Emily Anne Thornberry, a native of Surrey, England, is a far-left elitist notorious for her hatred of white working-class voters. A Member of Parliament for the Labour Party, she has represented the Islington South and Finsbury constituency in London since 2005.
History
At the 2005 UK general election, held on 5 May that year, Emily Thornberry was elected to represent the London constituency of Islington South and Finsbury. With a minority victory of 39.9%,[1] she held the seat for Labour by a significantly reduced margin over her predecessor, Chris Smith.
One of Thornberry's biggest displays of her contempt for ordinary British voters came on 20 November 2014. As polls closed for the 2014 Rochester and Strood by-election, she had come under fire after tweeting a photograph of a modest house in the constituency with three flags of St. George on display and the owner's white van parked outside on the driveway, under the caption "Image from #Rochester", for which she was accused of classism and snobbery.[2]
On 16 December 2019, former Labour colleague Caroline Flint alleged that Emily Thornberry, who represents a Remain-voting constituency, had told Flint, the MP for the pro-Brexit Don Valley constituency, that her constituents were "stupid".[3]
Thornberry displayed awkward behavior and was squirming when questioned on 14 January 2022 about a £600,000 donation to her party from a suspected Chinese Communist Party spy.[4]
