The View is a talk show that airs weekdays on ABC. It was created by Barbara Walters in 1997 and features four to six female panelists discussing the issues of the day from a generally liberal perspective.
The current line-up features Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Megan McCain, Paula Faris, Sara Haines, Jedediah Bila and Sunny Hostin. Previous co-hosts include Barbara Walters, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, Meredith Vieira, Lisa Ling, Rosie Perez, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Rosie O'Donnell, Nicolle Wallace, Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy, Anna Navarro and Candace Cameron Bure.
Co-host Joy Behar once dressed up in blackface for the predominantly liberal audience's amusement.[1]
