Linda Douglass
Linda Douglass is the Director of Communications for the White House Office of Health Reform in the Obama Administration. Previously she was a correspondent on CBS News and later ABC News. A native of California, she has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Southern California.[1]
Controversy
In August 2009 Douglass released a youtube video asking supporters to submit "fishy" information over health care reform, and to send in names and email addresses of critics of Obama.[2] This could violate the Privacy Act of 1974 which says:
"No agency shall disclose any record which is contained in a system of records by any means of communication to any person, or to another agency, except pursuant to a written request by, or with the prior written consent of, the individual to whom the record pertains." [3]
Douglass defended the administration, "What we've asked people to do is send in the information, we don't have a list, we're not keeping any of the sources of information." [4]
