The term internet troll refers to someone who acts in a way to disrupt or disparage others, often to attract attention to the troll. As a verb, it means commenting in an unproductive way to spark a reaction. Trolls are commonplace on any website open for comment by the public, and studies have even been done about how unhappy trolls are themselves. Trolling can also be online bullying, or cyberbullying.

There are many evil things you can do with your life, like lying, cheating, premarital wanking, atheism or voting Democrat. But by far the worst thing you can possibly do while on this Earth is take part in the sport of Conservatroll (except in Poland, of course, where it's the national pastime).

No one should ever play Conservatroll, EVER! The rules of the game are only presented here so you will be able to spot others playing it and avoid being lured into playing it through deception.

Jesus explains the existence of trolls in the parable of the tares in Matthew 13:24-30, specifically verse 25: "But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds in the middle of the wheat, and then left."

−
Origin of the Word
+
Some entire websites such as Reddit and comment sections on newspapers serve as flypaper for trolls, attracting and keeping them away from littering more productive sites on the internet. Another example is Twitter, which has become an echo chamber for leftists who lack the ability to spend time productively and instead recycle agitprop over and over.
−
The word Conservatroll was created through the fusion of two already existing words:

−
*Conservapedia - The only accurate, unbiased, and truthful wiki, allegedly written by Jesus.

−
*Troll - The title of someone who uses the internet to be a complete dick.

−
So what is Conservatroll?
+
Internet trolls
−
Conservatroll is a sport in which people score points by placing posts on the wiki site Conservapedia. The amount of points scored depend on the nature of the post and how long it remains in place, with more shocking quotes scoring more highly.

Wow! That is Bad!
+
A troll, in Internet parlance, is an entity or character that purposely disrupts a conversation via discussion forum or email, a comment thread on a blog, or another sort of website. For example, on Wikis, users who purposely make disruptive edits are considered trolls. Many people consider this type of activity to be merely childish, while others consider it symptomatic of deviant minds of opposition whereby infiltration by deceit is normal practice. Trolls pretend to be of common thinking, at the same time plotting anti-social crimes. The troll can otherwise be known as a frenemy or as a hoax plant lurking for an opportunity to create trouble.
−
Yeah, I know, I told you it was! So don't play it (unless you're Polish, obviously).

−
What You Need to Play
+
The term originated in the early 1990s, an abbreviation of the term "trolling for suckers" (trolling being an angling technique to seek fish). An Internet troll will lock their target, bait the line and spread the net to catch their goal (unwitting victim). Sites such as YouTube, Yahoo! and the Internet Movie Database (prior to the latter's shutdown of its message boards on February 20, 2017) are known for their lax (laid back) and sometimes negative enforcement of community guidelines on their forums and comment sections. The effects of trolling on children who use the internet have been linked to a number of well documented suicides among youth in years past.
−
* No conscience.

−
* 1 person to act as referee.

−
* 2 hours of spare time.

−
* Any number of players, although professional games are generally played with four players. More than this requires too much logistics, fewer makes for a dull contest.

−
* Each person taking part (including the referee) will need a computer with access to the internet (a rarity in Poland).

−

+
The reason most trolls act the way they do online is because they either have nothing better to do, suffer from low self-esteem as a result of a number of factors, or are anonymous children who have been, or are being bullied in real life and turn to the Internet to vent their anger. Many users have been banned from web forums or social networking sites as a result of using foul language or abusive replies to defend themselves against trolls, mostly due to corrupt and one-sided web masters. This is the basis that most trolls operate on. Luring their victims in, getting them stirred up, and then using their reactions against them and pretending that the victim is the bad guy. Anybody who expresses their viewpoints freely and/or touches on divisive and/or sensitive issues is a potential target for trolls.

