Faith and the Gospel of John

Faith and the Gospel of John consist of using the Gospel of John to strengthen one's faith.
Incredibly, John never once uses the Greek word for faith, pistis, in his entire Gospel. His closes reference to faith is at John 12:42-43 (ESV, emphasis added):
| “ | Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God. | ” |
It seems unlikely John, who became isolated from others, had a copy of the Epistle to the Hebrews when John wrote his Gospel, given the focus of the Epistle on faith. Or perhaps John felt that his Gospel did not need to add to the Epistle on this issue.
