RINOs or a new paradigm shift?

Political parties are defined by the majority of people who self-identify as such. The late John McCain, Mitt Romney, and several others have become what we could call RINOs, but what does that mean? Is it possible that the Republican party that we all have grown up with no longer exists?

I think that the Republican party, perhaps in the spirit of compromise, has shifted too far to the left. Pure conservatism, being the truth, is not affected by the political process. Donald Trump is of course with us, but what do we call the representatives in Congress (other than fools)?

Very insightful. Yes, I've been personally critical of the Republican Party and the two-party system for a little while now. I wish there was a "Conservative Party of the United States of America" that embraced populism, nationalism (both civic and economic), and MAGAnomics. The GOP doesn't even stand for traditional marriage anymore (which was part of its original platform). The really sad part is, no-one can run as an Independent and expect to win a federal election! The same goes for a third-party ticket. We learned that the hard way in Canada: right-wing populist anti-globalist Maxime Bernier founded the People's Party of Canada a few years ago; when he ran for Prime Minister in the federal election in 2019, he lost his own seat in Parliament. It's going to take some time before the PPC gains any serious electoral traction. However, comparing America to Canada is like apples and oranges. In America, there is no Parliament. There are just two corrupt political parties which love to bend the knee to the establishment, and the electoral college keeping the entire American republic from crumbling. As for what to call the losers in Congress, the House, and the Senate, I frequently call them "cucks:" because they seem to love watching their country die. Thank goodness Trump doesn't, and I know what to call him, too: "hero." --BernieandTrumpFan (talk) 00:03, 8 January 2020 (EST)

The GOP can't "out-left" the left by Frank Santarpia of the Staten Island Tea Party. --BernieandTrumpFan (talk) 13:10, 14 January 2020 (EST)

We have the support

I think what we really need is the money. Both establishments seem like they just run opposition to each other in the center to get donor money- for the last eight years, most people have voted against a candidate more than they've voted for one. "Help stop 'XYZ' by donating to us". I've even put Trump party email lists in my spam folder because of that. I support Trump FOR what he does, not AGAINST what he stops, and donate accordingly. BernieandTrumpFan's idea is a really good one. Ideally, I'd like four parties in America- a far-left Socialist party (10% at best?), center-left Dems, center-right Republicans, and us. The Patriot Party would be a good name. Trump losing (not actually, but procedurally) and Biden winning would be the death knell for both parties in a sane world. I honestly don't know how to run a campaign for a Patriot Party because I'm not really smart enough. I think it's certainly viable though.--LawfulLibertarian (talk) 19:01, 8 December 2020 (EST)
