I used to work for a Jewish Center and so I met a lot of American immigrants from Russia. In 2023-2024, there has been a significant amount of Jews leaving Russia.

Israel:

• In the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024, Israel ranked 15th out of 133 economies.[3]
• Fertility rate: 2.89 births per woman in 2022. 2.1 births per woman is considered to be a replacement level of births.
• Entrepreneurial activity: Business startups - Israel is known as the "start-up nation" and has a large number of startups per capita. Israel has a thriving venture capital market.[4]
• In 2023, Israel's military spending was 5.3% of its gross domestic product (GDP).

I really didn't follow Mearsheimer's commentary on the war in Gaza very closely. Israel has never lost a war so his commentary didn't make sense. Israel didn't achieve all its aims in Gaza, but they did provide some deterrence and weaken Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah. Effect of Gaza war: "Iran and Russia have been severely weakened as Israel has pounded Tehran’s proxies in the region, leading also to the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria. John Mearsheimer and his weaknesses

You mentioned John Mearsheimer above. You might find this video interesting: Why John Mearsheimer is wrong about realism, great power politics and history. I don't agree with 100% of the video, but he makes some legitimate points.

With that being said, one assumption of Mearsheimer is that there is no power above nations (This is an assumption of anarchic realism). Of course, being that I am believer in the divine inspiration of the Old Testament which has a lot of evidential support (See: Biblical archaeology and Bible prophecy), I know Mearsheimer is wrong about this matter.

I cite:

• Psalm 22:28: "For royal power belongs to the LORD. He rules all the nations"
• Psalm 47:8-9: "God rules over the nations. God sits on His holy throne. The rulers of the people have gathered together as the people of the God of Abraham"
• Psalm 113:4: "The Lord rules over all nations; his glory is above the heavens"
• Psalm 103:19: "The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all"
• Proverbs 8:15: "By me kings reign"
• Daniel 4:17: "The Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will".

Mearsheimer does make some legitimate commentary on world events, but there are some views of his that I disagree with.

Jewish people have been awarded a lot of Nobel Prizes when taken into account the size of the Jewish population in the world. "Jews have won 22% of all Nobel Prizes awarded between 1901 and 2023, which is 110 times their proportion of the world's population."[7]

Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Monaco are very prosperous and tiny in size too and they have quite a bit of Catholicism (The Swiss, although not a Catholic country, has a sizeable Catholic population).
