The background to this book are the two Volumes from Toynbee's Study of History entitled,

  • Contacts Between Civilizations in Time
  • Contacts between Civilizations in Space

Due diligence

User:Conservative: I don't think you ever read this book. The basic premise of the book as Huntington states is that China has been the world's largest economy for 3,000 years, up until 1815 when it was succeeded by the British Empire, and later the United States (i.e. "the West"). The book was written immediately after the Cold War. Huntington claimed that now that the ideological struggles of the Cold War ended, China would now reclaim its place as a dominant power and the world's largest economy. This was before the United States, led by the GOP, facilitated China's rise with Most Favored Nation trading status in 2002. Huntington calls the 200-year domination by the West as a "fluke".

Now it's not like the US Congress, presidents and members of both parties weren't aware of Huntington's writings in the mid to late 1990s and early 2000s (with the exception of User:Conservative).

China's one-child policy was not a fluke! It was a colossal case of godless foolishness and it's going to be a big factor in China's huge decline/collapse. China has a mammoth demographic crisis that will likely grow worse due to its continued deteriorating economic condition. Conservative (talk)
