Holland is a city in southern Pemiscot County, Missouri. It had a population of 229 at the 2010 census.

History

Holland derives its name from J. W. Holland, who along with another man, J. C. Winters, settled on the site in 1871. It grew slowly until the arrival of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad in 1901, at which point it became a significant community. It was incorporated in 1903.[1] Holland's population peaked at 529 in 1920; since then, it has fluctuated somewhat, though generally trending downward.