−
Getting Started
+
Trolling is a common weapon used against conservative speech in feeble attempts at silencing them. Most trolls are kids between the ages of 10 and 16 who have no other agenda than amusing themselves with other people's frustration, who show up to get into mischief and stir up trouble on comment sites and on wikis because they most often are not being supervised online by their parents. Such trolls often venture to the comment sections of conservative news sites to gloat obnoxiously whenever misfortune or reversals get dealt to conservative individuals or groups in the public eye, delighting in the trouble they cause when they gleefully and immaturely mock and ridicule said entities.
−
Once each player is at their computer, the referee signals (by e-mail or wiki posting if they are not in the same location) for them to begin. The players then have 2 hours to create a new Conservapedia account and score as many points for their posts as possible.

−
Once the match begins, a player can edit as many times as he/she likes on Conservapedia. He/she is not allowed to edit a page another player has already posted on and doing so scores no points.

−
Scoring
+
Some of the more outrageous trolls who show up on comment sections of websites have been known to use multiple accounts dishonestly to pretend more "support" for their viewpoints than they really have, and they also often tend to show their age, mentality and lack of intelligence by posting comments containing vulgar and foul language, acting contrary to reality and the truth and acting in an immature, childish and narcissistic manner to provoke anger and reactions from the targeted and other commenters; such comments by those trolls, if made against the same people they target face-to-face and not online from behind the safety of their keyboards, would not be tolerated by the troll's victims and would not end well for the troll.
−
Points are scored for a post every ten minutes after it was placed. In Conservatroll, a post must be at least one sentence to score. No points are scored for posts on talk pages, though many advanced players deliberately post on the talk page in order to give themselves an air of legitmacy.

−
Scoring is as follows:
+
Do not feed the trolls
 +
Do Not Feed the Troll, or DNFT is a common internet term for ignoring trolls, and allowing them to become bored. The same tactic can be used on liberals and atheists, for different reasons. Generally, it is seen as the best way to deal with trolls. The key motive behind trolling is to cause a reaction. Trolls do not care how well reasoned your argument is, they simply want you to react. By failing to give them a response, they will get bored, and leave.

The people at Conservapedia are conservative, and therefore do not tolerate humor or any dissent towards the Great Andy (his name be praised). The only way to make Conservapedia better is to register and they will block if you create a username that shows that you disagree with them, or have a sense of humor. Most Conservatrolls do not use this strategy, for fear of being blocked right out of the gate.

RationalWiki.org is a politically left-leaning website that skews towards atheism/agnosticism in terms of its worldview.

−
For example, adding the sentence "Sarah Palin is a proud crusader against the sinister gay agenda that is sweeping America" would score 5 points per ten minutes it remained in place. This is a safe, cautious play, though some would call it cowardly.

According to an article published in the Los Angeles Times in 2007, RationalWiki members "by their own admission" vandalize Conservapedia. A discussion thread about RationalWiki at the Kiwi Farms website describes RationalWiki as a "Whiny hugbox for spergs and a cluster**** of neverending drama on a rapidly declining website." Atheists have a reputation for having poor social skills (see: Atheism and social/interpersonal intelligence). In recent years, the website RationalWiki has seen an enormous loss of web traffic (see: and web traffic).  Apparently, the web visitors of Kiwi Farms consider RationalWikians to be gullible "lolcows" who are easily upset (see also: Atheism and gullibility).
−
Conservapedia is full of inaccuracy, and if you can add some more, you get 30 points per ten minutes it stays there.

−
Inaccurate information might be something like "Ann Coulter is a Martian" (an insult to our Martian users).

−

+
The website Kiwi Farms has antipathy towards social justice warriors.  RationalWiki.org is largely a pro-SJW atheists website.

−
*Conservative Bias Removal - 40 bonus per ten minutes.
+
Both atheists and Muslims have developed a reputation of being thin-skinned (and for wanting to impose their ideology on others). It has been quipped that "Atheism is the easiest religion to troll".  Internet trolls often actively pursue trolling atheists due to their penchant of being so proud and so easily angered.

