Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. (born October 20, 1971), better known as Snoop Dogg (formerly Snoop Doggy Dogg),and more recently Snoop Lion (adopted after his conversion to Rastafarianism), is an American rapper, singer, and actor. He is a gangsta rap pioneer, working with Dr. Dre to popularize the genre in the early 1990s.

Illegal Activities

Snoop Dogg was arrested on August 25, 1993, in connection with the murder of Philip Woldemariam. Snoop Dogg claimed his bodyguard had shot Woldemariam in self-defense. Both Snoop Dogg and his bodyguard were acquitted.

Snoop Dogg is quite open about his drug use, especially about his use of marijuana. He is a libertarian[1] and an advocate of marijuana use.[2] But he also hypocritically supports gun control,[3] even though he performs a style of music which frequently glorifies violence and gang warfare (including gun use).

Conversion to Christianity

In 2018, Snoop announced that he had become "a born-again Christian" and released his first gospel album Bible of Love.
