan that defeated the Soviet Union. We must strengthen and deepen the breadth of our own understanding of what capitalism is.
Yes, there are certain immutable laws of capitalism. That doesn't mean all those laws are healthy. Globalism is capitalist. Fascism is capitalist. So as conservatives, yes, we are for a certain amount of government regulation of unbridled oligarchs and billionaires, corporations and industries, who control governments, regulatory agencies, elected officials, think tanks, media, NGOs, etc. RobSGive Peace a chance 12:45, July 3, 2023 (EDT)

Material that is posted in Conservapedia are picked up by the search engines which causes a growth over time in Conservapedia's Google referral traffic. For example, the atheism page that I largely created gets about 10,000+ page views a month (see: Conservapedia:Atheism articles statistics). In addition, the other atheism-related pages get a large amount of traffic corporately because my related atheism pages are linked together.

- You're simply not truthful. You say, "I agree with Prof. Mearsheimer" and turn around and say "Putin is a corrupt kleptocrat". Mearsheimer never said any such thing, and in fact disputes that allegation. If I were Mearsheimer, I'd sue you for defamation. RobSGive Peace a chance 10:04, July 13, 2023 (EDT)
- I don't know if Mearsheimer disputes that Putin is a corrupt kleptocrat. Please give me some citations as I am skeptical of this claim of yours. Regardless, I don't agree with everything that Mearsheimer says (For example, he is a self-described liberal although he certainly has views that many liberals disagree with). Conservative (talk) 10:08, July 13, 2023 (EDT)
- You're so damn dumb you don't even realize that because of Mearsheimer's position in academia and the foreign policy world, even if he believed it he couldn't vocalize it. And I pointed out to you chapter and verse a year ago where in several places Mearsheimer disputes the recycled crap you say about Putin. You put words in his mouth that he not only never said, but denies. Net result: you slander both Mearsheimer and Putin. RobSGive Peace a chance 10:12, July 13, 2023 (EDT)

Personal attacks, such as your "You're so damn dumb", is a type of logical fallacy (See: Ad hominem) and is a sign of bad faith, illogical discussion on your side. Furthermore, I scored high on a college entrance exam and received an A in my Logic 101 class in college. I also have careers in disciplines where the average IQ is above average.
And I still remain skeptical that Mearsheimer has disputed that Putin is a corrupt kleptocrat. Conservative (talk) 10:21, July 13, 2023 (EDT)

- I merely wanted to make a simple point about main page talk editing vs. article editing. Historically, the wikis that have grown in traffic and have the biggest impact put an emphasis on article editing. So I don't have anything further to say about this topic to you. My overall point here is, we have some talented editors here. These editors could be developed into strategic analysts and writers with discussion. We don't need more lone wolfs, in constant feuds, making ridiculous arguments, and who stubbornly refuse to work with other editors. RobSGive Peace a chance 13:41, July 13, 2023 (EDT)