−
*Nonsense Bonus - 50 points per ten minutes
+
In 2012, The Guardian published an article entitled Limmy's Show: Confessions of an internet troll which had the subtitle There's a witch-hunt going on against internet trolls right now. But, argues Scots funnyman Limmy, randomly goading atheists, jocks and non-existent techno geeks can be fun.  And of course, being thin-skinned is symptomatic of having excessive pride.
−
One step above inaccurate info, nonsense is completely made up and often makes no sense. Example: "Sarah Palin is a Viking dinosaur from outer space, made of cheese."

−
*Liberal Bias - 60 points per ten minutes.
+
Breitbart journalist Milo Yiannopoulos, a self-described provocateur, indicates "the reason I have a go at atheists is that it's fun. They are so thin-skinned. They are like libertarians, or...they are like liberal Democrats in the UK or..feminists in fact. They are so easy to wind up... They are so touchy."
−
A risky, but potentially rewarding move, adding liberal comments to the worlds most wacko right wing site. This is the play for the brave (or the foolish)!

−
An example could be "Sarah Palin is an inbred, warmongering hillbilly."

−
This award cannot be scored on the same post as conservative bias removal.

−
*Adding Citations - 250 points per ten minutes and (-100) Uncyclopedia points
+
Atheists have reputation for being arrogant (see: Atheism and arrogance). Most people and cultures take a very dim view of proud people and some cultures are known for actively engaging humbling successful people and/or proud people (Several Anglosphere nations are known for having tall poppy syndrome and Filipinos are known for having a "crab culture". Crabs in a bucket of water will pull down crabs trying to escape from the bucket).
−
As facts are for liberals, putting them on Conservapedia is a way to make it more liberal. But with facts being for Wikipedia, adding them to any site is anti-Uncyclopedia. The is also known as the Conservatroll Citation Paradox.

−
*Insane Finland Duck - 3000 points per minute.

−
If you change the page about Finland to say the country contains no people and is populated entirely by ducks, you score 3000 points every minute. I don't make the rules, that's just how it works. Sounds easy, but its so specific that the admins are already all over it like a bad rash. But if you can do it....well that my son is the stuff of Conservatroll legend.

−
One can also score bonuses to increase one's scoring power. Note that to score a bonus, the post must have been able to score anyway. If you only achieve the bonus but no standard points, you get nothing.

−
*Potty Mouth Bonus - 100 points bonus per ten minutes.
+
As can be seen by the below screenshots, RationalWiki is currently attracting a lot of trolls and vandals.
−
If your addition includes any swear words, you score an additional 100 points for that post every ten minutes, on top of the points you would normally have scored.

−
For example "Sarah Palin is a drunken cocksucker" would score you 160 points every ten minutes (60 for being liberal, 100 for swearing).

RationalWiki and concern trolling
* Ann Coulter

According to Dictionary.com a concerning troll is: "Concern trolling involves someone opposing an idea or viewpoint, yet acting like they’re an advocate for the cause. A concern troll offers undermining criticisms under the guise of concern. Their goal is to sabotage the cause being discussed, and to inspire doubt among group members. This occurs in groups rallied around a particular issue, especially in political parties, and the goal of concern trolling is to cause dissent within a community."

−
So in the above example, "Sarah Palin is a drunken cocksucker", if placed on Palin's page, now scores an awesome 660 points per ten minutes (60 for liberal, 100 for swearing, 500 for going after an obvious target).
+
Given the many problems of atheist worldview (see: Rebuttals to atheist arguments), the decline of the secular left, atheist hypocrisy, global desecularization and the many problems Democrats and American leftists are experiencing under the Biden Administration, RationalWikians especially dislike concern trolling. It raises questions that cause cognitive dissonance within RationalWikians and it also undermines group cohesiveness (see also: Atheism and groupthink).  It also makes the secular leftists depressed and many secular leftists are prone to depression and depression regarding political events unfavorable to secular leftism (see: Atheism and depression and Secular leftists and psychogenic illness). The website Marketwatch reported concerning the aftermath of the 2016 presidential race: Donald Trump’s win is causing a surge in demand for mental health services.

