Sukarno

Sukarno (1901-1970) was the first president of Indonesia, who ruled from 1945 to 1967. Sukarno's ideology was Nasakom, which is an acronym of the Indonesian words for nationalism, religion and Communism. During his tenure, Communists fought against Islamists. In 1967 he was replaced by Suharto.
