Revision as of 23:24, February 20, 2009

The Charlotte Bobcats are a professional basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina founded in 2004. This was after the Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, as the New Orleans Hornets. The "Cats" play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the NBA at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, which was opened in 2005. The $260 million dollar arena was built without the support of local taxpayers after a referendum on supporting the construction was struck down. Instead a tax on hotel stays and leisure in Charlotte helped to pay for the arena.
