PhpMyAdmin is a control panel for MySQL administration, frequently used by developers of database-backed websites. It is written in PHP and is available at no cost, i.e. freeware.

It is simple to use, and a beginner can use it right away without any special training or the need to study books or manuals. This is unlike the "big three" relational database programs (Oracle, Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server) whose administrative programs are designed for full-time professional administrators of multiple large corporate databases.
