Mystery:Who Is Behind NJ Drones

Who Is Behind the New Jersey Drones? Almost certainly, he is Elon Musk, for these reasons:

  1. Musk is the leader in this drone technology. (a Musk tweet: "Drone swarm battles are coming that will boggle the mind.")
  2. Musk is the Sherlock Holmes' "dog that didn't bark": Musk has apparently not commented on this (as of Dec. 14), while commenting on nearly everything else in the news.
  3. Musk admires Trump immensely, even attending the Army/Navy football game with him on Dec. 14, and the drones all initially flew near Trump's summer home (safely when he wasn't there).
  4. Musk loves secret, publicity-generating operations like this. He pushes the edge and likes to be the surprise.
  5. Other possible sources have been all ruled out, such as the Feds plausibly saying the drones are lawful and not theirs.
  6. If this weren't Musk, then he'd already be volunteering to use technology to find out who it is, and he hasn't.
  7. These drones are similar to (and perhaps as dangerous as) Musk's driverless Tesla cars, which Musk loves.

Other possibilities

China

Communist China has the technology, and is hostile to the U.S., but this persistent invasion would constitute an act of war if done by China. Its leadership is far too cautious for such aggression against the U.S. Also, China would presumably be more interested in the West Coast (i.e., California) or Washington, D.C. than in New Jersey.

Google

Google has long done driverless surveillance for its map-building work. But its expertise at drones is less advanced, and Google as a public company would not likely conceal its activities for more than a week amid a public furor.

Iran

A New Jersey congressman identified Iran as a possible source for launching drones from a ship. But officials have rejected itand it is doubtful that Iran has the advanced drone technology, or would use it in this way so far from its borders in the Middle East.
