Florence Henderson was the Indiana-born actress who led the first national tour of the famous musical, The Sound of Music, in 1961.[1]
Later she became known to nearly all Americans as Carol Brady on The Brady Bunch.
Taught in a Catholic high school across the river in Kentucky, she refused a role by which she would have worn a nun's habit in a disrespectful manner.
