Kurt Angle, born 9 December 1968, is a retired American sports entertainer who previously performed for World Wrestling Entertainment as well as for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
He was a highly decorated collegiate wrestler, twice winning the NCAA Division I individual wrestling championship, as well as a gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.[1] During his professional career it would be regularly repeated that he won the medal "with a broken neck!" which was only partially true: he had legitimately suffered a neck injury but by the Olympics it had healed.
