Theodore Ralph “Ted” Kulongoski (born November 5, 1940, age 79) is a retired Oregon politician. A lifelong Democrat, he served as the state's 36th governor (2003–2011), a state Supreme Court justice (1997–2001), state Attorney General (1993–1997), and state Insurance Commissioner (1987–1992). Kulongoski also served in the Oregon House of Representatives (1974–1978) and in the Oregon Senate (1978–1987). Kulongoski served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He is a Roman Catholic.
