Drug cartels

Drug cartels are groups of drug dealers, who are selling drugs in large quantities and work sometimes together with a mafia. Particular in South and Central America, for example in Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile and Peru, there are the many drug cartels.

Drug cartels are often involved in illegal arms smuggling and weapons transfers as well. Under the Patriot Act drug cartels and terrorist organizations were brought under the same classification of foreign intelligence agencies for purposes of procuring surveillance warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court.