*Best of British Bonus - 2 point bonus per ten minutes.
+
RationalWiki's Saloon Bar (a general discussion area at RationalWiki ) and article/user talk pages are especially prone to concerning trolling. RationalWikians have become very angry and have displayed such behavior as using profanity and angrily typing in all cap letters when their ideas are questioned by others and/or concern trolls (see: Atheism and intolerance and Atheism and anger and Atheism and dogmatism and Atheism and profanity).
−
Conservapedia hates fancy foreign spelling, so if you use any British spellings in your post, you get a bonus 2 points per ten minutes, on top of what ever else you would have scored. Using the metric system also counts.

−
So if you said "This conservative man lacks honour" you would score 62 points per ten minutes. (60 for being liberal, 2 for spelling honour the British way.)

−
*Fucktard Bonus - one off 500 bonus points.
+
Concerning atheism and dogmatism, research shows that atheists are less open-minded (see: Atheism and open-mindedness).
−
If another makes an edit to a page you have edited and does not remove your edit, adds something to reaffirm what you said, or changes back to your version, you score an immediate, one time 500 point bonus. You can only score one Fucktard Bonus per page.

−
You cannot combine a Fucktard bonus with extra right wing bias. You can, however, score the fucktard bonus for a post that scores for right wing bias but also scores another type of non-bonus scoring.

−
For example "George W Bush may well be the greatest president in American History" could not score a fucktard bonus, while "George W Bush may well be the greatest president in American History, having personally killed more terrorists with his bare hands then any other." could score a Fucktard bonus (since it contains false information (and bad grammar) as well as the right wing bias). Also, you cannot score a Fucktard Bonus with sockpuppets (duplicate users that you made) or meatpuppets (users that you recruited).

−

−
*Uncyclopedia Bonus - 10000 points per minute

−
If you manage to copy and paste an entire Uncyclopedia page (which includes uploading/titling pictures) into a pre-existing page, you earn 10000 points a minute! This tricky and risky maneuver is a gamble, but it can be very rewarding for the experienced Conservatroll player.

−
*Andy's own rule- Double all points scored.
+
In the BBC documentary The Trouble with Atheism the award-winning journalist Rod Liddle indicates:
−
If Andy (blessed be his holy name) responds to your post personally, all points scored and all bonuses scored for that post are doubled and any further points scored on that post will also be doubled. You get an extra 500 points if Andy concludes his post with 'Godspeed'.

−
A post continues to score as long as it is in place. If the page is changed but retains your edits, it still scores (along with a fucktard bonus).

RationalWiki has created an entire article devoted to concern trolling.

The admins at Conservapedia, being jelly about demonstrations of awesomeness, will block awesome users and their IPs. To counter this prejudice of awesomeness, recruit friends (making them your "meatpuppets"), or use your ninja skills to use your friends' electronics to create many users ("sockpuppets"). However, experienced Conservatrolls do not make many sock/meat puppets at the same time, as that would seat off the admins.

Whoever creates the group gets 15000 points and the <s>dis</s>honour of being Conservatroll God (and must be referred to with such <s>disgrace</s> reverence). For every user recruited, the player will earn 1000 points. This bonus can only occur once; points earned from duplicate groups will not be counted. RationalWiki.org puts requirements on its Discord servers in terms of joining in terms of a certain amount of edits to RationalWiki.org due to its fear of trolls and transparency.
−
Players can replace and reedit pages they have already edited (restoring their own versions etc). The page can still only get the fucktard bonus once.

−
Obviously, this is a foolhardy strategy that attracts attention that can lead to a blocking.

−
Editing the same page repeatedly does not score more points unless the edits are in different categories of scoring.

−
For example, if I said "this man is a right wing fool" and "this man was wrong to want support invading Iraq" on the same page, I would score only 60 points every ten minutes, because they are both liberal statements.

−
However, if I put "This man is a right wing fucker" and "this man is made of cheese and can fly up a goats ass" I would score 190 points per ten minutes (100 for swearing, 30 for nonsense, 60 for being liberal. Note that the swearing bonus counts only once).

