Oliver Bulleid

Oliver Vaughan Snell Bulleid (19 September 1882 – 25 April 1970) was the Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Southern Railway of Great Britain from 1937 to 1948.[1]

Locomotives

Mr Bulleid's best-known locomotives are the Merchant Navy, West Country and Battle of Britain classes, designed for the Southern Railway.

Faith

He was raised as an Anglican, but later became a devout Roman Catholic.
