The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is the preeminent museum, rivaled only the later-constructed Guggenheim Museum, for recognizing and displaying modern art. It is located in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, at 11 West 53rd Street, where it has been since 1939.

In 2021 MoMA attracted more than a million visitors, and ranked as the 15th most-visited art museum in the world.

In 1951, it had an influential exhibit of eight car designs, which gave publicity to the artists who created those designs.

MoMA was an early exhibitor of Picasso's works, which gained increasing prominence in the 20th century.

It has membership programs that range from $65 to $600 per year.[1]
