Elisabeth Dee "Betsy" DeVos (b. 8 January 1958) is the eleventh and current United States Secretary of Education. Devos has also been a businesswoman, and advocate for school choice.
DeVos was nominated by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the United States Senate in a 51-50 vote, with Vice President Mike Pence casting the tie-breaking vote.
She is married to Dick DeVos, who ran an unsuccessful campaign for the governorship of Michigan against unpopular incumbent Jennifer Granholm.
