Times Square is formed by the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. It is bounded by West 47th Street to the north and West 42nd Street to the south. Known as Longacre Square at its establishment in 1904, it was renamed after the New York Times headquarters building, which was one of the landmarks situated there.
It has become a cultural icon of advertisements amid one of the busiest and most-visited locations in the world.
