The Top 2023 Elections (those having significance either nationally or state-wide) include the following:

  • Kentucky: gubernatorial contest between pro-transgender agenda Andy Beshear and conservatives Daniel Cameron with his running mate Robby Mills
  • Louisiana: gubernatorial contest, where incumbent John Bel Edwards is term-limited and is ineligible to run again
  • Ohio: a ballot initiative to raise the approval threshold to 60% for amendments to the state constitution, and thereby prevent mega-spending from passing bad pro-abortion and other bills
  • Texas:
    • Five ballot measures to amend the verbose, and frequently amended, Texas Constitution: four of the measures involve new dedicated funds to support water infrastructure, broadband infrastructure, park land acquisition, and university funding (other than the University of Texas and Texas A&M systems, which have dedicated funding), and the fifth measure proposes an increase in the property tax homestead exemption to $100,000 of assessed value
    • A special election for the currently vacant House District 2 seat, previously held by Bryan Slaton prior to his expulsion from the House for inappropriate behavior and attempts to conceal it (it is expected that the Republicans will once again hold this seat as the district is overwhelmingly Republican)
    • NOTE: If Ken Paxton is removed from his position as Texas Attorney General, a special election will be called. However, at this time, it is not known whether the election would be held at the same time as the ballot measures and the District 2 special election, or if it would be held later in 2023 or early 2024.
