Fordham University is a New York private, Catholic, Jesuit university founded in 1841 as St. John's College by Reverend John Hughes, Coadjutor-Bishop (later Archbishop) of New York.[2] The name was officially changed to Fordham University in 1907.[2]

The school ranked #67 in US News's 2008 "National Universities: Top Schools" list.[3]
