Fix this anti-Western and anti-USA paragraph which is misleading and also contains a factual mistake
This paragraph needs to be fixed:
"BRICS leaders are aligned as anti-corporatist and anti-fascist, which simply means they want to make decisions themselves, and do not want multinational corporations to become more powerful than the government. The BRICS group are essentially the opposing element to the World Economic Forum. BRICS is working to devise measures to prevent the kind of predatory military assaults the U.S. carried out against Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Afghanistan. The BRICS group is essentially a group of nations that do not want corporations and multinational banks running their government. BRICS countries want their government running their government, whatever form of government that exists in their nation, even if it is communist."
An example of a factual mistake and/or misleading nature: India which is an influential member of BRICS and a non aligned country, participated in the Word Economic Forum at DAVOS 2024 as can be seen at: From navigating global headwinds to endorsing responsible AI: 5 key themes from India at Davos 2024. Brazil is another influential member of BRICS that is also non aligned and it also participated in the World Economic Forum at DAVOS 2024 as can be seen at "The Minister for the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, represented Brazil at the World Economic Forum, concluded this Friday, January 19, in Davos, Switzerland. In her remarks, she advocated for a profound change in how nature should be evaluated in terms of public policy: a focus on the value provided by nature rather than the cost of preserving it." (Marina Silva advocates for a dialogue on the "value of nature" for the global economy). Conservative (talk) 15:38, October 20, 2024 (EDT)

- You are not explaining why the paragraph is not in error. Clearly, it is. How can BRICS oppose the World Economic Forum, when two of its most influential members, namely India and Brazil, participated in it as can be seen by Davos 2024. And given the size of the non aligned countries in number, and the growing influence of the up and coming countries of India and Brazil, BRICS future expansion would appear to favor BRICS becoming more non aligned with time and not less for the foreseeable future. Are the BRICS nations anti-corporatists?
The article states: "BRICS leaders are aligned as anti-corporatist...".
Here is one definition of anti-corporatism: "Anti-corporate activism is activism directed against the private sector, particularly larger corporations. It is based on the belief that the activities and impacts of big business are detrimental to the public good and the democratic process."
Are the BRICS nations anti-corporatists? There is no footnote for this claim. India has a growing private sector, a stock market that is doing well (see: Is India’s stock market riding too high?), and its economy is growing. And some of its corporations could be defined as larger corporations and the Indian government does not hassle their big corporations in a significant way like China does. On the other hand, India has nationalized a number of companies over the years.Conservative (talk) 16:49, October 20, 2024 (EDT)

Only 36% of Indians view BRICS expansion positively. India is an influential member of BRICS and the world's largest democracy
According to Gallup International, only 36% of Indians view BRICS expansion positively.[1] India is an influential member of BRICS and the world's largest democracy. Shouldn't this notable fact be included in the article?
Given communist China's influence on BRICS and that India/China relations are often poor, it's not surprising that many Indians do not look at BRICS expansion favorably. Conservative (talk) 17:20, October 20, 2024 (EDT)

- That's a real bad excuse for losing objectivity in an article. The fact remains that the majority of Indians appear not be in favor of BRICS expansion. And India is an influential member of BRICS that is a democracy so its citizens have some say as far as India's involvement in BRICS and/or how India influences BRICS's policy. - I will also point out that India is a member of the SWIFT Oversight Forum so it can hardly be said to be anti-Swift.[2] Conservative (talk) 19:42, October 20, 2024 (EDT)

Understating BRICS
| “ | imagine two foreign nations, say China and Brazil, trading with each other. Neither country has a currency that is trusted, liquid, and convertible, which makes trading with each other challenging. However, because they can transact in U.S. dollars backed by U.S. Treasuries, they are able to trade freely with each other and prosper. | ” |
- He's out of touch. That's the way the world used to work. Not anymore:
- Brazil, China ditch US dollar for trade payments, favour yuan - News.au, Mar 31 2023
To understand BRICS, I would suggest studying the Joint-currency float of the Benelux countries between Nixon closing the Gold window in 1973 and the issuance of the Euro in 1994.
- It's the phrase, "backed by U.S. Treasuries", i.e. uncontrolled, inflationary deficit spending that should open the eyes of conservatives to realize that this Trump advisor doesn't know what he's talking about. It's essentially the same argument Biden made: It's a great asset. More inflation. What a stupid SOB.
