Toby Keith Covel (July 8, 1961 – February 5, 2024; best known as Toby Keith) was an American country music artist born in Clinton, Oklahoma. He released thirteen studio albums and two Christmas albums. He also is an actor, and starred in Broken Bridges (2005) and Beer for My Horses. (2008) Keith created his own label, Show Dog Nashville.

Keith identified as a conservative Democrat, though he has supported Republican Presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump. Leftists have attacked his music because of his embrace of patriotic concepts. He gave the teenaged Taylor Swift her break in the music industry by allowing Swift to record under his label. The liberal Swift, a supporter of U.S. President Joe Biden, Swift has not yet commented on Keith's death. Keith had performed at Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2017.

He died at the age of sixty-two of a three-year fight with stomach cancer.
