A control panel contains instruments, dials, switches, knobs, sliders, etc., to let a person observe and/or control a process or a machine.

A virtual control panel is a software program which does the same thing for some aspect of a computer system. The Macintosh computer and the Windows operating system come with control panels. Some website hosts provide control panels, e.g. the free cPanel application.
