Once upon a time, Bill Nye put science ahead of shilling for left-wing causes: "Bill Nye In 1996: Chromosomes Determine If You’re A Boy Or Girl." PeterKa (talk) 08:13, 3 May 2017 (EDT)
- I added that to the article (even though I used WND as a source). --1990'sguy (talk) 08:48, 3 May 2017 (EDT)
The "Ken Ham Responds to Bill Nye The Humanist Guy" link
I removed that link because it is dead on the internet. It says "This video is unavailable". External links commonly go stale, and I generally remove them when I find them. Now it's been put back. There are 2 explanations: (1) There's something about my computer that makes it unable to see a site that others can see (this wouldn't surprise me that much; the internet is full of messy authorization issues), or (2) 1990'sguy didn't check the link when putting it back. Please check this, and remove it (or find out where it went and link to its new home) if it is in fact dead.

evolutionISM and creationISM
1990'sguy, you're right about these terms. The usage should be symmetrical. And I've always been bothered by the term "evolutionist" or "evolutionism" (though Cons likes them). Though people who accept Biblical creation don't seem as bothered by being called "creationists" as I am about being called an "evolutionist".
The problem was that "creation" is much more likely to be considered ambiguous than "evolution", so people put the "ism" on it. But, after giving it some thought, I'm convinced that, in the context of articles like this, no one is going to think "evolution" refers to mathematical graphs, and no one is going to think "creation" refers to web sites.
I assume people are OK with my usage of the word "Biblical". I don't think that anyone who believes that the universe came into being 6000 years ago believes that for any reason other than that it's in the Bible. Feel free to take that word out if you think I'm overusing it.

- I agree with your edits. I'm not the biggest fan of the term "creationist" due to the negative connotation of "-ist" terms, but I don't necessarily oppose the term either. I try to use it as little as possible. Me being a young Earth creationist, you probably wouldn't be very surprised to hear that I like terms like "evolutionist" or "evolutionism" to describe the belief system (regardless, it is easier to say "creationist" or "evolutionist" rather than "believer in creation/evolution"). However, I want symmetrical and consistent terminology over all that.
- I support you using the term "biblical creation" here, but it might be good to note that I've seen the term used for all types of creationists, including the old Earth creationists who do not fully adhere to evolution and billions of years. --1990'sguy (talk) 19:09, 11 June 2017 (EDT)
Interesting article
While I don't know how to incorporate this article into Nye's CP page, it is an interesting read, from a YEC Christian perspective. --1990'sguy (talk) 23:33, 16 January 2018 (EST)
Nye torches a globe
Sadly, it seems that Bill Nye has now lost his mind. Watch him torch a globe while delivering an F-word laden rant. PeterKa (talk) 20:37, 13 May 2019 (EDT)
