City University of New York (CUNY) is the public university system of New York City, and the largest urban university in the United States.
It is a bastion for progressives.
Controversy
At least since 2021, beginning with SJP "Palestine" "activists" inciting aggressive campaign such as BDS and extreme propaganda defamation, anti-Jewish atmosohere grew.[2]
It worsened in 2022.[3]
In 2022 it had (former president of NY SJP) infamous Nerdeen Kiswani, "palestinian" hateful "activist" (who had interrupted Holocaust Memorial ceremonies,[4] called for global intifadah and had praised axe murder of Jews[5] ), as a commencement speaker where she spewed her venom.[4] Her co-activist in "WOL", Saadah Masoud was jailed for hate crime violence.[6]
After a fury over alarming Antisemitism at CUNY, It has been punishing professors for complaining about campus antisemitism.[7] It announced that it's conducting an investigation. The very hypocritical "activists" bigots protested Antisemitism investigation by hurling the R word.[8] Yet, CUNY's liberal management hired, ironically, a rather bigoted group's former leader, Saly Abd Alla, previously of CAIR.[9]
Soon, "CUNY became America’s most anti-Semitic university."[10]
In May 2023, Islamic commencement speaker Fatima Mousa Mohammed (SJP member) slammed City University of New York (CUNY) Law for supporting ‘fascist’ (sic) NYPD, oppressive systems.[11] (Despite CUNY record of radical left). YouTube[12] initially took the speech down but then after an uproar by radical leftist groups supporting 'Defund Police'. But especially after protest by Islamist lobby CAIR, they reposted the vile speech back online. NYC's Mayor Eric Adams slammed CUNY law grad for ‘negativity and divisiveness’ after calling for attacks on ‘fascist’ police and military.[13]

CUNY Law School faculty and students unanimously favored anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. Vernikov told "Fox & Friends First" hosts Todd Piro and Carley Shimkus on Thursday that CUNY campuses hold histories rife with antisemitism and that the discrimination has gone "unnoticed" for quite some time.
"There has been no accountability for the leadership, and we need to do something to fight against antisemitism," she said.

The City University of New York (CUNY) is assigning a former leader of the Hamas-linked Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) to investigate an antisemitism and anti-Zionism complaint made internally by a Jewish professor.
CUNY assigned its chief diversity officer, Saly Abd Alla, the former civil rights director of CAIR’s Minnesota chapter, to investigate an email sent by Kingsborough Community College (KCC) professor Jeffrey Lax, accusing its president of anti-Zionist antisemitic discrimination. CAIR is listed by the U.S. Department of Justice as an unindicted co-conspirator in funding millions of dollars to the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, and their leaders have previously called for the destruction of Israel.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) named CAIR a terrorist organization in 2014.

Never mind that CAIR’s Minnesota chapter is so extreme that even CAIR national has distanced itself from it. In doubling down and commending CAIR’s work, the chancellor also falsely denied Abd Alla’s connection to the BDS movement.
Overseen by Abd Alla, the portal uses the CAIR-endorsed Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism, which the nonpartisan nonprofit education organization StandWithUs has blasted as “deeply harmful,” “intended to cause confusion” and an attempt to “further the spread of antisemitism.”

A graduate speaking at the City University of New York’s law school commencement called for a “revolution” to challenge oppressive institutions in the US — name-checking the “fascist” NYPD, the military, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the prison system.
Future lawyer Fatima Mousa Mohammed, a Queens native who was selected by the graduating 2023 class to speak during the May 12 ceremony, praised CUNY for supporting student activism — but said the school still managed to fail students by supporting the NYPD.
