Fitch Ratings are one of the big three credit rating services for banks and other financial institutions. It is a competitor to Moody's and Standard & Poor's. Fitch was founded in New York City and is also based today in London.

Fitch's long-term investment ratings are alphabetic from D (lowest) to AAA (highest), while its short-term (less than 12 months) investment ratings are from D (lowest) to F1+ (highest).
