Ever since neoconservativism became a dirty word after the Iraq war, the Hoover Institution has been attempting to scrub its reputation and website from being renowned as a bastion and hub for the development of "neoconservative thought": The Stanford Review: Hoover's Neoconservatism Can't Last, February 21, 2025:
- "A recent online dust-up between Hoover Institution historian Niall Ferguson and Vice President J.D. Vance perfectly captures the fault line dividing today’s right. Out: globalism. In: America First.
- Actually, I've been hearing more of Kotkin in recent weeks, not because I want to, but because he keeps coming up on my autofeed (such is the AI claptrap and algorithms in YouTube). Despite being anti-Trump, I find Kotkin's criticism of Samuel Huntington in agreement with my own since the 1990s. One thing is for certain, Kotkin is not the vehement Russophobe that User:Conservative paints him. This gives just one more example of User:Conservative's misuse of sources and incessant trolling that I need to keep an eye on. RobSAbnormal is fine. Stupid isn't. 17:56, February 24, 2026 (EST)
- This article is linked to about 200 mainspace articles. In 2023, Kokin, with his Bidenesque perspective, referred to the NATO war in Ukraine as a "strategic defeat" for China because China's support for Russia supposedly "drove a wedge between China and the West" - until Trump tariffs brought Europe and China back together again.
If Donald Trump is elected in 2024, it's hammer time for the Chinese and Russian economies.
He is going to hammer China with high tariffs which is not good for their biggest oil seller Russia!
Trump would also ramp up U.S. oil and gas production, Mr. Putin. And get NATO members to up their defense spending. And have the USA produce weapons for Ukraine that European NATO members pay for. Break it down! Stop! Hammer time!
Please see:
*Donald Trump, who is favored to win the 2024 presidential election, wants to hammer China with high tariffs
*Russia's economy and gas and oil profits will be BADLY damaged when China's economy declines
China and Russia, U Can't Touch This

- The Telegraph: EU halts US trade deal over Trump tariffs chaos,
- FT: Donald Trump’s new flat-rate tariff is a boost for China.
- The Judiciary as the Last Bastion of Intellectual Conservatism. The Supreme Court strikes down Trump's tariffs.
The point here is:
- (a) anyone with a cursory interest or understanding of economics & geopolitics could see this coming in 2023, 2024, and 2025;
- (b) User:Conservative has no interest, knowledge, or understanding even of the sources he uses, as evidenced again. He relies on AI & search engine results of certain words and phrases for his confirmation bias.
