Truro

Truro (Cornish: Truru) is a cathedral city, civil parish and the county town of Cornwall. It is the southernmost city in England and the United Kingdom. The River Allen flows through the city and the Truro River is nearby.

The railway station is on the main line from Penzance to London. Historically the harbour was locally important regarding fishing and the transport of tin and copper mined in the county.

The city has a cathedral and there are some Georgian buildings and cobbled streets. Lys Kernow (English: "Court of Cornwall"), the admin HQ for the unitary authority Cornwall Council, is located in the city.

Its population is 20,920 (2001).
