Sinclair Broadcast Group is a family-owned digital television broadcasting corporation that owns 193 separate, local, TV stations affiliated with all the major broadcast networks such as CNN, Fox News, NBC, ABC, CBS, and Univision. It calls itself "the leading local news provider in nation"[1].
It "was founded in 1958 by Julian Sinclair Smith, who began with a single FM radio license in Maryland. In the 1960s, it expanded into television as Chesapeake Television Corporation, eventually growing into a media empire. Julian’s son, David Smith, renamed the company Sinclair Broadcast Group in 1985 and led its rapid expansion."[2]
Neocon Sebastian Gorka, who served for a time in the First Trump Administration, upon leaving worked for Sinclair but returned for the Second Trump Administration.
