Fascinating start!--Andy Schlafly (talk) 23:24, November 18, 2021 (EST)

Thank you, Mr. Schlafly! Please feel free to remove or add anyone as you see fit!--TheNewRight (talk) 11:22, November 19, 2021 (EST)

My vote is for Senator Manchin for Conservative of the Year and Governor-Elect Youngkin for runner-up

In my opinion, I think that Senator Manchin should be Conservative of the Year. Although he is clearly not entirely a conservative, he has been instrumental in sinking some of the far-left's policy proposals, such as the Green New Deal and the Build Back Better bill as well as opposing the nomination of Neera Tanden as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. His opposition to these policy proposals drew significant backlash from the far-left. I think Governor-Elect Youngkin should be runner-up because he was elected Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia in what was considered to be a massive rebuke of President Biden and his policies. He also laid a pathway forward for Republicans going into the 2022 Midterms. Any thoughts?--TheNewRight (talk) 01:00, December 25, 2021 (EST)

Great points. Thank you. We need to narrow this down and pick the winners soon!--Andy Schlafly (talk) 16:48, December 29, 2021 (EST)
My vote is for Oklahoma Rep. Markwayne Mullin, who successfully evacuated an American family from Afghanistan amidst the chaos caused by Biden's foreign policy disasters. —LT (The Old Right was right!) Wednesday, 16:52, December 29, 2021 (EST)
My vote for for Arizona Representative Paul Gosar, who voted against sealing the election results, was the strongest vote against the Juneteenth National Independence holiday, and was censured for merely posting a meme on Twitter. -Mr. Nationalist (talk) 20:04, December 29, 2021 (EST)
I like Sen. John Kennedy. This video should be a permanent exhibit in the Museum of Conservativism as a model of how to talk to a liberal communist. But I know we probably need a younger winner for a role model this year. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 20:12, December 29, 2021 (EST)
Part 2: Epilogue. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 20:18, December 29, 2021 (EST)
I still think Senator Manchin should be Conservative of the Year. He has done more for Conservativism than many Republicans in the Congress.--TheNewRight (talk) 13:21, December 30, 2021 (EST)
Manchin is up for reelection in 2024, when Trump will carry his state by 40+ points. I think Manchin's stance reflects where his constituents are. That's fine, but I don't see it as award-winning.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 16:05, December 30, 2021 (EST)
Politics is a funny business. If Manchin were to run as a Republican in 2024, there is no guarantee he could win against a strong Democrat who would call him a traitor. An honor like this would be turned into a smear against him. Everybody is happy just the way things are. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 22:13, December 30, 2021 (EST)

Downgrading Manchin because he's just doing what 50 Republican senators are already doing, and which the overwhelming number of West Virginia constituents of Manchin want. It's also what Manchin campaigned on to get elected in 2010.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 20:13, December 30, 2021 (EST)

I love Jim Jordan who is an ex wrestling coach. He reminds me of myself during the "fighting Irish" stage of my life. Conservative (talk) 20:44, December 30, 2021 (EST)
If it's not Lady Space Lasers, then I'm storming the servers on account of the obvious massive electoral fraud going on here. ConwayIII (talk) 21:07, December 30, 2021 (EST)
Joe Biden is going to mauled by the she bears of Covid-19, inflation, crime and the southern border. Trump could win the presidency in 2024. Grover Cleveland won nonconsecutive presidential terms. Conservative (talk) 21:57, December 30, 2021 (EST)
If neither Manchin nor Youngkin are Conservative of the Year, then I would vote for DeSantis. He has been a strong Conservative.--TheNewRight (talk) 22:19, December 30, 2021 (EST)
I like the two frontrunners. I hope it's not a coin toss. Rand is a multiple CPAC winner, too. Maybe we should have an unwritten rule discouraging repeat winners, and do our best to recognize fresh faces and encourage new blood. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 22:24, December 30, 2021 (EST)
It should be won on merit. Paul exposed Fauci via his bulldog tenacity. He deserves to win. Conservative (talk) 23:20, December 30, 2021 (EST)
<ssssh>I was trying to give Andy an excuse to choose MTG.Yah, on merit. Right. I fully agree. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 23:57, December 30, 2021 (EST)