−
Ending the game
+
SimilarWeb data for RationalWiki as of January 9, 2021: On January 9, 2022, SimilarWeb indicated that RataionalWiki.org was losing its ranking relative to other websites when it comes to web traffic.
−
The game ends when all players are Blocked or the two hours expires.

−
At this time the games master looks over the history for the pages the players has posted on and totals up the scores and declares the winner. (Though most decent people would argue that being a winner and being a Conservatroll player are incompatible.) The referee can disallow any posts that do not meet the criteria for scoring (less than a sentence, trying to claim right wing bonus for a neutral statement etc).

−
Cheating
+
See also: and web traffic
−
There are several ways to cheat at Conservatroll. Having accomplices who will remove opponents posts or report them to admins is a common one. But cheating is rare, as it is a grave dishonour to cheat in a game of Conservatroll.  In fact, the only greater dishonour is playing the damn game in the first place.

−
Tactics
+
Websites that are under troll and vandal attacks often take a bunker mentality and become preoccupied with fighting trolls and vandals. This bunker mentality is especially prevalent for websites that wish to defend a narrow-minded political/ideological narrative that poorly reflects reality such as RationalWiki. As a result, they often become unwelcoming websites to a large portion of the public.
−
There are many tactics to Conservatroll, with many different playing styles.

−
Some prefer to cautiously place numerous right wing quotes, as they are low scoring but they won't get you banned.

−
Others prefer to go all out on the attack, laying out hails of foul mouthed, poorly spelled, nonsensical left wing anger as quickly as they can before going down in a blaze of glory.

−
Some try and place one or two sly posts, full of swearing, liberalism, surrealism and every other scoring mechanism possible in obscure articles that no one is likely to look at, hoping to slip under the radar.

−
Another tactic many professionals use is to use only British swear words when cursing (such as wanker or twat) thus getting a sneaky extra 2 points per ten minutes. Since most Conservapedia editors are American, they are more likely to not realise what these words mean or assume them to be quaint and inoffensive. At least, until I joined.
+
Furthermore, because the individuals involved in the website are bogged down fighting trolls and vandals instead of creating new content, often this is a contributing factor to the websites losing global marketshare, Google rankings and web traffic in general.

−
One tactic which has never yet been pulled off, only <s>theorised</s> <s>theorized</s> theoriced by the greatest Polish conservatroll scientists, is to edit the Uncyclopedia entry for Finland to consistently refer to the country as being entirely populated by ducks, then copy paste that into the Conservapedia article, thus attaining Insane Finland Duck PLUS the Uncyclopedia Bonus, and making/recruiting users from a Conservatroll group to reaffirm those edits, scoring 28000X+500Y points, with X the number of minutes and Y being the number of users recruited. Even if you failed Algebra 101 (which you probably did, considering that you are reading Uncyclopedia), that's still a lot of points. However, whether or not this is even logistically possible is one of the most hotly debated topics in modern theoretical conservatrollogy.
+
As can be seen below, the website RationalWiki is currently losing global market share.  See also: and web traffic

−
Recently, a new tactic has been introduced into the game, called "Simultaneous conservatrolling". It consists of editing several articles, and then, once they are all complete, saving the edits at the same time. This allows the conservatroll to inflict much more damage to Conservapedia than would normally be considered possible.

−
Although using a proxy server is not required to play the game, most Conservatrolls still use one to throw off the admins. Tor is recommended, as it has a dynamic IP address.
+
Web marketing is often a relative strength game. Just because a website is gaining content or links does not mean that its competitors are not moving faster.

−
Casual Play
+
Biblical advice in dealing with trolls
−
As well as professional and competitive play, one can play Casual Conservatroll. Here a person just makes a post on Conservapedia and looks to see what they would have scored, had they been playing for real. This is fun and a good way to hone your Conservatroll skills, but it can be frustrating! If you score too highly in casual play you will regret not having played that move in a real game!

