Monogenetic volcano

Monogenetic volcanoes typically erupt for only brief time intervals—weeks to perhaps centuries—and generally display a narrower range (as compared to composite volcanoes) in eruptive behavior. Most monogenetic volcanoes are basaltic in composition. (Walder, et al., 1999) [1]