Uh oh, now there's a report that Joe Manchin is negotiating to revive Biden's Build Back Better $2T boondoggle spending bill! [1]--Andy Schlafly (talk) 11:58, January 3, 2022 (EST)

This is typical Democrat thinking. Manchin didn't really say "No" last week, he said "Not now". Translation: by April in an election year, there will be pressure for more "stimulus" after the ravages of inflation in the next three months. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 01:18, January 4, 2022 (EST)
Inflation right now is somewhere between 13 and 26%. One big, big cause was the $3,000 in stimulus payments over the past 2 years while nothing was produced. So now the inflationary chickens have come home to roost. The Millennial generation has no experience with inflation, as the boomers did not either in the 1970s; the New Deal generation knew it very well, as FDR's margin of victory shrank year after year in each of his four terms.
Excessive government spending causes inflation. As the ravages of inflation destroy Americans' wellbeing, there will be calls for more social spending - kicking off another round of inflation. Stimulus spending is like crack cocaine. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 01:35, January 4, 2022 (EST)

Good thing we didn't pick Manchin as Conservative of the Year 2021! He may cave into the Leftists in 2022.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 02:55, January 4, 2022 (EST)

Yep. I think he may cave on some aspects, albeit a smaller version, like Dems efforts to make the childcare tax credit permanent as part of an election year gimmick. The ball then is in Sinema' court. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 03:28, January 4, 2022 (EST)

Rand Paul or MTG as the winner?

I think a strong case can be made for making MTG the winner. It's between her and Rand Paul as the leading two contestants in a very strong field of contenders.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 13:34, December 31, 2021 (EST)

I think that DeSantis should be the winner. He has arguably been the most vocal against Vaccine mandates. Bytemsbu (talk) 15:16, December 31, 2021 (EST)
We have two or three years yet for that honor; thus far his accomplishments are limited to Florida, and much of it is still in the courts. RobSLet's Go Brandon! 15:20, December 31, 2021 (EST)
I think MTG should be the winner. She has received more attention than Rand Paul.--TheNewRight (talk) 15:52, December 31, 2021 (EST)
I agree. The more I think about what MTG accomplished, it's phenomenal:
  • completely stymied Nancy Pelosi and The Squad all year
  • exposed the DC Gulag such that its unhinged, Anti-Trump warden had to delete her prior tweets
  • was instrumental in discrediting Liz Cheney
  • is so overwhelmingly supported by her constituents that redistricting with an infusion of Dems doesn't diminish her certain reelection
  • enormously helpful to Donald Trump, calling him her favorite president of all time
  • helps other candidates in other districts
  • all the above despite being wrongly excluded from committees by Dems, which would have ended the political career of anyone else
--Andy Schlafly (talk) 15:59, December 31, 2021 (EST)
Great! I think MTG is the winner! Any thoughts on who should be RINO of the year?--TheNewRight (talk) 16:35, December 31, 2021 (EST)
Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, and Pat Toomey are strong contenders for RINO of the year.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 17:37, December 31, 2021 (EST)
I think that Liz Cheney should be RINO of the year. Also, there is an error on the homepage: It says Ron Paul is the first runner-up instead of Rand Paul.--TheNewRight (talk) 20:23, December 31, 2021 (EST)
Great catch on the error! You're in line for a promotion on your account in 2022!!!! Also, I agree about Liz Cheney being RINO of the year. Would you (or anyone else) like to start that entry?--Andy Schlafly (talk) 20:43, December 31, 2021 (EST)
Thank you very much, Mr. Schlafly! I will work on RINO of the year now! Happy New Year!--TheNewRight (talk) 23:15, December 31, 2021 (EST)

MTG challenged OTC to a debate on the Green New Deal and AOC wimped out like the left always does concerning debates (Because they cannot defend their nonsense). :) Conservative (talk) 19:05, December 31, 2021 (EST)
