Die Another Day (2002) is the twentieth film of the James Bond film series and the fourth and last film to star Pierce Brosnan as fictional British secret agent James Bond. It is notable for being the last film in the series set in the original timeline before the series was restarted at the beginning of Bond's career with the following film Casino Royale. It also marks the final appearances of John Cleese as Q/R and Samantha Bond as Miss Moneypenny. R, who was introduced as an assistant to Major Boothroyd in the previous film The World is Not Enough, is shown to take the rank of Q in this film, thus succeeding Boothroyd.
