James Bruce Crawley, Sr., known as J. B. Crawley (November 30, 1920 – November 8, 2018), was a businessman who owned a chain of radio stations and was a Southern Baptist layman in his native Campbellsville in Taylor County in central Kentucky.[2]

Crawley was one of five children of Dennis Wilmore Crawley (1887-1972) and the former Isla May Hunt of Campbellsville. During World War II, Crawley was a civilian contractor for the United States Navy. He taught radio and radar technology and developed patents through RCA and his own inventions. He was a deacon at the Campbellsville Baptist Church and participated in numerous missionary trips with the Baptist Mission Board throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Africa. He was a trustee of Baptist-affiliated Campbellsville University, which awarded him an honorary doctorate. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Order of the Kentucky Colonels and a former president of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association.[2]

Crawley and his wife, the former Elizabeth Perkins (1922-2003)[3] married on December 21, 1941. They had two children, James Crawley, Jr., of Decatur, Alabama, and Jane Carolyn "Janie" (born 1950) and her husband, Dr. Grant Killian of Lighthouse Point, Florida.[2]

Crawley died in Hodgenville in LaRue County, Kentucky, where Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809. His funeral was delivered by Dr. James Edward Jones, the former pastor of Campbellsville Baptist Church and a long-term member of the Taylor County Fiscal Court. The Crawleys are entombed at Brookside Mausoleum in Campbellsville.[2]