Trump's legal strategy
Trump as the nominee is a nightmare for the Republican Party. I can only hope that somebody sobers up soon. Even though Trump got a sympathetic judge for the Mar-a-Largo classified documents case, it seems that he is not even trying to win the case in legal terms. Instead, he is running out the clock. The only way that makes sense is if he believes he will be reelected and can appoint an attorney general who will then drop the case. This is pure fantasy. To pull it off, he would need to win not only the presidency, but also control of the U.S. Senate. He could easily end up with a Jeff-Sessions type attorney general who will step aside while Special Counsel Jack Smith continues to pursue his various prosecutions. "Hillary did it too!" is not a legal defense. There are also cases against Trump about election interference in Fulton County, Georgia, as well as the E. Jean Carroll defamation case.
A conviction will be a game changer. 62 percent of Americans say Trump shouldn't be allowed to serve if convicted of a "serious crime." Biden thinks prosecuting Trump is a winning strategy, and he is going to push it all the way. According to RCP, it's currently 43.8 Biden to 43.6 Trump. If it is a close election and comes down to Maricopa or some other fraud-ridden county, the Dems are going to cheat.
Trump talks as if being cheated in 2020 is a qualification. What we need is someone with a track record of cracking down on election fraud, not someone who whines about it. In short, if Trump doesn't drop out and endorse someone who can win, he is going to prison.
The MSM has been weirdly focused on Florida lately. If you go by the polls, Trump's coronation as nominee is just a formality. Yet DeSantis remains the real enemy. PeterKa (talk) 10:12, July 15, 2023 (EDT)
- Agreed. Trumps legal strategy is going nowhere. He has no plan. I have a better legal strategy for him: De Santis wins, pardons President Trump, President Trump continues to live freely and happily in his home and with his family, and can advice Presidents at his leisure if he wants to. It's thus in his own interest to be on good terms with De Santis, and not try to totally destroy him or anything. Instead, let's hear about the respective policy positions of the two candidates and look at their Respective Governance Records: Trump increased the National Debt by nearly 8 Trillion Dollars, while Governor De Santis ran record Budget Surpluses in Florida. A no brainer here. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 14:05, July 15, 2023 (EDT)
- After 2024, 270 to win is forecasting a Senate with 50 Republicans, 47 Democrats, and 3 toss ups. There will be Republican senators who won't want the charges, whatever they are, dropped. Trump can't work with DeSantis, but he will be able to swing a deal with Mitt Romney? Trump can drop out and play elder statesman at a Republican White House. That's the classy way to exit politics.
- This article is another legal analysis that confirms the one in the OP: Trump's strategy is all about delaying the case until after the election. It is less detailed, but it is also an easier read. Surely Trump's best chance of winning the presidency would be a triumphant "not guilty" verdict just before the election. Judge Aileen Cannon in Florida is the most favorable judge that Trump is ever likely to get. All the same, the smart money assumes that he won't win the case: "ELECTION INTERFERENCE: Biden DOJ Seeks December Trial Date in Classified Docs Case – On Eve of Iowa Republican Caucuses."
- Where is the A-G nominee who is going to drop the charges against Trump? It is a safe bet that the Senate will require the nominee to recuse himself, as Sessions did in 2017. I can only hope that Trump's appeal as a candidate will decline when voters realize that he now views the presidency primarily as a get-out-of-jail-free card. PeterKa (talk) 23:54, July 16, 2023 (EDT)
Completely agree with you, Peter. Wrote this Essay on the debt thing: De Santis has a long term plan to reshape America's Major Courts as well. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 00:30, July 17, 2023 (EDT)
- If Judge Cannon goes along with Trump's requests, he could be convicted while in office and serve a sentence at the end of his term. That would be wild. PeterKa (talk) 01:01, July 17, 2023 (EDT)
- With all the Joe Biden top secret documents mishandled and all the bribery by foreign governments to Joe Biden, is Joe Biden running for president to the bitter end to delay or avoid being prosecuted? With all the Joe Biden top secret documents mishandled does Joe Biden and the Democrats have the chutzpah to prosecute Donald Trump regarding his handling of top secret documents? Will Joe Biden pardon his family members of crimes? Does the GOP has the chuzpah to impeach Joe Biden, Merrick Garland and Alejandro Mayorkas? We shall see what time will reveal. Conservative (talk) 20:27, July 17, 2023 (EDT)
- The cases of Hilary, Biden, Garland, and the rest should all be examined by prosecutors with charges brought if appropriate. The treatment of Hunter is especially outrageous, assuming the judge confirms his plea deal. As far as Trump is concerned, whataboutism is not a legal defense. The Presidential Records Act allows him to take home White House and Executive Office records until the National Archive asks for them back, but not those of the Defense Department or other agencies. PeterKa (talk) 23:37, July 17, 2023 (EDT)
- My faith that the U.S. justice system treats federal politicians impartially died when President Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon. And I don't think that faith will be resurrected given what I have seen during the Obama/Biden/Trump administrations. I think it will come down to politics. Hence, I wrote what I wrote in my previous post above. Conservative (talk) 23:49, July 17, 2023 (EDT)
