Gen. Keith Kellogg also known as Baghdad Bob II replaced National Security Advisor Michael T. Flynn for 10 days after the Deep State forced Flynn out on bogus charges trumped up by James Comey in the Russiagate hoax in the Trump 1.0 administration. He then held the position of national security adviser to RINO VP Mike Pence.

In the Trump 2.0 administration ha was appointed as special envoy to the EU and Ukraine.

Kellogg has been described as an "old man," a guy who's living in the past and is too old now to come to grips with the changed post-Cold War reality of a Russia that, while in continuity with its cultural past, is different than either czarist or Soviet Russia,

Kellogg described the sociopathology of a proxy war to the United States Congress as the "acme of professionalism" to use proxy forces that "takes a strategic adversary off the table" without "using any US troops." Kellogg was pointedly excluded from the US delegation at the Trump-Putin Alaska Summit.

Kellogg announced his retirement shortly after the leak of Trump's 28 point peace propodal for Ukraine. An X post by Trimp envoy Steve Witkoff stated that Witkoff didn’t leak the details so it must have been leaked by “K”. Most news reports mistakenly suggested “K” was a reference to Witkoff's Russian counterpart, Kirill Dmitriev. Rather, “K” likely referred to Kellogg himself who leaked details of the peace proposal he staunchly opposed. Kellogg spent his career as a neocon warmonger opposed to peace like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and former National Security Advisor Mike Waltz so his decision to resign was seen as a major victory for the America First conservative wing of the Trump administration led by Vice President JD Vance and a heavy blow to neocons and to Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelensky.

In November 2025 the 81 year old neocon warmonger was replaced by Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll as the Presidential Special Envoy to end the NATO proxy war in Ukraine.