Revision as of 22:26, March 4, 2022

The term internet troll refers to someone who acts in a way to disrupt or disparage others, often to attract attention to the troll. As a verb, it means commenting in an unproductive way to spark a reaction. Trolls are commonplace on any website open for comment by the public, and studies have even been done about how unhappy trolls are themselves. Trolling can also be online bullying, or cyberbullying.

Jesus explains the existence of trolls in the parable of the tares in Matthew 13:24-30, specifically verse 25: "But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds in the middle of the wheat, and then left."

Internet trolls

Trolling is a common weapon used against conservative speech in feeble attempts at silencing them. Most trolls are kids between the ages of 10 and 16 who have no other agenda than amusing themselves with other people's frustration, who show up to get into mischief and stir up trouble on comment sites and on wikis because they most often are not being supervised online by their parents.[1] Such trolls often venture to the comment sections of conservative news sites to gloat obnoxiously whenever misfortune or reversals get dealt to conservative individuals or groups in the public eye, delighting in the trouble they cause when they gleefully and immaturely mock and ridicule said entities.

Some of the more outrageous trolls who show up on comment sections of websites have been known to use multiple accounts dishonestly to pretend more "support" for their viewpoints than they really have,[2] and they also often tend to show their age, mentality and lack of intelligence by posting comments containing vulgar and foul language, acting contrary to reality and the truth and acting in an immature, childish and narcissistic manner to provoke anger and reactions from the targeted and other commenters; such comments by those trolls, if made against the same people they target face-to-face and not online from behind the safety of their keyboards, would not be tolerated by the troll's victims and would not end well for the troll.

Do not feed the trolls

Do Not Feed the Troll, or DNFT is a common internet term for ignoring trolls, and allowing them to become bored. The same tactic can be used on liberals and atheists, for different reasons. Generally, it is seen as the best way to deal with trolls. The key motive behind trolling is to cause a reaction. Trolls do not care how well reasoned your argument is, they simply want you to react. By failing to give them a response, they will get bored, and leave.

RationalWiki.org, internet trolls, the Kiwi Farms website and individuals going to RationalWiki.org to troll politically left-leaning atheists

RationalWiki.org is a politically left leaning website that skews towards atheism/agnosticism in terms of its worldview.

The editors of the website RationalWiki try to portray the website as a thinking person's wiki where the editors carefully analyze various matters.

But SimilarWeb.com data shows a significant portion of RationalWiki's web audience is interested in "adult" material as can be seen by the "adult" audience interests in the above graphic.

Many feminists contend that pornography exploits women.[3] RationalWiki is a pro-feminism website.[4]

RationalWiki.org is a politically left-leaning website that skews towards atheism/agnosticism in terms of its worldview.

According to an article published in the Los Angeles Times in 2007, RationalWiki members "by their own admission" vandalize Conservapedia.[5] At the same time, RationalWiki.org is currently experiencing a significant amount of trolling and vandalism.

As can be seen in the graphic above from SimilarWeb.com, the 5th most similar website audience in terms of RationalWiki.org is Kiwifarms.net.

At the Kiwi Farms website, there is currently 136 pages of discussion pages at the Kiwi Farms website dealing with RationalWiki and much of it is of a disparaging nature.[6] A discussion thread about RationalWiki at the Kiwi Farms website describes RationalWiki as a "Whiny hugbox for spergs and a cluster**** of neverending drama on a rapidly declining website."[7] Atheists have a reputation for having poor social skills (see: Atheism and social/interpersonal intelligence). In recent years, the website RationalWiki has seen an enormous loss of web traffic (see: RationalWiki and web traffic). Apparently, the web visitors of Kiwi Farms consider RationalWikians to be gullible "lolcows" who are easily upset (see also: Atheism and gullibility).

The website Kiwi Farms has antipathy towards social justice warriors. RationalWiki.org is largely a pro-SJW atheists website.

