Salvia divinorum is a relatively new drug, which has not been proven to have any dangerous side effects, marketed under labels like "Mind Screw x37" that is obtained from a perennial herb in the mint family native to certain areas of the Sierra Mazateca region of Oaxaca, Mexico. Because it is not a chemical analogue of any currently scheduled alkaloid, it's active constituent Salvinorin A is not illegal. Some politicians have taken actions to make the drug illegal, though many argue that this is unmerited, as more dangerous drugs like alcohol are legal.