Both atheists and Muslims have developed a reputation of being thin-skinned (and for wanting to impose their ideology on others). It has been quipped that "Atheism is the easiest religion to troll".[8][9] Internet trolls often actively pursue trolling atheists due to their penchant of being so proud and so easily angered.[10]

In 2012, The Guardian published an article entitled Limmy's Show: Confessions of an internet troll which had the subtitle There's a witch-hunt going on against internet trolls right now. But, argues Scots funnyman Limmy, randomly goading atheists, jocks and non-existent techno geeks can be fun.[10] And of course, being thin-skinned is symptomatic of having excessive pride.

They are so touchy."[11]

As can be seen by the below screenshots, RationalWiki is currently attracting a lot of trolls and vandals.

The above graphic is the block log for RationalWiki taken on February 6, 2022 at 6:45pm. As you can see, RationalWiki is currently blocking a lot of internet trolls who engage in vandalism and edit warring.
The above graphic is the deletion log for RationalWiki taken on February 6, 2022 at 6:40pm. As you can see, RationalWiki is currently deleting a lot of content created by internet trolls who engage in trolling and vandalism.
The above graphic is the page protection log for RationalWiki taken on February 6, 2022 at 8:25pm. As you can see, RationalWiki is currently protecting web pages due to internet trolls who engage in trolling and vandalism.

RationalWiki and concern trolling

An angry atheist speaking to a woman with a Bible in her hand.

The Christian philosopher James S. Spiegel says the path from Christianity to atheism among several of his friends involved moral slippage such as resentment or unforgiveness.[12]

See: Atheism and anger and Atheism and unforgiveness

See also: Atheism and intolerance and Atheism and anger and Atheism and dogmatism and Atheism and profanity

This occurs in groups rallied around a particular issue, especially in political parties, and the goal of concern trolling is to cause dissent within a community."[13]

The website Marketwatch reported concerning the aftermath of the 2016 presidential race: Donald Trump’s win is causing a surge in demand for mental health services.[14]

RationalWiki's Saloon Bar (a general discussion area at RationalWiki ) and article/user talk pages are especially prone to concerning trolling. RationalWikians have become very angry and have displayed such behavior as using profanity and angrily typing in all cap letters when their ideas are questioned by others and/or concern trolls (see: Atheism and intolerance and Atheism and anger and Atheism and dogmatism and Atheism and profanity).[15]

Concerning atheism and dogmatism, research shows that atheists are less open-minded (see: Atheism and open-mindedness).

In the BBC documentary The Trouble with Atheism the award-winning journalist Rod Liddle indicates:

“ Some atheists have become rather dogmatic. Terribly certain in their conviction that there is no God and anyone who thinks there is is a deluded and dangerous fool. ...atheists are becoming as intransigent about their own views as the people they so despise.

Atheism is becoming a religion of its own. It already has its gurus and its revered sacred texts... It has its magnificent temples within which lie mysteries and unknowable truths.[16]

”

RationalWiki has created an entire article devoted to concern trolling.[17]

RationalWiki, its Discord discussion servers and its fear of transparency/trolls

RationalWiki has two Discord discussion servers which are given below:

RationalWiki.org puts requirements on its Discord servers in terms of joining in terms of a certain amount of edits to RationalWiki.org due to its fear of trolls and transparency.

Furthermore, because the individuals involved in the website are bogged down fighting trolls and vandals instead of creating new content, often this is a contributing factor to the websites losing global marketshare, Google rankings and web traffic in general.

As can be seen below, the website RationalWiki is currently losing global market share. See also: RationalWiki and web traffic

On January 9, 2022, SimilarWeb indicated that RationalWiki.org was in decline relative to other websites in terms of web traffic.

Web marketing is often a relative strength game. Just because a website is gaining content or links does not mean that its competitors are not moving faster.

Biblical advice in dealing with trolls

“ Stop giving holy things to the dogs, and throwing your pearls in front of pigs, if you don't want them to trample them underfoot, and turn against you and tear you apart. ”
